Pros The reason I'm writing this review is that I put in a support ticket, via e-mail, to fix an issue (with DDM after updating to Win11). From sending the e-mail to solution took about 5 minutes. It wasn't a checklist of questions that would take me 20 minutes to go through including resetting all global settings. Having fixed this so quickly, I now have time to write a review.Added niche bonus, but you don't need separate licenses for each web viewer. This is really important to us.Between DDM, their excellent support and the great admin internally I've got software that's infinitely easier to use than anything I've seen before. Cons Description of 'folders' as containers for moving work is confusing as that name already means something else to lots of people. " April 21, 2021 5.0 Excellent implementation and great vendor team. Pros Ease of configuration and implementation. Ease of use and vendor is outstanding in service. Cons Administration needs improvement but vendor is working on suggested enhancements. In a simple sentence, this software does not work. First, their customer service had us wait two weeks after we paid to give us any training help. Support was in the order of days and per their own schedule. Questions were often overlooked or plainly ignored. On the technical side, this software made my Soliworks crash all the time. It changed the fonts of my drawings and some SWs options stopped being available. Suddenly, it would crash and I would lose my work in progress. There were three user interfaces that were a nightmare to use, besides looking dull. Their web app also does not work. We stopped using this low quality product after our customer could not open our files on the web app and my expensive engineering team lost weeks worth of work and productivity because of a bad decision we made when trying this. Pros I liked nothing about this software. From the user interface to customer service, this software continuously broke my Solidworks. Cons In a simple sentence, this software does not work. Once I started looking for alternatives to DDM, any other product on the market, Open BOM, Upchain, Durolabs, or even Grabcad had a better user experience on the morale of my team and worked significantly better. Quality Compliance Co-ordinator Plastics Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Great for experts, but not ideal for people who aren't "computer whizzes"" October 3, 2019 4.0 DDM was originally purchased for our design team, which thinking back is the ideal use (because designers tend to be a lot more computer literate than other staff). When hearing about DDM and its abilities, the business decided to use DDM more widely - Such as for use of control of documentation (procedures etc.). The team spent weeks configuring the system to manage aspects of Quality, Compliance, Design, H&S, and the team felt the functionality was perfect. Sadly when rolling out to the wider team, including staff who were less computer literate, it was evident that the system was not very intuitive. The launch of DDM didn't really happen as planned, and it has since been limited to the use of the design team. Quality, Compliance and H&S have now invested in an alternative system, as the business felt that DDM was not appropriate to be used as an eQMS. Pros The potential level of control, and the potential applications. It is really good software if everyone uses it has relatively good computer literacy. Cons It was difficult to configure compared to alternatives, and the software is not easy to use for someone who is unfamiliar with computers. Engineering Manager Furniture Used the software for: 2+ years ### "CSI Design Data Manager" July 17, 2019 5.0 The goal was to keep tight control of the drawings, seamlessly revision management, easy access to the database inside and outside the company. Having experience with other PLM/PDM systems I could say that DDM exceeded my expectations. Pros Flexibility, stability, intuitive, easy to maintain. There is no need to have someone dedicated for maintaining. Out of the box multi-CAD: Creo, SolidWorks, SolidEdge, Inventor, IronCAD, AutoCAD all in one CAD license. Web based interface which allows suppliers/customers to directly and securely access assigned data. Very prompt and professional technical support. As a customer you can really get to know the people behind it all which is a huge advantage over other solutions from much larger organisations. Pros The product is intuitive and easy to use with lots of functionality and the ability for the end user to configure the system to their own requirements. The company are forever moving forward to keep the software up to date an relevant. Cons Nothing in particular. If you do run into problems the team are there to help and support you in resolving any issues. Reason for choosing DDM If you are looking for a system that delivers across multiple applications and provides huge potential for configuring the software to best suit your own needs then look no further. Pros DDM will work with nurmerous other software packages and is not tied to any specific one. Vendor is very responsive. Cons There are more features and functionality than we need - not really a downside - you just use what you want. Reason for choosing DDM Better price more flexible.
