Its good for small inventory management or contact management. The software is fast and self container, its hard to mess up. Cons It does not scale as well as other database services. If you are using it with more than 100 users or more than 100k records of data, you're not going to get the same performance you expect. For small uses, its perfect though. Pros It's really easy to build fully functional tools in a really short amount of time. The WYSIWYG style of building UI is awesome! Cons Import records could be faster and more robust. Pros Find it easy to use and develop database apps, especially since I was a Dbase user back in the day. Has the look and feel I expect in a database program. Cons Deploying apps is a little confusing and expensive unless you’re a larger company. Reason for choosing Claris FileMaker I liked the traditional look and feel of FileMaker as compared to the newer generation of software. July 18, 2019 3.0 Pros FileMaker, once set up, is quite reliable. It runs on our server with no issue for months and months at a time without a crash or issue. It also has some neat features if you can get them to work. Cons The setup process for FileMaker can be much more complicated and confusing (not very straightforward), unlike other database solutions. You can definitely tell that it is developed by Apple and not intended for use on Windows Servers/workstations. Review Source AH Al H. As I go further down the rabbit hole, I am finding that there are so many tools to aid in my ability to create unique business solutions. Cons While FileMaker has what seems to be an endless amount of possibilities, it can make it difficult to feel like you know what you are doing.
