Pros It was very easy to set-up the software with our IT department's direction. It took all of five minutes to complete the installation and log-in to remotely access my work desktop. Cons Splashtop can be laggy and has trouble rendering certain colors (like red), that make it impossible to do anything with video and difficult to view certain spreadsheets. We've had the software for two weeks, and so far, there was on 24 hour period where there was a total software outage and we could not use Splashtop at all. This was problematic as our remote users frequently needed remote control access to their desktop PC. Splashtop not only eliminated the dropped sessions problem, but was noticeably quicker responding in use. Fantastic product, great people to work with, too. Pros This software is faster than GoToMyPC in use, and is MUCH more stable! Users love it. Easy to use. Cons The setup process could be a bit clearer, when it comes to access controls for the computer being controlled, but once set up, it's fantastic... Reason for choosing Splashtop Highly reviewed, so we started a trial. It fixed our problems, was faster in use, and cheaper! August 1, 2020 5.0 While the Remote Support product is pretty easy to figure out, there were a few questions along the way. The support team was very responsive - I used email and chat options. Pros We reviewed several products for our company and Splashtop handled our primary needs for supporting our workstations remotely. One of the biggest pros was the inclusion of the employee remote access to their PC's - especially during these WFH times! We ended up saving a substantial amount of money due to the consolidation of IT Remote Support tool and the Employee Remote Access into one product. Cons I wish there were more alerts and reporting available, as well as more information provided for each workstation. November 21, 2017 4.0 You can access a computer that you've previously installed on from any computer that has an internet connection through their browser. There is nothing to install on the computer you are accessing from. To set up this is easy run the software on the computer you wish to be able to access, and set the software to allow accessing that computer from the Internet. Pros The ability to access teams remotely access own computers and shared computers with any device. MSP, IT professionals, service providers, and helpdesks can remotely support their clients, computers and provide them with remote access. I like that about the applications Cons Continue to develop and improve on the application. Its is a challenge to access a computer that you've previously installed on from any computer that has an internet connection through their browser. I have not once had a problem with Splashtop Business. It is just like I am sitting at the computer at the restaurant. Pros I do not have to go to my restaurant to fix problems with our point of sale system. Instead I can remote in from home and fix the majority of problems. It has been super reliable, MUCH easier to deploy than GoToMyPC, and cost is reasonable. Pros It took almost no effort at all to get a customer connected via this software. Instructions to the customer were one sentence: "Go to and tell me the number." Performance is fast - no noticeable latency. Cons File transfer is not drag and drop - you need to click a file-transfer button and then browse to your files. Reason for choosing Splashtop Price much better with Splashtop. Sign up and deployment was a breeze. We've used similar products from other companies in the past and we're saving huge amounts of money by switching to Splashtop and we haven't lost any features that we were used to. Its very customizable in terms of what users can access which devices. It's very user friendly as well. Installation options are great. I personally use deploy codes so settings are simple and users can begin accessing devices immediately after deployment. There are a lot of features and they add new ones regularly. Cons The connection can be a bit bad. There is significant latency often, but not always. I find that Windows integrated remote desktop connection has less latency, but is not nearly as user friendly as splashtop. Review Source RK Ruth K. When NY shutdown and our "essential" business had to reduce the number of workers at the office, I was left scrambling to find a solution for accessing my computer (and the company's network) from home. Pros Love the drag-and-drop file transfer feature, it's saved me the hassle of going into work to copy files to a removable hard drive. Cons Very minor issue, but there are times when the connection is slow (maybe 1 out of 10 times). Users/Employees no longer have to fumble to create a code and try to learn new software. Pros The best feature was being able to place the installer in the shared network drive and have users just be able to double click to more or less auto install the product. Cons I can't think of anything yet. I think the latency is a little off but for the price it meets the latency of Teamviewer, RealVNC and others. The cost is much less and ease of use is much better. Specifically, fewer steps to get logged on is a tremendous bonus. Cons I don't know if it's a con but for me, there are too many options in the software. I just need the simple log-in but if you accidentally hit a button you may have to learn to fix it to make it work the way you want. Not without credentials, or without help from the user of course, but it was a good, functional way to remote in to client's computers. Cons Sometimes difficult to get a session started, as some interactions with the remote user can be challenging. Also, it doesn't seem to like slower Internet connections. Will drop off kinda easily. Now, I can work from home if necessary or make changes when I'm away for a weekend. Easy to use. Their tech walked me through the process. I thought it would be difficult, it was not. Logmein did not give an option to show the two monitors of my desktop side by side on one screen, to make dragging easy. Pros Splashtop enables quick access to my desktop when working remotely on a laptop. It has been easy to contact helpful customer service. Splashtop is excellent value compared to Logmein used previously. My desktop has two monitors and Splashtop gives the option of switching between the monitors or showing both side by side on one screen. Cons I have not yet found any downsides to using Splashtop. I've used other popular software in the past but comparing cost vs. features, Splashtop wins hands down. Pros It was so easy to purchase, administer, and implement. From deciding to purchase to being able to use it on multiple computers took only a couple of hours with minimal learning involved. Being able to work as if you were sitting right at your remote computer is impressive. No lagging has been noticed, and remote print and the ability to drag and drop files is seamless. Cons We've been using this software on a daily basis for the past two months and so far haven't found any limitations whatsoever, it's just like being at the office but better! Pros As an independent worker, I use Splashtop to access my computers from different work sites and it works very well and reliably. Cons Its file transfer function is unable to synchronise the files in directory structures. It either rewrite them or skips the whole.
