It takes only a few minutes to grasp the platform and onboarding process is helpful. Pros All the accounting business needs for invoicing and billing in one solution. It is the most user-friendly and comprehensive accounting platform I have used. The available integrations of Zoho Books enable a lot of ease for sending and tracking quotes and invoices. Cons It is a great platform overall. The user interface is smooth and fast overall. If the UI elements like the menu were improved even further it would make the user experience even better. All other accounting users should start thinking how they can upgrade themselves. Pros Great value of money, extreme warm and good support, extremely easy to use without the need for any training or support intervention, Payment using Zoho to our vendors is so good, it cannot be overemphasized. Data management is so good, i am uploading all the invoices too in the application. Our customers can see their statement on a real time. Havent experienced any bug, there was one concern which was fixed immediately. and i'd recommend it for both small business as well as large organisation. It helps me keep my finances organized and makes my accounting tasks easier. It is dependable, easy to use, and meets most of my business requirements. Pros The simple user interface and ease with which invoices, expenses, and reports can be managed were my favorite features. It is great for small businesses and easy to use. Cons The fact that more advanced features necessitate higher-tier plans and that integrations with third-party apps can sometimes feel restricted or a little clunky were the things I didn't like the most. June 22, 2025 5.0 We slashed billing mistakes and gained better visibility into cash flow. Our audit was shortened as well, as a result of the clean reconciliation and reporting capabilities. Pros Zoho Books made our recurring invoicing a whole hell of a lot easier. We saved on manual tracking and reduced late payments with automated reminders and payment follow-ups. From the community forums, I learn that most of the world uses it. The Invoicing, expenses, tax compliance, collaboration and customer support are all top-notch! While there is still scope for improvement, for my use case, it does a great job!! Pros The great part about Zoho Books is the dashboard and reports. Dashboard gives a very good overview of the finances and the health of organization. Reports are a great way to break things down for more clarifity. Cons Pricing! I find it a tad bit expensive. For a company in a good shape though, it would be a great product but for bootstrapped start-ups, it is a little expensive. They have a free version but I needed some premium features for my use case. They also give out credits for start-ups which could be used for a year. You send an invoice, check a few boxes, done. It’s not trying to impress, and that’s fine. Pros Helps when you’ve got more than one thing on the go. The customization options are also a huge plus. Cons It doesn't have some simple functions and features that other accounting softwares have, such as the ability to chnage how all the names appear (i.e. first, last vs. last, first). it can get a little confusing with how payments are applied and dded to the system as well. Tech support is usually no help, or they tell you that your question is a great idea for their IT team to use and then you never hear back from them again. Review Source DS David S. Cloud-based with a solid mobile app so good for being on the go. Free tier offers a low-risk entry point. Not really a seamless alternative to QB but works well for basic accounting and invoicing. Pros Favorite feature: automated invoicing and payment tracking. Generating invoices is easy; recurring invoices and payment integration helps with cash flow management. Mobile app is a plus, gives real-time access to financials. Free plan for businesses under $50K in revenue is good and we use it with Zoho Expense and it works seamlessly. Pros This software it's very easy to setup and start using it. Even the free version is very rich in functionality. Once you have set it up you can also install the mobile app to keep up with the business. You can even create customer on the mobile app, invoice them, recon payment and send statements. The recurring schedule invoice are such a great feature. You can even setup reminders for unpaid invoices. For the same price of a QuickBooks subscription, I was able to purchase a license to Zoho One, which comes with dozens of other valuable apps (Zoho Forms, Zoho CRM, Zoho Survey, Zoho Social, Zoho Marketing Automation, Zoho Analytics, Zoho Sign, Zoho Meeting, Zoho Desk, Zoho Projects, Zoho Expenses, Zoho Recruit, Zoho Flow). I did the math recently, and figured out that if I were to buy each of the Zoho applications I use from an equivalent competitor, I would be spending $600 more than the cost of a Zoho One subscription each month. For Zoho Books in particular, it has all of the features I used in QuickBooks, plus easy-to-use workflow automations and integrations with the rest of the Zoho One suite. It's very helpful to be able to cross-reference Zoho Books data within their CRM for example. Overall, I highly recommend Zoho Books, but encourage you to purchase the full Zoho One suite rather than Books as a standalone application. Cons I wish they had a few more payment processors available. Coming from Freshbooks and paying a hefty fee for it I was not only limited in terms of features (and paypal support) but also somewhat bored with their lackluster interface. Zoho was great and hit all the marks for me, the interface is simple and intuitive and the price point at my scale is just unbeatable. I can't see any other accounting system after using Zoho Books. Pros This is the best bang for buck you can get if you are a startup, an independent freelancer or just need invoicing to start. There is no other system comparable with Zoho at this price point. Cons There are many features I didn't test because they are out of realm for my specific needs. I am sure for others they might be important but if these were "enabled as needed" rather than always there cluttering the interface that would be better. Reason for choosing Zoho Books Price and features are at the top of the list here. There is absolutely no comparison with Freshbooks. Freshbooks charges more for less features. I simply created an account, configured our company details, and utilized the standard invoice template, making minor adjustments to resemble our previous format.Contact Management:Importing our contacts into Zoho Books was a breeze and took approximately 10 minutes. I downloaded an Excel file from our database and effortlessly imported all the necessary information.Invoicing:Creating new invoices proved to be just as simple as managing contacts. By uploading an Excel file, the system automatically matched the invoices with the appropriate contacts (if desired). You can even save them as drafts for further review, and once ready, send them out in bulk. It is a software that is extremely helpful when it comes to setting up a workflow that will benefit our work environment, and it provides useful solutions to manage payments, invoices, and all the financial data that comes with it, it has made everything easier because we don't have to worry about manually processing every payment or manually creating and sending an invoice, with Zoho Books, all these things become simple and we are able to keep a directory with all the crucial information for payments and invoices. Pros Zoho Books is an accounting software that provides the best experience when automating the accounting workflow. It has a great variety of tools that help enhance the process and I like how once the data has been imported, it only takes a few clicks to process payments and other billing options. Also, the option to manage all invoices is pretty beneficial, it allows me to keep track of all the payments that clients need to make and it provides a place where I can keep track of these invoices every month and know how much people owe our business; thanks to this feature, it also allows me to process payments differently, because I can have all the data in this single place and it makes it easier to integrate with many payment options so everything is done quicker, providing a nice experience for both ourselves as a business and for our clients. I like that Zoho Books is very user-friendly and it was not difficult to import all the data in order to start using it. Cons I think that the customer support is lacking a lot, it feels like they keep trying to be responsive but still, they do take a lot of time to get back to you once reached out. Now at a glance, I can see money coming and I have an overview of how the business is performing. Tax season is no longer a complete nightmare as everything we need is in Zoho Books. Pros Zoho Books is extremely easy to use. I love that I now have 1 place where I do all my invoicing and that I can customise the invoices to my own branding. I love that I can send the invoice to clients directly from the software and then have auto reminders go out to the clients as well as send a Thank you when I receive payment. I also love the ability to link it to my business bank account – so I can reconcile my invoices and transactions easily. Come tax season my accountant can easily access all the reports she needs for any period. Cons At first, it was a bit tricky to understand how to link up my bank account but eventually managed to figure it out.
