### "Terrible technical support and constant broken bank feeds"

September 14, 2022

3.0

Pros

The price was good with lots of features but you get what you pay for.

Cons

The technical support is terrible. We had broken bank feeds for over a month with no resolution. When the bank feeds would import they were missing transactions which causes a huge reconciliation nightmare. When dealing with the technical support they just said try to refresh your bank feeds. lol. Finally got them to escalate it but not sure if that will fix it. We are spending a huge amount of time trying to manually enter and clean up the bank records.

### "The best online accounting system"

December 20, 2022

5.0

Prior to Zoho Books I was using an excel spreadsheet to run my business. Now it's much easier and way more effective to use Zoho Books.

Pros

I use Zoho Books to keep track of the day to day running of my business from income, expenses, billing and reporting.

Cons

nothing that I can think of, it's a great product and continues to evolve with new features all the time.

### "Migrated from Wave to Zoho Books. Horrible experience"

May 12, 2023

3.0

Precious time wasted. After reading their manuals, watching their videos, Googling answers, I finally had a one-on-one training session with a trainer who advised me to employ the services of a Zoho-experienced accountant in South Africa. We had thought that because of Wave Accounting's recommendation, that Zoho Books would be similarly user-friendly and intuitive. It is not at all.

Pros

They seem to have an impressive array of apparently useful functions.

Cons

This is the most non-intuitive, difficult, cumbersome, obscure programme I have ever worked with. Example: even in deleting our account after wasting hours trying to become functional, the instructions seemed to be clear: Log in to your account. Click the user picture. Click My Account. In the account page, select the Preferences tab. Click Close Account in the left menu. Except THERE IS NO PREFERENCES TAB IN THE LEFT MENU. They forgot to tell you to click on Settings first, and THEN select Preferences. A perfect example of what to expect from the entire platform.

Reason for choosing Zoho Books

Because of Wave's recommendation.

Switched from

[Wave](https://www.capterra.com/p/178021/Wave-Apps/)

Because Wave recommended South African users switch to Zoho.

### "If you have Zoho CRM This product is a must"

October 10, 2017

5.0

Pros

This product Hooks up easily to Zoho CRM. The product works almost fluidly with the CRM. it makes it easy to see each client payment and how much we have received each month. The information the books hold really helps for some financial reports. The Reports do make my life easier kindof. Books make it easy to bill clients and it keeps all the information in one place.

Cons

The Reports as mention in my pros are missing some really good information that is already there in the system. They want me to pay for Zoho reports, but to my understanding Zoho reports, I would still need to go in and set it up. In our business every month we have to pay out our salespeople. fist I'm not able to split commissions easily or add multiple salespeople to an invoice. second, if I look up sales by salesperson by month it gives me all invoices created in the month, not all invoice paid. We sell expensive web projects and could take months to close. so it is unhelpful for me to see monthly sales report because it is not correct. they also have a "payments received" a report that comes in Zoho books. This report gives me monthly sales but does not add the sales person to the report. So I build a report that takes 30 min to an hour top. I have asked them to fix this and they told me to get Zoho reports

### "I love this software! (really!)"

February 8, 2019

5.0

I love ZohoBooks, my team loves ZohoBooks and my customers do too!

Pros

Almost everything. ZohoBooks is quick and easy to use, I love the Stripe integrations and how easy it is to use Zapier to extend its capabilities by connecting it with other software. I've received calls from customers that use Quickbooks asking about the software we use to send invoices because its so easy to use! I'll never use anything else to run my businesses. My CPA is working with it too now which makes it a super easy, integral part of my business.

Cons

I can't think of anything off the top of my head.

### "Good software for beginners"

January 13, 2021

5.0

Zoho Books made my job easier and saved me a lot of time.

Pros

Zoho Book is a good software if you are starting out in a small business. What impresses me most about Zoho Book is the BRS statement. It's an excellent feature that prints all the required details very clearly, just as we intended. The automated bank flow is another feature that saves you a lot of time. The advantage of Zoho Books is that it can be linked to your online sales sites easily.

Another positive aspect of Zoho Books is that its delivery always comes with many integrated functionalities such as stock management, sales and purchase booking, payroll processing, etc. To conclude, Zoho Books is easy to understand and its configuration is quick and easy. The automation of the system is great and you save a lot of time. The customer support is also very responsive and usually fixes your worries.

Cons

The major problem with Zoho Book is that it is only practical with a small business. It is better to choose another software like Wave if your business is large. Finally, the other blockage is that Zoho Books is based on the Cloud so without a connection you can go and have a nice cup of hot coffee (LOL).

### "ZOHO Books integrates with ZOHO CRM"

March 5, 2019

5.0

The experience has been great. Customer service is there to answer any questions.

Pros

I am a long time ZOHO user and I like the fact that all their products are integrated. You don't have to license everything you need at once. You can build it over time. I also like that you can add on other software through third parties to ZOHO Books.

Cons

using a plug in Forte you can process payments to vendors and refunds to customers. I wish that ZOHO Books would also enable paying of payroll tax - like QuickBooks. Perhaps this is something they are working on.

### "Excellent online accounting software for small businesses"

July 30, 2022

4.0

Pros

It is very easy to use and does not require one to be an expert or have the technical knowledge to use the platform. Comes at a very low price which is great. You can easily manage all your documents online and offer great custom fields. Offers great integration and customer services.

Cons

I personally would not recommend the platform for managing time or projects, as it lacks that capability. There are also limitations on the number of users.

### "Great for a small business"

December 3, 2019

5.0

We moved from an ancient copy of Billings (a Mac-only program), and chose Zoho over the main competition based on ease of use and the need to handle customer retainers smoothly.

Pros

The setup is fairly straightforward, and the learning curve is very manageable. It's really nice to have a good (and reasonable) set of defaults for categories and account structure. That made initial use and customization pretty easy to do. The documentation is generally good, and tip links are numerous.

Cons

The only thing I find even slightly annoying is that the feed connection to the bank account is often "broken", but on the positive side the status is clear and whatever issues exist seem to fix themselves automatically within a day or two. It's not really a show-stopper; it's just annoying when I want to "clean up" things and the bank feed isn't fully current.

Zoho was less expensive than QuickBooks, and seemed to be more approachable. Wave didn't handle retainers as well (at least at that time).

### "Great choice for small to large businesses or even freelancers"

June 30, 2021

5.0

I tried quite few invoicing systems and this is the one im sticking with. Made my life so much easier and everything works like a pro.

Pros

The invoicing system, automations and customizations are a huge asset and with Zoho you get the full package. Really like the way things work and how easy they are done. Once you have everything set up, then invoicing becomes easy as 1,2,3

Cons

A bit more complex for the average Joe but not a big deal. Another cons you pay for the core but to unlock more features (that are supposed to be included in the core) you have to pay extra. But with workarounds you can get similar results

### "Perfect for Small Businesses, Falters a Bit as You Get Bigger ($3 million+ ARR)"

July 23, 2019

4.0

Pros

Incredibly good value for the price (way cheaper than Freshbooks/Quickbooks) Integrates well with the rest of the Zoho suite Close to everything you'd want from a cloud bookkeeping software

Cons

No payroll (which is a game breaker for some, we're small enough that it doesn't really matter) Missing little nice features from Quickbooks like true reporting tags Freelance bookkeepers don't usually have experience with it

### "Zoho books - my best friend!"

January 6, 2022

4.0

With Zoho we are able to easily stay on top of our finances with limited effort required. The ability to correct historical errors easily makes maintaining and accurate general ledger a breeze. I really like the professional look and feel of the documents generated such as invoices, orders etc.

Pros

With unparalleled customisation and ease of use as well as the the ability to correct previous errors Zoho books has made the accounting function so much simpler than our previous software. The automation of numerous tasks has been especially useful. The professional way in which we are able to engage with our customers and suppliers has also raised our credibility.

Cons

Probably the only criticism I can raise is that the reporting section could offer more month by month reports as a standard feature, although they may be easily configured using the tool provided.

Reason for choosing Zoho Books

### "Its automated bank feeds set Zoho Books distinct from other accounting programmes."

March 1, 2023

5.0

In conclusion, Zoho Books is a fantastic accounting programme that provides a wealth of functionality, automation, and potent reporting tools. It is the perfect option for small and medium-sized organisations due to its user-friendly design and reasonable pricing.

Pros

Moreover, Zoho Books provides powerful reporting features that let users create a range of reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Businesses can make wise judgements thanks to these reports' insightful analyses of their financial performance. With the reduction of human data entry, accuracy rises and processing times decrease.

Cons

Some users might discover that the software is not as customised as they would want. Although it has a variety of functions, there might not be many ways to customise the software to meet particular business needs.Learning curve: There may be a learning curve for individuals who are unfamiliar with accounting software before they become proficient in using Zoho Books. To assist users in getting started, the software does provide helpful training and support.

### "Zoho Books reconciles bank statement automatically and GST filing is way better than anything else."

May 10, 2020

4.0

Overall, it's a boon, If you are in India then this is the takeaway software as it helps ease in filing GST reports.

Pros

This software when I started using I thought I made a wrong choice but as in when I started managing my accounts & Books for my business, It became my friend, an accountant indeed it did everything that an accountant would do with very little accounting knowledge. The best part is if you are a startup company and you do not have strict compliances then this is for you, you don't have to hire an accountant and DIY. :)

Cons

Support is the only part which sometimes made me upset as the Employees were not uniformly assisting as if they were not trained on customer service. The worse thing is they just have support for technical help and no bookkeeping support.

### "Zoho Books is perfect for any size business, especially smaller businesses!"

July 10, 2018

5.0

Pros

One of the best things about Zoho Books is that it is Scalable for any size business, and being that it runs in the Cloud, you don't need to worry about in house servers to run the app or any backup services. Zoho handles all of that for you!

Cons

The downside is that it's price for the premium plan costs almost the same as upgrading to their Zoho One OS for Business which give you access to this and 40 other apps they offer, many of which you may not need.

Worst in invoice and purchase we cannot add more then 150 products even if we add and the screen takes more then 1 hour to open if there are 500+ products best in 25%

Pros

Cons

No proper meaning of backup.. only data exports but any images of products they dont export then why to mention as backup they should mention as data export.. expense print layout is against the income tax rules.. if any invoice is having more than 200 products the invoice will not open which is useless from zoho "
