I used this while I was a business professional, a computer programmer and now even as a small business owner. It is versatile and dependable. Pros Wow, the possibilities! I was using this long before Zoom, or Google Classroom, or even Google Meets. This software is my go to when I am setting up new software, talking to customers from afar or even meeting locals on a tight schedule. . It doesn't cutout like Skype and it has fast upload speeds compared to all other software I have used. Cons Correct me if I am wrong but if I used this on a daily basis as a host I had to may a fee and was only allowed so many participants. At times I was expecting more in the professional plan that what was offered but it is worth the cost. Theoretically this tool should work like other, similar videoconferencing tools. Cons We ended up switching away from join.me for multiple reasons: (1) Constant updates that made it too difficult to maintain our internal support documentation; (2) Updates that fundamentally changed join behavior for Hosts and Participants; (3) Limited and poor support for awhile, then no support at all. No one uses it, and I had to keep telling my customers on sales calls how it's just the same thing as Microsoft Teams or Zoom, when in fact it's an inferior product. Cons There is no way to remove my credit card from their system. There is no way to cancel my subscription. I contacted support, and they said you need to give them 30-days notice. After they confirmed my account had been cancelled, I still received a charge. Pros This software let you exceed the maximum video participants in a conference, you can do live streaming meeting very easy. Join.Me is a simple and convenient video conferencing service that allows me to communicate with my students and demonstrate the photo editing process in real-time. I can easily share my screen with students, show them how to work with graphic tools, and answer their questions in real-time. I also use the recording function so that my students can review the lessons at any convenient time if they need to repeat a certain technique. Join.Me is very easy to use. To start a conference, all I need to do is send a link to my students, who can join the lesson from any device. January 21, 2021 5.0 Over the years they have been helpful in changing the number of seats we needed and upgraded us when we needed additional features. They have always been pleasant to work with. Pros The ability to share your screen from both parties. Allowing you to train, but also see what they are struggling with and help them on their own computer. Cons We sometimes have difficulties with establishing the connection from our client side. If your time is limited and it takes 10 minutes to get everyone connected you have lost valuable time. Reason for choosing GoTo Meeting At the time we need to both share our screen and sometimes change to view their screen. Join.me didn't have that option at the time. We did have a few Join.me seats for sales, for presentation purposes only. It's easy to create an account and the price is affordable for everyone. If you want you can even record your webinar and then downland to check how it went. It does what it promises. Pros One of the best features is that it integrates with our phone system and makes it very easy to set up a meeting or activate a meeting quickly when needed. It also integrates well with other GoTo products and the more you use it, the better it gets. Cons Because it integrates with other GoTo products, sometimes it’s hard to know if I’m signed into my personal account or to our team account for webinars. The login is the same and sometimes it takes a couple of minutes to switch profiles. A moment of panic, but usually not a big deal. Review Source MS MICHAEL S. DevOps Manager Information Technology and Services Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Simple Meeting Software Thats Much Cheaper and More Intuitive than Competitors" August 17, 2018 5.0 I initially got an account for my organization with GoToMeeting because of recurring issues with WebEx and we needed a quick fix for a big sales meeting with a prospective client. GoToMeeting stood up an account for us, and had a support engineer work with me to have everything ready to go within an hour. Fast forward a year later, and I'm advocating that we move off of WebEx entirely and only on to GoToMeeting. Its cheaper, and significantly better in my opinion. Whats not to like about that? Pros The simplicity of starting an account and getting right to hosting meetings. It is significantly easier than WebEx, and the pricing is a thousand times better. There are of course restrictions on how many can attend your meetings (you'll have to pay more for a higher number of possible attendees), but that is to be expected. Adding authorized users, recording meetings, screen sharing, and taking control are all things that GoToMeeting does better than its competitors, several of which I have to use frequently. Cons Some of the restrictions on adding Administrators or people able to host meetings are not ideal, as I need to pay more to be able to have more Administrators so they can host their own meetings. I know most meeting software tools do this, but pricing tiers like this is the one complaint I have for GoToMeeting. Review Source AS Amit S. The web-based software has its advantages, no download needed. Extremely easy and Scalable Tool for the organisation. The User Interface is light and modern which helps easy to understand. The ability to share my screen with my clients and show them the possibilities of their system is a big plus and also to be able to transfer control of the screen to my client is another big win for GoToMeeting Pros I like that when I need to set up a a remote meeting with clients that I can really create a meeting and send a simple link to them. Pros It's a superb way to keep communications steady. We have people all over the states and of our providers is on the other side of the world so having an easy to use, reliable piece of software is a must for our internal communication. Distance is not an excuse anymore to keep procedures and keeping the team on the same page. It's easy to share your screen, make somebody else the coodinator and setting up the meetings. Cons Sometimes it's hard to set up the microphone. Using the phone is a solution, but this happens with less "technical" people. Also it can feedback easyly but that might have to be because of the software. I'm a huge GoTo fan but like this for it's pure simplicity and excellent home option. Pros I have used in a business environment but really became a fan as I used it to help my family members learn to perform various tasks on their PC. Also helpful to fix things that they messed up! Cons I know due to security it won't allow you to change/control some things while in remote control mode but other than that limitation I love the product! I am very happy with this software. Pros It is very easy to use and can be downloaded and installed on any device anywhere in the world. I can start a meeting or remote session within minutes. Cons Some clients have pop-up blockers oar firewalls that will block the installation of this product but 99% I have success starting a meeting within a couple of minutes. Cons GoToMeeting seems to have minimal features compared to its competitors. The calls drop a lot, and when you first pick up your calls you can't hear the other person and they can't hear you for at least 20 seconds, so there is a lot of "hello's" back and forth until the call connects and both parties can hear each other. I only use GTM when I have to talk to someone at a firm that uses GTM, and they have a policy against using zoom. Pros I have never liked go to meeting. My experience has always been that someone at an awful company who uses Go To Meeting sends me a calendar invite, and i have to download some software in order to use it, and then i don't think about it again until the next time someone sends me a GTM invite, when I inevitably have to update the software to use it Cons everything. I honestly can't stand this software. 5-10 years ago there wasn't a clear leader in this space, and people used this, blue jeans, etc. but after the pandemic, zoom is the clear winner, with google hangouts also in the mix.
