After using more webinar and meeting platforms, I have a strong preference for Zoom. Pros GoToMeeting is great for recording traditional webinars that do not require a great deal of participant interaction. Over time, GoToMeeting expanded to separate GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar to suit different use cases. Our organization had a subscription to GoToMeeting so we continued to use the platform for traditional webinars and small virtual meetings. Cons After using Zoom more extensively during the pandemic, I developed a greater preference for Zoom. As the host organization, we have higher technical ability. However, it was easier for participants with little experience with computers to learn and interact in Zoom. The breakout sessions and reactions also put Zoom ahead in my book. Customer Project Manager Financial Services Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Microsoft teams is one of the best communicators " June 18, 2021 3.0 Overall this software is a go to for any company that I ever worked for and I am certain it will stay like that for a long time, as they do work and improve on things. Pros Since Microsoft teams is the part of the package with other programs it makes it easier to invest in it and implement it, as we know everything is compatible. Easy to use, very useful and definitely worth the money. My favourite features are: Real time chats that saves you writing emails back and forth, A quick call straight away if you need to resolve something urgently without the need to create a meeting, Sending files within seconds, Creating channels, so that your team can catch up on all the work they do throughout the day and everything is in a one place. Cons I am really disappointed that my teams meeting function doesn’t work as it should. It should include the dial in details and it never does, nor could I find info online how to fix it. The other issue is searching the chats. Whilst you are in the conversation with someone you should be able to search only in theirs conversation, not search through all the chats. It is the company wide go to software for all and it does make connecting with virtual teams much simpler. I think there is something for everyone in this software and it will only get better with time. Pros This software is extremely helpful when you are working with a team that is either located in different states domestically or different countries internationally. It is an online platform and browser based so pretty much very very easy to get started. Just setup a account, open browser, go to their website and log in. The software has made useful features but the ones that I have used and like the most are, - Setup Recurring meetings (so I don't have to go back and do it over and over again) - Switch between presenters (you can give authority to other participants and let them share their screen) - Give authority for keyboard and mouse (they can control your screen from their end which at times has been life saver for me) - Very easy to user user interface (All options are right there on the goto window and it can be either maximized or minimized) - Says who is speaking (When you hear a voice you can see on the bottom of the screen who is speaking at the moment) - Can have lot of participants ( I scratch the surface for number of attendees I can have during the meeting.) - Webcam option (Yes you can choose to enable disable webcam so others can see you) - Chat option (if you can't hear someone type a message on chat and see if they respond back) - Record (I haven't used this feature but i bet it would come handy when you do a massive presentation and not everyone can attend but you want them to see what they missed) I think it should satisfy most people and companies needs Cons I have had many issues with this software. I also like the ability to click on any of the recordings and take a quick peek at the notes I’ve made during the meeting. Another thing I like about GoToMeeting is it works on pretty much any internet connection, including dial up and even at times things don’t work as well. The interface is easy to use and no matter the connection, the sound quality is great. Pros Go To Meeting offers a wide range of features that are useful for both small group and online meetings, including HD video, audio, screen sharing, and file transfers. It also offers private and public rooms, document sharing, and a host of other features. There is also a free version of the software, which is pretty basic in comparison to other video conferencing programs, but it is a useful tool to get you started with the program and learn how to use it. The software also provides a free 14-day trial and is fairly inexpensive, depending on the number of participants. If you have a small group, one or two people, I recommend the free version. If you have larger numbers of participants, you may want to consider upgrading to the pro version. One of the best features of GoToMeeting is that it is very easy to set up, and once you have it set up, you can usually access it from any computer, including your tablet or smartphone. Once the program is installed on your computer, you will have access to the software from anywhere. GoTo Meeting ranks highest in my best Conference call tools since this platform offers all the tools one needs to run a successful business meeting, Conference calls, Team Meetings and stands out for its exceptional call quality, robust features, and excellent customer care services. Cons Some drawbacks of online meeting sites are: – Lacks of the Personal Touch. While the Skype for Business (Skype) has a personal touch in it, it is relatively expensive compared to other online conferencing vendors. – It can be difficult to work around internet outages. While the VOIP (Voice Over internet Protocol) is able to function without internet, it only lasts for a relatively short time. The only way around this issue is to use a secure internet connection, which is not the best option for laptops. – It is difficult to view large files. When the internet connection is too slow or unstable, it can cause issues with the video and audio quality. – This option can not be used for video conferencing as it only allows screen sharing and not video. What I would like to sugggest is it would be a useful tool for the meeting if u can update the screen share. I have a machine that does not have a microphone but it does have a camera and I would like to use that machine. I am sure thats what most people would like. I am sure it would be a lot easier to use. May 27, 2022 5.0 On multiple occasions we were able to deal with a huge number of video files obtained from competitors or others who were providing research materials. Six of us were able to work on the files together, get our projects done and remain in real time touch with each other's progress, which was a huge help against a deadline! Pros What I liked best was the simplicity of use, unlike similar programs that required too many moving parts. Join.Me was ease of use at its best, so even a newbie can host a video conference call with great confidence. The minimal set up needed is why I recommended it to a colleague at a magazine who is not tech-savvy, she needed something that was not complex to use and that gives great results. Join.Me was the perfect choice. Cons While there is nothing that I 'like least,' in my experience we can go up to 10 users but looking forward, the ability to loop in additional users beyond that number might be useful. I do not like Zoom for a variety of reasons but it can sustain more users (However I do not like the look of dozens of users appearing like pixelated boxes. I also love the companion product GoToWebinar that I've used for many webinars over the last several years. GoToMeeting has gained such good adoption that it has integrations everywhere with tools like Google Calendar, Chrome, Zapier, and others. We used GoToMeeting for years for internal meetings, sales calls--basically any meeting with remote participants. I've even used it to pull church members into my Sunday School class on weekends that are homebound because of illness. I like how you can create a persistent link that you can go to every time rather than having to set up a new link for every meeting. Just be careful if you're having back to back meetings with the same link--otherwise, you get the next audience showing up at the tail end of the current meeting. I solved that by creating two persistent links and alternating them when I have back to back meetings. Price is right. When purchasing multiple licenses you can get the price down. It's also very stable in almost every environment including mobile meetings so you can participate in meetings on the go. It requires a simple install that I've never had anyone have a problem with. Cons It takes more bandwidth than competitors like Zoom.us for similar functionality. Chat is limited to chatting within the meeting rather than creating chat rooms inside your company for teams to collaborate on then hop on a remote meeting. It's meant to be used every time you want to meet rather than an ongoing collaboration tool all of the time. I think they could learn something from Zoom about this. The collaboration between the cross team members have improved drastically and we are able to conduct work from home efficiently with the help of Join.me. Pros Join.me helps the remote team members collaborate with each other efficiently online. The audio calls, video conferencing, messaging is highly smooth with Join.me. Users can also share their screen for better discussions and text each other during the meetings. Another great feature is screen recording which allows us to share the meetings with all the team members to access the meetings later on. Cons The new users need some learning curve to use the product effectively. A few times the servers were down and we weren't able to do meetings. The issue generally gets resolved within couple of hours. Join.me is not widely used across the industry currently and sometimes our clients have to take extra effort to use join.me. It has been a good experience to be able to securely share private documents that only those in the company have access to, limiting access to other external chat users, increasing security and trust. Integration with other departments of the organization was improved, thus being able to have communication in one place. The most useful thing about GoTo Meeting is being able to create groups so you can easily discuss between teams and sub-teams from different departments or different topics. This platform has also been of great help when we want to communicate with clients who are remote, being able to schedule meetings with them without having to be in the same room. Pros It is simple to access and implement, there is no need for cumbersome registration or complicated logins. It is very intuitive to be able to use the mobile application since it makes it easy to maintain communication and take into account notifications when you are not stuck on the PC. I like that it includes remote access to the screen of other members of the team in my organization, and it is also easy to make calls and video conferences. It is very complete, because it is not only chat, groups, calls, videoconferences; it can also be integrated with calendars, notes and email, making this a great integration for an organization's communication. The function of "raising your hand" is very useful to be able to have the floor within a video conference, it maintains the order and linearity of a conversation on any topic that is being debated. Cons It has connection failures when it is in the background, making it so that it doesn't know if I have new messages, this doesn't happen often but at a random time. The chat seems not to be instantaneous, sometimes it happens in calls but it is not common like in chat, the internet connection and other chat platforms have been verified and there was no problem. I should be able to answer the call on the PC because it only rings on my phone but if I want to be comfortably on the PC or transfer the call to the desktop I just can't. Once the Webinar is on, it is smooth and there are no interruptions at all -- unless of course due to a blunder made by the unept but eager-beaver presenters themselves -- the presenters' laptops were having internet issues -- they apologize as soon as they get it sorted out but this platform s not the culprit -- it is smooth-sailing as far as I am concerned, at GMT+8 'faraway land'. A humble suggestion: Is there any way we can be notified by presenters that yes, there will be Encores, if they are offering such? Many a time, they FOMO us and keep us wide awake until the wee hrs of the morning and even at dawn when other family members are already waking up fr their new day -- while all the while we are bleary-eyed and thinking when this particular Webinar will 'ever' come to an end -- we wait and wait and wait b'coz they say that only those who wait till the very end of their Webinar will get this e-Book of this pdf or this Report, or AWESOME BONUS...it goes on and on...their baitings, that is...so very sad indeed. It is absolutely not good for our health, especially so in 'cron times, but what to do? They have us on tetherhooks, it so seems to be the case many a time -- and we are so very desperate to make money NOW! Personally, GoTo Meeting is BEST! Pros The product is easy to use even for the absolute beginner -- after a short learning curve to get acclimatized with the nitty-gritties thereat. The confirmation notification is like clockwork and is much welcomed. This is a standalone software, no need to bandwagon n any additional softwares -- a 'under one roof' technological marvel in its category, honestly-speaking. I always prefer this platform when compared to others that I am not so very keen on using. This technology gets the job done -- in other words, it is highly reliable for all of my Webinar (Web Seminar) needs. I always return as a satisfied customer -- it delivers on what it is expected to do. It is reliable in that you have to be reliable in getting to the Webinar punctually -- on or before time. Yes. Can add these features which would DEFINITELY help the struggling total newcomer to this amazing platform: 1. Give a Checklist For BEGINNERS Before you start...Step 1, Step 2, Step 3, etc....so very easy to follow, by the usually fumbling, stumbling newbie. 2. Didn't have countdown timer as in 00:00:00, but...'you are 2 days early' or 'The webinar is over'. 3. Do send at least 1 or even 2 'in-between' e-mail notifications s that the hurry-burry guys and gals too would be notified in advance that yes, there is an impending or imminent Webinar round the corner. 4. The Chat is not turned on...is it for VIP clienteles or need to upgrade to other levels? 3) Difficult to use? Initially, as a 1st timer, it was a lil' bit new playground, so to speak. Brilliant support Cons Although I haven't yet discovered a serious bug with GoTo Meeting, occasionally during the same meeting it freezes because of network problems. Perhaps there is a better technique that would allow quality to be less reliant on internet speed. Pros Best in class remote screen sharing and keyboard/mouse control. Rarely do you see any input lag even over high latency connections and the audio quality is as good as any of the other options on the market. Cons Please add filesharing capabilities and a more robust chat feature. You can't share images in chat which is very frustrating. Pros Screen sharing and passing remote control are essential for giving and receiving remote support from around the world. It is simple to use all the features I use. The only issues were for individual consumers in navigating the interface of audio connectivity. Pros I think for business professionals this is a great software to be using on a daily basis. This is an easy to navigate software and control other screens and edit, etc. Cons This software isnt as well-known to consumers as zoom so when working with individuals i have found that GoToMeeting is a bit of an anomaly even though in the business community its very well known.
