Once we were onboarded it was very easy to get our customers loaded in. We've been very happy with the product overall, and the items on the roadmap are promising. It's been a good tool to help us standardize our client's backup environments. By far the most profitable backup product we have ever run. Cons some inflexibility on DR site configuration - we would like to have a local and remote but can pick only one DR site recovery target. Clients love the ease of use, cost, and ability to have validated restores with Ransomware protection. Pros Simplicity and feature set. The cost structure is also very competitive relative to comparable products. Cons Limited support for Linux. I recently tried to migrate an older distro of Linux to Azure using standby replication, and it was not fun. Long story, short -- it did not end in success. I am very happy with the solution as it just works! Pros the ease of deployment and reliability of the backup solution. Cons When I have had to call support, the first tier person I worked wasn't responsive and didn't get back to me or respond in the timeframe I was told. I felt Ghosted. The speed of backups and restores is very fast. No extra hardware is needed. Pros The simplicity of installation, the speed of restoration of files and folders, and that there is no need for additional equipment. Cons The features are very good and there is nothing that I can say that it is missing. The ability to restore a backup as a VM is fast and easy. Pros Convenient Dashboard to review client PCs and review settings, errors and backup history. Also easy to get to the individual PC backups from the dashboard. The ability to restore a backup as a VM is a huge bonus especially when recovery of a failed device is vital. Cons Running individual backups requires running from "command window" and does not always work. Also would be nice to have a link to KB of errors that are generated from failures on ways to try and resolve. Settings are not overly intuitive and documentation on it would be a help. Being able to see my backups anytime and from anywhere provides incredible peace of mind. Being able to schedule recovery testing and also the ability to create standby images for a rapid restore in a critical situation, also provides the comfort of knowing you have a working backup. Pros Easy manageability, single pane to view all backups; knowledgeable and responsive support; Ability to test backups is extremely helpful. Cons Regular issue with system state backups failing. I have successfully restored entire servers that were affected by ransomware, doing a bare metal recovery with no problem. Pros The product is simple to use and protects our servers, workstations and client devices by giving a full backup we can restore at anytime from anywhere. " April 29, 2025 5.0 Overall, Cove has saved several of our customers the disaster that is data loss. We've been able to have same day recovery because of it and recommend it to everyone. Pros Cove has been one of the most simplest solutions to deploy. We have several customers on it now and it's easy to everything going. Cons I wish they would offer more on prem recovery solutions. Pros Works seamlessly in the background and the reporting is handy. It's also helpful to be able to see the status from within the n-cod portal, quite handy! Cons Nothing really, though I will say that I haven't used it long enough nor have offered the various plans to my customers. No complaints!
