I'm comfortable offloading the use of the product to my technically savvy customers - that's how easy it is to use. Cons Wish it backed up Google Workspace. I have to find / use yet another backup for my Google customers. It is also very flexible as cloud-only or with local backup storage/ BCDR. Cons A restore isn't super straightforward the first time, but the next time is easy. Never had big issues with it, and always worked when I've needed it to. Pros Easy to use, the UI is very good and simple. Support are great, and will always try their best to help you. Restoring data is a breeze. Cons It can be a bit slow and the VDR has a few issues, often it will be the same error which requires the services to be restarted numerous times before working properly. Pros We really love the simplicity and ease of use of Cove Data Protection, we have great confidence in this product and it's ability to protect users across a multitude of platforms. It's very easy to keep and manage our clients. Pros Easy to Implement, Integration and lots of features for ease of use. There is also quite a lot of resources and documentation. Pros It is simple and just works. There are small improvements that could be done but overall it is my favorite backup solution. Cons More sensative so system state errors are a thing we chase. Pros Browser based, fast access to data, very simple to setup and manage (I simply created an instance and verified into Office 365). Cons Currently it does not support Gmail backups. This is a challenge for us as we have clients with Google data. April 30, 2025 4.0 Very good, started as a junior engineer and got the task of checking this everyday. When i needed help support was easy reachable and helpfull! Pros Good portal and a easy to manage overview,. In 1 view you can almost check all off your customers backups. Pros Cove is easy to configure, monitor for and use for recovery if needed. Most importantly, it is reliable. We really like having frequent points in time to recover from and the ability to run a test recovery in a virtual environment. Cons We have not found much to dislike about Cove. The only challenging item is when a file does not back up in the O365 backup. This is generally due to a user having the file locked. Review Source HL Heath L. May 2, 2025 5.0 As with all our N-able-related services/products, aside from minor complaints, we are pleased with what we can do with them. So much so that we are currently implementing N-able's MSP Manager as well, and (fingers crossed) so far it's going well. Pros What our engineers (and management) seem to like the most about Cove Data Protection, as well as other N-able products, is the seamless integration between it and the other N-able services/products. That helps make things much easier when implementing the products, as well as when the need arises to quickly come up with a solution for a customer. Cons Speaking strictly from my personal experience, the one flaw I've found that is the most inconvenient/annoying/inefficient is that with CDP and my Remote Management Dashboard, I am randomly logged-out of the site, and it is exceedingly frustrating when I'm trying to help a customer but I'm having to jump through hoops for several minutes to do all my MFA and logins to get all my services back up on my screen. We switched from Veeam to Cove and it's been refreshing. No longer waking up to 50+ trivial alerts that need manually resolved. Pros Multi-tenant management, easy installs via scripting, reliable backups, easy to setup recovery testing and standby image creation. What isn't to like? Cons Logging could be improved. Once in a great while we will experience an issue that requires support involvement to decipher the logs. We know we are getting consistently good backups. Restores are simple and fast - especially those to the cloud! Pros The speed and consistency - no surprise errors. The install is super simple and works perfectly. Cons We honestly have nothing to complain about - everything just plain works as advertised! Pros The ease of checking status and running the backups. Cons The backup agent on premise changes, has caused us some consternation as to whether the scheduled backups had been performed as scheduled. But we soon found that the newer agent took care of any issues. So we were content. April 30, 2025 2.0 Too many changes, not enough communication or proactive training available for customers Pros It seems secure. I used to not be able to restore backups until I had installed the client back onto a new computer for that customer. Of course, I'm not sure if that's still hasn't worked, since I haven't had to restore a backup since the major overhauls. Cons They keep changing the name and interface, and there is little to no warning. Major overhauls on how the software works that make is less suited for our use case without communication. Would recommend for any small business. Pros Easy to install agents on clients. Simple, clean Cloud interface to manage. Very clean recovery options from the platform or from the agent installed on the client. Cons No Immutable backups for files restored to recovery manager. This is the only con I can think of. The need for support has been almost none. Pros Cove Data Protection works without many efforts. It just runs in the background and restoring is easy when needed.
