Worst part is probably the high price point per device with somewhat limited storage backup limitations. Pros It is easy to use and convenient to manage in our N-able portal. The analytics the service gives are also helpful. Cons It is definitely a very manual process to manage. It would be nice if the service was a faster. April 24, 2025 5.0 The proof of these things are always with the need to use them, and we have used the full bare bones server restore during an emergency server rebuild, and it worked perfectly - that is all I need to know, to trust this software! Pros Simple implementation, for both 365 backups and physical server backups, we had a short demonstration of how to implement, and that is all we needed, which shows the product being very straightforward. Cons I would say the price potentially for the server backups, but ultimately I can't really complain as the product really works well. I backup MS365 and some servers and there are no problems, if there is its easy to fix or the tool has fixed itself by restarting or trying it again. Pros The tool is easy to setup and add new customers, server or Microsoft 365 tenants to is. The dashboards are easy to make. It's easy to backup all common data types. Pros Reliable backups and fast restores. Easy to deploy and manage. Failures are few and far between and reports make any issues quick to address. May 12, 2025 5.0 I had to use it restore files that a end user deleted that were required for multi-store communication. This saved the client thousands of dollars. Pros I was able to do a bare metal restore to replace a SSD hard drive that failed with no warning. Everything restored with no apparent issues. Cons I have not found a way to email that the backup fail. However; in all honest I have not taken the time to research emailing failures either. Was able to recover all files after a client got hit by a crypto locker. Pros It works - set it and forget it. Data retrieval was pretty smooth. Cons Parts of the interface are not the most intuitive. Takes a little bit to find some options. VM backups and restore options are bit convoluted and complex. But still functional. Pros Its simple to use -SAAS solution is great. -Data Governance options are good -speed is fantastic Cons Some missing features are still in development. server backup/restore solution and live stand-in restore feature is lacking. Easy to restore to another location (ESI, Azure, etc). Speed. Cons Granular restores where you can select which disks to restore during a full restore operation would be nice. We like server solutions too. Cons They do not have an option to backup google workspace. So we have to find another vendor for that solution. We deployed it as a way to evaluate alternatives and found it to be solid. Scheduling, retention, and restore processes are straightforward. Pros Cove Data Protection offers a simple and centralized way to manage backups across both Microsoft 365 and endpoints. The web interface is intuitive, and setup is quick even for smaller IT teams. Cons The licensing model can be a bit confusing at first, especially distinguishing between endpoint and M365 protection. More granular alerting controls would also be helpful. Node setup is easy and smooth and we haven't ever faced any issue in setting up a new machine. PRofile assignment and backup setup steps are easy to do. Cons Complex Recovery process if the node is down. We had a server crash once, and it was a VM machine; we had to build the Hyper V environment to restore the server. Pros Easy to deploy, reliable, works well with minimal setup or intervention Cons Could do with more settings and flexibility, namely a way to limit upload speeds so that backups don't totally saturate a customer's bandwidth.
