It's the model I love the most as a translator and developer. Pros I love the interface they offer for translators and proofreaders, it has useful side panels where you can see the strings which need translation, the strings which are translated and the strings which are translated and approved by a proofreader. I love the simplicity of the UI and yet how practical it is. Cons Very rarely some changes in the UI/UX can make our proofreading harder. For example, a few years ago, Crowdin changed the way strings from different files can be filtered in the same side panel and that lead to us needing to search for strings to translate in every file. Compared to manually editing raw translation files via Git pull requests, Crowdin makes the entire localization workflow so much cleaner. Having translation memory, glossary support, and context right in front of you saves a ton of time and keeps terminology consistent across different releases. Overall, it has been an essential and hassle-free tool for my open-source contributions, and it genuinely makes community collaboration easier. Pros One of the best things about Crowdin is their genuine support for the open-source community by offering free plans. The interface is clean and very easy to get used to. The one recurring friction point is having to click to reveal string context screenshots, but it hasn't outweighed the benefits of the tool day to day. Pros The interface is clean and intuitive. The interface has several modes, which can support different types of work (crowdsourcing, proofreading, or managing lots of strings at once). It is also possible to submit more than one translation for a single string, which makes working together with other translators easier and more manageable. Cons Their push for AI tools as of late is rather obnoxious. Projects that have AI features turned off have a permanent, yellow badge visible to translators, whereas in projects where the features are enabled, AI suggestions are displayed above those that are based on previously-submitted, human-made translations. It was a wonderful platform to work with otherwise. Pros It is a very good platform for translators, as you can learn about the Tamil grammar mistakes mostly and some mistranslations also. The CrowdIn platform faithfully flags off those errors, and in the process you are learning. Cons I requested to give me a reference letter for the service I rendered, which they refused twice, which is unbusinesslike. I was told there was no system to issue any such recommendation letter. When the system is not there, you make the system. I requested to issue a reference or recommendation letter.
