Kinetic Data has some great talents in their team. The support is very responsive and helpful. Developers are easy to reach and eager to explore new ideas. They also have a community site filled with training courses, documentation, downloads and tips.

Pros

I appreciate the fact that Kinetic Data utilizes many Open source frameworks. This enables developers tailor the tool to fit organization specific needs. We can customize almost anything in workflows. The builder is web-based, visual and easy to use. Adding a task in workflow can be as simple as moving a handler node in a Tree, not to mention the capabilities to set constraints on form fields, redirect triggers, change parameters dynamically, etc. That’s just a few things I can think of on what this application is capable of doing. You can create complex workflows with beautiful UI that is also simple and powerful.

Cons

There is learning curve to build the skills necessary to implement software integrations. But this also applies to all other BPM software.

During these past 5 years, I have gained great knowledge with setting up forms for customer use that is easy to use for both the customer and IT personnel.

Pros

Easy language to create handlers to support form workflow in assignment of tickets that cuts out the middle man.

Cons

It took me a while to understand the events with questions showing and disappearing when changing responses, however the support team that Kinetic has are very knowledgeable and helpful in explaining the logic of events and code.

Our customer service was very personal. We provided a phone number that our clients could call and get a human being. This worked really great when we had a small number of clients. As our client base grew, we knew we couldn't keep that model and remain profitable. So KinOps helped us keep the perception of 24/7 customer service and prompt and transparent resolution of issues, without the need to have folks on-call for a growing number of clients. Therefore, we realized an increase in our customer service capacity without needing to increase our team size.

Pros

The ability to have discussions with our end user. This allows us to get the necessary details to resolve the issue or deliver the requested service. There's no need to call them and hope they're not in a meeting or otherwise unavailable. We can also get confirmation from the end user that the solution solved their problem via discussions so we ensure there is only one ticket per request.

Cons

I'm finding it a little difficult to completely rebrand the front end of the service desk. I would like there to be more of our firm's logo there than KinOps, but this is not a high priority thing for us right now.

Reasons for choosing Kinetic Data

We like the ability to customize the look and feel of the service desk. We also like that we can completely customize the workflow that occurs when a service request is submitted. We like that there was no software to install, making it completely accessible no matter where we may be located. That is critical because our staff are all 100% remote. I can't say enough how we really love that everything is kept with the original ticket, and how we can collaborate with the end user to make sure we get it right the first time. This aspect is also critical to minimizing our support hours and maximizing customer satisfaction.

I've have worked with 2 Kinetic Data products for 6 years now and am very impressed with the power the applications posses and the ease of use to deploy and maintain over the years. Kinetic Survey is the first product I gained experience in. I used it with the Remedy ARSystem and was successful in updating a very old survey for the Help Desk after bringing it up to date and re-evaluating the survey questions so they were relevant in the current environment. Making the necessary changes and updates was very straightforward and simple. Maintenance of Surveys is simple and pretty obvious when any changes/updates need to be made. One of the best features of Kinetic Survey is leveraging an existing Survey as a template for a new survey. There is no crossover and because it is built in the AR Platform, custom consoles can be built for any group that needs a holistic view of their responses. Reporting against Surveys can be done with any reporting tool that can access the ARSystem since all the forms and workflow are built without any special coding beyond what is already in place. Kinetic Calendar is the second product I gained experience in. This is used by the Change Management Group in order to define the Changes that are on the weekly agenda for the CRB. Using JSON and ARSystem makes it easy to design, configure, deploy and maintain in the Production environment. There are many permutations that can be built from a calendar of changes, to tracking tasks and work-orders,

Pros

Seamless integration with ARSystem, ease of configuration, deployment and maintenance.

Cons

There is nothing to dislike - it performed exactly as described and there are no surprises when working with it.
