Content Source: Hotjar
Based on other buyer's searches, these are the products that could be a good fit for you.
Reviewers highlight Hotjar's ability to track and analyze user interactions as a significant advantage. They find it invaluable for understanding how visitors navigate their websites, which helps in making informed decisions about design and content. The ease of use and comprehensive tracking features, including visitor recordings and click maps, make it a favorite tool among marketers and web developers.
Users appreciate Hotjar for its ease of integration and the insights it provides for website optimization. They find the setup process straightforward, often requiring just a few lines of code, which makes it accessible even for those with limited technical skills. However, some users report difficulties with the initial setup, particularly when using Google Tag Manager, and find the interface somewhat confusing, especially when managing multiple sites.
Pros
I really like the purpose of Hotjar. It's a platform that helps a lot with insights and perceptions of the user experience in our websites, and it helps us to improve our design and ux experience.
I use it on a daily basis. All the different features are great, like the screen recording that visually helps you see what your customers are doing on your website to the website.
It's also fantastic that we can share these reports with stakeholders outside of the marketing department and the results are crystal clear to non-marketers.
Love using pools - you will be surprised how good it works if you ask the right question in the right time. Very responsive and professional customer support.
Cons
Nothing I can say, maybe one... they are costly when upgrade to the more premium plan.
Hotjar is getting sometimes bad reputation. If you mention you're using it on your terms and conditions, some visitors can be affraid by being spied.
However, I can't say what is really negative about it (the biggest problem was finding out that our product is not as affordable as we expected), so I would need to investigate another competing tool.
With the bounce rate problem, I have been avoiding features that involves pop-ups. In other hand, the heatmaps and funnels tools continues to be essential to our operation.

"Best tool to find bugs and pain points in your site"
Pros: - Session Recordings - This really lets us know what are bugs and pain points in your site and having the timeline displaying tips were those actions were made is awsome (F.e, you can see in the timeline when the prospect is frustrated);- Heatmaps - This is very important to get an overall page knowing about what your prospects are clicking and looking
Cons: The analysis can be very qualitative. I wanted to see more numbers, especially with the revolution of AI
"The greatest resource for businesses conducting online transactions is Hotjar. "
Overall: The SEO of websites is revolutionized by Hotjar. As if we had a hidden window into the brains of our guests. A wealth of information is available for comprehending user behavior through the live interviews, user comments, and visual insights. It is also quite easy to use.
Pros: For individuals looking to increase revenue and maximize their conversion rate, this product is perfect. With Hotjar's features, teamwork will be easier and everyone on our team can gather the data required to make the right modifications to our website pages. They offer 24/7 support and customized training in the meantime to make sure I can get the most out of user behavior analysis on our website. Hotjar allows me to store data for a maximum of one year. If I want to know what's going on our website for an extended amount of time, this is a good alternative. One feature we've refined in FullSession is visitor recordings. In contrast to Hotjar, FullSession doesn't slow down our website aside from offering sophisticated filtering tools and comprehensive analytics.
Cons: A few customers mentioned that they would have preferred a user behavioral analysis tool with greater depth. Predictive analytics, which could be useful in predicting user behavior, is not available in the software.
"Tracking is constantly failing"
Pros: Just the fact of being able to record heat maps.
Cons: Our account has been constantly going on and off with an alert about the tracking not being properly implemented. Later, without having changed anything seems to be resolved. It's been like this for 2 weeks now.
"Really interesting to see what user really do"
Overall: We use hotjar when we launch a new feature or when we need improve some interface. It's really fun to see user action.
Pros: Easy to set up. Useful to see what our user do on website or application. Possibility to start hotjar on event. The heatmap allow us to see some unclickable zone. Possibility to add notes on recording.
Cons: It's not a problem with hotjar, but when we start to recording user action, we have a lot of recording to analyse. But always intersting to see what our users really do.
"Comprehensive analytics "
Overall: Combines qual and quant data, allowing businesses for experimentation and ultimately, optimisation. Excellent tool, highly recommend.
Pros: Initially used it as part of green field platform launch - really helped us understand user behavior (via heatmaps, session recordings, conversion funnels), which is always useful, but particularly crucial this early on in the product lifecycle. Integration and use can be done by most non-techies, which gave us time and space to focus our engineers where it really mattered. Surveys are also available (though should be used sparingly as we quickly learned too many can also be annoying for the customer :d).
Cons: not really a con, but performance is something to consider when integrating
