Pros I used Microsoft Azure to teach the computer networking course for undergraduate students. Azure provided a virtualized network for the students to test the various computer networking concepts on such as IP subnetting, IP addressing, NATing, distance vector and link state routing, etc. Azure provides virtualized but actual operating system guest nodes in the network that allows students to test real Linux commands and configuration when applying the different networking concepts. Before I used to rely on CISCO packet tracer to simulate the networking algorithms and protocols which didn’t depict actual working environments especially when doing client/server network programming. The .NET managed services are so well-developed in MS Azure which really competes with Google App Engine in providing PaaS services in the cloud. If you can't find what you're looking for, there's a search bar at the top of the screen at all times to find it for you. Outside of user navigation, spinning up a vm, uploading a custom ARM template, creating a Synapse Analytics workspace, or whatever resource you need, Azure has for you. Cons Can be a bit pricey to start if you're doing the lift and shift method for a migration project. It would be better to re-architect your infrastructure prior to the migration, as Microsoft is quite proud of Azure.
