I have found Roomsketcher tote uncomplicated, the support impeccable and the fact that I can produce floor plans quickly has massively helped productivity. Pros I very much like the simplicity of RoomSketchers, functionality. For the price, compared with other products I believe that RoomSketcher is excellent value for Money. The training and customer and client support, in my experience is impeccable. I am comfortable with the fact that although this is an online product, I have no issues with its security. Both the design and construction functions along with 3D modelling are especially beneficial to me in my day to day work. Cons There were some minor aspects, such as being able to group to together lines and rooms which would have been helpful. Similarly I would like to be able to upload a client chosen piece of furniture or wallpaper sample etc. But on the whole I have found that Roomsketcher meets my needs. There are certainly more robust solutions, but for a relatively polished model to show customers it works for what I need for now. Pros It's a fairly intuitive software and can be useful in sharing and collaborating with clients on ideas. I had issues with the sharing feature and the customer service team helped resolve it in about one business day. Cons The inability to view the 3D models on a mobile device is a definite down side. Some of the "snap in place" movement that the platform does when moving components around a model don't "snap" to where you'd actually want something, which then takes a lot more time to find a work around to place things where you actually want them. I also don't care for the credit system of sharing models. After paying the annual fee you have to pay more to be able to share models. Everyone HATES to be nickel and dimed. I love using it every time we move or when we’re flipping a home. It’s incredibly easy to use, but still detailed enough that I can add furniture, map out layouts, and really think through projects before making decisions. I spent a long time trying to find something that was simple without feeling limited, and RoomSketcher has been exactly that. It makes planning spaces fun and practical at the same time. Pros I love how easy it is to use unlike other apps where I felt I needed an architecture degree. It is also detail oriented which I love. I can add furniture, etc. Cons It has some limitations like grouping furniture items together, but I have never requested it and they are great about taking suggestions. While there’s still room for improvement in terms of object variety and 2D customization, the overall value it delivers — especially in the PRO version — is absolutely worth it. I especially like how quickly I can create accurate, branded 2D and 3D floor plans without needing advanced CAD skills. The furniture library, although decent, lacks variety — especially when it comes to modern, high-end, or region-specific (e.g. European) furniture and finishes. Sometimes I find myself compromising on interior details just because the right item isn’t available. Also, while the 3D features are strong, color and material customization is sometimes limited to 3D mode only — I would love to see more flexibility in 2D floor plan styling as well. The program is very approachable with very little learning curve involved. Added with the ease of scheduling 1:1 training call makes this program a home run! Pros The ease of learning a new program so quickly. The customer support with access to 1:1 video training calls, the in program training videos. The 2D/3D modeling make it very easy to communicate with clients efficiently. Cons The furniture options are very pedestrian. Also, adding a mood board option to the program would be an added benefit. Being able to use actual products for the mood board with color palettes is impactful for clients. If I could add the actual table or chair from Crate and Barrel to a mood board would be preferred. While the user experience is generally excellent, a few key improvements to the furniture library's breadth and the color-editing functionality would elevate it from great to truly exceptional. Pros I love the "order a floorplan" feature. I use RoomSketcher on a daily basis and this feature saves me time from doing it myself. I also love the regular updates to the furniture library. Whenever I have a request to add a piece of furniture to the library, customer service is always so welcoming to accept my recommendation and/or suggest something similar to it. Cons There a few common furniture pieces that are unavailable in the furniture library. And you're unable to change the color of the furniture while placing them into the floorplan unless you publish in 3D view. Am Anfang ist wie immer alles schwer, ich bin fast daran verzweifelt, eine bereits gezeichnete Wand wieder zu verändern oder entfernen. Wenn man aber den Kniff raus hat, ist alles wirklich, wirklich sehr einfach: es gibt ein halbstündiges YouTube-Video, das alle wesentlichen Basics erklärt. Nach ein paar Stunden hatte ich eine ganze Etage eingegeben und bemaßt. Für mich am wichtigsten: nachträgliche Änderungen sind manchmal etwas Gefummel, aber trotzdem innerhalb weniger Augenblicke durchzuführen. Die Pro-Version war für mich die bessere Wahl, es gab noch einen Coupon im Web. Im Vergleich zum Architekten äußerst kostengünstig, im Vgl. zu bspw. FreeCAD unendlich unkomplizierter. I like that you can change the materials and that you can use AI to draw the floor plan. Cons Bit of a learning curve. And also, I can tell how RS developed and put new things in that time. I continue looking forward to new things in software! Pros How simple and easy RS to use. Everyone with standard knowledge is able to use it and make fantastic projects. It offers so many furniture and materials and also ability to change almost every piece in way of position, color, material. I jumped right in without watching any training videos and was do more than expected. My luck ran out and I needed help so I wanted the very easy to follow tutorials and was able to produce a floorplan for a client in 20 mins. In the client's words, "You did more for free in 30mins than the £100 an hour Architect's Technical Team managed to do in a week". I opted for the Pro version - this paid for itself in a day. I managed to land a client for life! Pros The customer service is excellent. I raised an issue and it was given the correct care and attention. The training sessions are free, regular, exceptionally helpful and professionally presented. Depending on your subscription level, you may have access to a personalised Software Trainer. I had the absolute pleasure of dealing with \[sensitive content hidden\]. \[sensitive content hidden\] was simply amazing - knowledgeable, personable with a calm/understanding demeanour. Cons The credits system should have been made clearer to me at the start. From my perspective, if you are paying a certain price as an SME business, then the functionality should be congruous. Often, an amended choice of materials selected for the flooring or room cladding will revert to the default choice. You can't copy furniture groupings i.e. if you have 60 sets of tables and chairs to include for a conference, you have to insert these individually. Pros The cost and customer support are the top two things I like about this software. Room sketcher is very user friendly and easy to navigate through all the different tools and options. Cons You cannot see the detailed 3D final views until you make the snapshots and use credits. It would be nice to be able to edit the countertops for an overhang on a kitchen island for seating. We no longer have to scale & use paper cutouts for floor planning Pros I like that I can save a bank of commonly used furniture & change the size as needed. This saves me time searching for the proper piece Cons I find it hard to draw the floor plans myself. I rely on sending them in for drawing. August 26, 2025 4.0 The RoomSketcher software has been the perfect solution for my business as I used to have to pay someone to create 2D floorplans for my clients, and now I'm able to do it for myself. It's a game changer! Pros RoomSketcher is a very well designed program that is easy to learn and use and produces professional level results. On top of that their customer service is excellent and they offer 30 minute training sessions when and if you need any assistance. Cons My only real complaint is that although their furniture selection is extensive and crosses multiple industries (interior design, commercial offices, hospitality) there is no retail specific furniture which is my main usage for the program. That said, it is possible to use the building blocks feature to create my own furniture when another option isn't available.
