Director Environmental Services Used the software for: I used a free trial ### "Great free trial" January 16, 2020 5.0 Loved it. I was able to plan and visualise a space without paying a cent. If we decide to proceed with the project then I will probably pay for the professional suite. Pros I was able to download and create a virtual office space in an evening. While options with the free trial are limited, there were more than enough to create the look and feel I was after. The program is highly intuitive and easy to use (although I do use GIS and graphing software packages in my work). The 3D walk through is only available if you pay, but the camera snapshots are a great way to visualize what the space will look like without paying money. $99 for an annual subscription sounds reasonable, and there are also options to go 3D for $20 or get added materials for $20 etc. Intro vidio was helpful. Cons The ability to paint a highlight wall would be good - I assumed the professional package would enable that, but another comment suggests this might not be the case. Can be tricky to place things on tables, or in bookshelves, but probably just needs a little more time and energy. It is definitely possible. Review Source Carlos D. January 25, 2018 4.0 I had a blueprint of an apartment that was hard to show to people that are not familiar in reading bluwprints, but when I used this software the space was easier to show and understand because of the image you get placing the furnitures and windows. Pros Very to if you have a new place and are not sure if the furniture will fit in certain room. Have good variety of furniture and textures to play with. Cons To start building the rooms, the walls are hard to place, some times the wall not fit or behave the way is intended, so you end up having different distances in order to keep working on the project. Pros Roomsketcher is zo simpel en intuitief. Zoveel makkelijker dan sketchup. Op de roomsketcher website vind je uitleg van de meer lastige ontwerp uitdagingen. Bijna alles wat je wilt lukt wel met de software. Cons Wat ik mis, is dat je geen objecten kunt groeperen. Bijv een custom object gemaakt van building blocks. De software heeft moeite met sloping ceilings. Jammer dat er geen dakbedekking is (dakpannen, watergoten etc). Pros Software is easy to use and easy to train others in the office to use. The measuring guide lines make planning house sketches a breeze. Cons Sometimes its tricky to select certain main lines to move and to write room names in smaller boxes. At times its hard to transfer the saved product into files without the sides being close to the edge of the page or cut off. Pros easy to pick up, easy to use as I just need basic 2D floorplan features. Cons Very slow when you try to save updates (99% of the time) and 50% of the time when you try to save, the program hangs (dies) - very frustrating. Accounting Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE" December 1, 2023 2.0 Poor at best. my review is purely about principle and lack of training at this point Pros My husband and I enjoyed playing with room sketcher, but only frequently use this product. After being charged $20 every month I decided to cancel this service I never use, and I asked for a refund for 1 month of zero use. There customer service \[sensitive content hidden\] stated that they only refund in first 30 days of subscription. But she also told me that "technically" can't give refunds as customer service. At this point I am just writing a review for shear principle that this companies customer service is poor at best, and others don"t have the same outcome. Any paid products don't match your projects. Products are not effective. Pros Was able to make a decent floor map of our kitchen for an upcoming renovation project. It looked okay in the development stage, not in the 2d floor plan. Cons Went through a bunch of work to design our kitchen, went to print out a 2D floor design for it. It charges $2 for it from the free trial. So we pay and what we get out is absolutely useless and not worth our time. I spent all this time getting the dimensions right and then they were all wrong (think gaps between cabinets and windows, door spacing, cabinets started overlapping). There was no grid or dimensions printing on the floor plan. We were hoping to turn it over to a professional designer for our kitchen renovation but we're starting from scratch and looking for other software. RoomSketcher is an absolute waste of time. Their customer service is really strong...they know their product and reply quickly with answers and "how to" on any questions I've asked. Pros Easy to walk through our entire project and the team at Room Sketcher is always helpful in answering my questions! Because of Room Sketcher we can visualize this project from afar and communicate more effectively with our on site team. I was able to upload a rudimentary design and in return received a professionally drafted floorplan. The rating does not take into consideration the actual PC downloaded app. Pros The concept sounds nice with plenty of opportunities to upgrade to full 2D or 3D compilation for your design. Cons Initial logging in and trying to do anything with a mobile device was not easy. This software is meant for PC or tablet only. I was hoping that because my phone is a phablet I could get something to work so I could further test out the software. Features that this software have are amazing. There are many different furniture options and a lot of colors that can be applied. Cons The biggest cons is with colors.
