Pros: OBS is an extremely capable piece of broadcasting software capable of anything from basic recordings to broadcasting on platforms such as Twitch.tv, YouTube, Facebook, or even to a custom streaming server. Configuring OBS is very easy for beginners, with many basic configuration options and even a setup wizard to help you get stream settings configured in minutes. However, if you are an advanced user, there are many options for setting up recording, ingest settings, audio, and hotkeys. Because of the wide range of configuration available in OBS, anything from basic screen capture to professional-level broadcasting using multiple scenes, video sources, and effects are possible. Because of the popularity of OBS, there exists an abundant supply of tutorials, guides, and user support that will help resolve any issues you may encounter when configuring and using OBS.

Cons: OBS is still currently being developed, so there may be some features that are not implemented or minor bugs. Because of these issues, OBS may not be the best tool for critical applications compared to similar, paid programs. Additionally, the open source nature of the product means that there is not an official support channel to go to for proper, professional assistance.

Overall: I use OBS as a recording and streaming for personal, freelance work, and volunteer work.

Pros: Open source and still free, supported by 3rd parties, lots of great informational and instructional videos on YouTube because this software enables anyone to create online broadcasts, so yeah, they're gonna be on YouTube, lots of integrated extras, runs on some less robust computers.

Cons: The only problem I have experienced that wasn't user error or learning-curve related is that I own more than one Chinese import action cam and OBS identifies them both as by the same name (because they have the same internal components) and if the software, or the cameras, or the computer gets turned off and back on (power outage, cable comes loose, you take a break and Windows updates and reboots your computer while you're asleep) OBS cannot re-identify these cameras reliably and often gets them mixed up. It is possible that the computer identifier for these cameras is where the lack of distinction comes from, but it's annoying enough that I have since gone to using only one hardwired camera and everything else is IP cam to eliminate this problem of constantly having to guess which iteration of "UVC Camera" is cam 1.

Overall: I am relatively new to live streaming - I didn't even know something as sophisticated as OBS could be obtained for free! It's not necessarily newbie-friendly. You are expected to kind of know what you're doing or at least go read up on the processes. There is a ton of support in the way of user groups, online tutorials, mountains of user-created videos explaining how things work, and there are lots of add-ons and some pretty cool forks of the project as well (a fork is a branch off from the original open source program that's being developed in a slightly different direction). I play in a band and we recently began live streaming one show a month and OBS has been instrumental in this project.

Pros: The product is completely free, with no limitations. You can immediately start recording from multiple sources at once, with a fairly nice amount of customization in terms of the options you have. File formats, encoding, streaming, and so on. You can also create your own shortcuts to start streaming/recording. More functionalities are also available for users who need more control.

Cons: Shortcut seem not to always work on the first hit, and some users might find it difficult to use the more advanced functions. Sometimes records a blank screen when trying to record over videogames or other programs running in borderless fullscreen.

Overall: I use OBS almost on a daily basis for work, and even more often for personal purposes. At first I had some trouble setting it up, but after a few minutes it's really straightforward. I can now record my entire screen in its original resolutions, with no watermarks, completely for free. Honestly

Pros: I love that OBS allows me to stream on twitch.tv. However I also love that OBS allows me to twitch on other platforms if I decide to leave twitch as well. I enjoy using the many features of OBS including the "Live" function as well as the "Record" function. This means while livestreaming I can also record for use of the footage later. The computer options for OBS are plentiful too. You can set your overall settings to either use more CPU or less, depending on the quality that you want to stream. Overall, for being a free software, I would highly recommend OBS for anyone trying to get into PC streaming.

Cons: OBS has its occasional crashes. These crashes don't often produce an error report and especially during the middle of a stream/recording can be a hassle. Another downfall to OBS is that sometimes it is the cause behind server to broadcaster communication meaning that your stream will go down simply because OBS is communicating with the platform correctly.

Overall: Overall, OBS is a fantastic product that I recommend to anyone wishing to stream on PC. They have plenty of features and options to choose from. The broadcasting is great, and I will continue to use and recommend this product.

Pros: Open Broadcast Software has allowed me to stream from my computer to people on twitch. It is a lightweight application that allows the user to record, stream, store and so much more. It is very easy to use and if you are looking to stream, would highly recommend it!

You can stream in great quality, depending on your internet. Set up multiple scenes for easy transitioning and change the window you are capturing by 2 clicks. Streamlabs has built a more streamlined version of this as well, which makes streaming even easier.

Cons: It can be tricky figuring out how to use some of the features but a simple google search is more than enough.

Overall: I was using it for streaming, and let me have a great experience. I will not switch to any other program for a long time.

Pros: There is so much to love about this software. OBS offers so much versatility. You can switch from advanced and basic settings so you can completely customize your experience. I have used OBS and OBS multi-studio for over 4 years. Both programs are fantastic. The best thing about this is that you can stream, record and even do both at the same time.

Cons: The only con I can think of is that this program requires you to know a good amount about how streaming works in order to get the absolute best settings. Even with that said, it shouldn't deter anyone from giving this program a chance.

Overall: My experience with OBS has been fantastic. They're actively updating their program and their support has responded to be within a reasonable time.

Pros: *It's open source which means free unless you can and want to support financially or get premium support (or support full-stop, not sure if that's a thing with OBS).

*Does everything all the other free or paid options do (that matters anyway).

*Very reliable overall.

*Pretty flexible and getting a few important updates of late.

Cons: *Might still be a little difficult for some people compared to others.

*Open source software can sometimes take longer on average to have major updates / features.

*Still pretty easy to crash if you do certain actions too quickly but thus generally easily to avoid although you can get nervous switching scene collections mid stream for instance.

Overall: OBS is the software I use to create recorded and live stream gameplay commentary videos on a regular basis (something like over 250+ videos now spanning from 3-4hrs per video average). So pretty awesome reliable free software.

Pros: - Easy to use once you understand it

- Tons of guides online

- Awesome plugins to popular streaming platforms

Cons: - Looks a bit dated

- Can be confusing with layers / layouts if you don't look up guides

Overall: I've used OBS on and off for multiple years with streaming. I stream mainly video games but it's been great for other things I've streamed to friends. It's got great features to tie into Twitch, as well as many streaming assistance platforms have plugins for OBS. I've never had any software related issues with it, even with Daily use for around (3) months. It did exactly what I needed it too, and even allowed me to setup a very nice green screen behind me for better quality streaming with ease.

Pros: Let's start off by saying that this software is FREE, while the saying "You get what you pay for" is a valid statement, i think OBS is feature rich for the cost of 0$. You can link up all the different streaming platforms and customize the streaming, recording settings based on what you want. I was actually very surprised how in depth this software was for being freeware.

Cons: No complaints on my end, i haven't run into any issues with it lately, i am a happy user!

Overall: Overall OBS has been great, it does what i want it to do, whether it be streaming or recording. It does it all!!!

Pros: I used to use one of Adobe's products, but when support for that got dropped, I had to find something easy to use and inexpensive. OBS fit that bill perfectly. It's simple enough to allow me to select my streaming destinations easily, but also allow me to use my professional capture devices. As long as the computer can recognize it, it can be loaded into OBS and used as an input source.

I typically use a switcher for my streaming productions, but for times when I had to cue up other multimedia files, I can load those right into OBS and switch to them outside of the switcher easily. Very flexible software!

Not having to use an external recorder is a life saver too. I can just select start streaming and start recording and now I have my clean file to work with later if anything happens with the stream.

I also like being able to see my stream health right on the screen very clearly as well.

Cons: Not much! I haven't hit any issues with streaming to different sources, and if anything, maybe had some issues with stream health, but that's an internet connection thing and I'm guessing OBS can't work magic and give me unlimited bandwidth.

Overall: Great overall experience. I use this time and time again and have had no issues versus any paid-for program!

Pros: It was pretty quick to get up and running with streaming, this was something I've wanted to do and this was the software that was widely used and after using it I can see why.

Cons: While it was quick to get setup and going at a "basic" level, the more advanced stuff was a little tricky but doable. I wish they had better tutorials on this stuff, such as adding "current song" playing or adding/moving alerts.

Overall: Once I got it set as I like it, it's been great. Everytime I stream it's literally "go live" and I'm up and running. I can count on one hand the number of times OBS has crashed during a stream.

Pros: I like how you can switch between each "scene", each of which can have different layouts, and sources (cameras, text, screens, and the like), and fade or cut between them with different transition times. I also like how easy it is to monitor audio and adjust audio levels from different audio sources.

Cons: RTMP (the protocol used for live streaming content to an online service) is a little finicky on some networks, especially company networks which usually block the ports which RTMP uses. While this isn't a problem with OBS itself, it is not very good at telling you why your stream didn't start, and how you could fix whatever problems you may or may not have.

Overall: I've been wanting to engage with my social media more through live streams. OBS has allowed me to do these live streams, record them so that I can archive them later, all while allowing me to keep a professional presence on these accounts, and being free. While there is no official customer support, their forums are very active. if you are having a problem, you can get a solution within hours. I was considering XSplit but I didn't want to cough up the monthly fee.

Pros: Everything about this software is amazing. The ability to use different streaming platforms for output, the customization for scene inputs. Getting your stream to the right theme is a big plus.

Cons: At first, it is a hard software to understand. Getting the right output settings based off of your own ISP speeds and computer specifications. Once you figure out that learning curve, you will be streaming in no time.

Overall: OBS is the best if you are new streaming or even a long time veteran. Having different options at the power of your own creativity.

Pros: OBS is free which is great, but there are so many good features about this product that it is impossible to list here. What I really love about OBS though is the level of control that it gives you over your gaming videos. You can screen record, while also recording yourself giving a walk through of the game, it looks amazing, and there is no watermark like there is in some "freeware."

Cons: OBS is INCREDIBLY difficult to master. Thankfully there are tons of Youtube videos that give you incredibly detailed instructions.

Overall: I am able to create crisp, professional looking videos at the low, low price of zero. I also really enjoy learning new features that I can perform with it, which I do almost every day.

Pros: OBS takes what seems like a daunting and difficult process and makes it simple and straightforward. Setting yourself up to stream on platforms like Twitch and/or record video for Youtube takes a few minutes. For someone like me who knows very little about the finer details of video and streaming, this is great.

The ability to create different presets for your streaming and capture is also fantastic, so you can easily switch between "starting soon" graphics, your game or software, full-screen face shots, etc. It has ample tools to set yourself up for a successful stream without hassle.

Cons: The OBS interface isn't as intuitive as it could be - as easy as it is to get started, it's not really a "pickup and play" kind of software. I've had trouble getting certain functions to work, particularly in organizing additional elements in a scene, and also selecting my audio source.

Overall: So far I've used OBS to record instructional videos for some clients and friends, and have also tried out streaming animation work and some games. It's a good simple tool for my uses.

Pros: I didn't need much: record videos for myself and the team of very specific processes. Setting up the app was extremely easy. I loved how the app is very lightway and doesn't take any additional time to process the file: you can see it as soon as you press "stop recording". You're given a lot of audio and video options , as well as the fantastic ability to record the desktop audio which was exactly what I needed. If you eventually need to go beyond that you have filters, multiple input, etc. Only tried once broadcasting in youtube and it was really easy to setup because the interface is really easy and self explainatory.

Cons: I noticed an issue when trying to record footage for a very light videogame we're making that even when the game was running fine, the frame was apparently very very low in the resulting video. Never tried again because it wasn't fully necessary to solve. I really miss not having suggestions from the app itself about how to improve the recording quality specially with some software that is very popular to use (like main game engine editors).

Overall: Very useful and easy to use. We only found one framerate issue but I'm pretty sure the solution is on the web. Besides that, it's really lightweight, the results are visible inmediatly after the recording is stopped and generates easy to share file formats. The included volume options for mic and desktop audio are all I normally need.

Pros: It's very streamlined and easy to use once everything is up and running. Menus are simple to navigate, and there are many sources online to help you get started. It has the functionality of many higher priced streaming softwares, but in a free package. There are endless numbers of possibilities with the software, from desktop capture, to window capture, and the ability to input external sources with proper equipment.

Cons: This software is absolutely free, but it does take some knowledge of basic streaming in order to get things working properly. You have to be able to have a thorough plan in place and knowledge of your system before use, especially if you are planning on using external sources, like ingesting a multi-cam stream from a switcher. There's also no functionality to allow for streaming to multiple sources at once.

Overall: OBS is a great tool for us since we only needed a very basic streaming platform to go to Facebook Live. We are not using OBS to it's fullest extent, and only use one external source for video and audio. However, the great thing is that it easily and simply does what we need without any problems. After initial setup, it's basically a launch and go program every time you need to use it from there on.

The tool is easy to setup and even the most basic configuration already results in great quality content. There are plenty of options to fine tune and tweak the output and for the most part all of this is really easy to follow using in-house documentation or tutorials via YouTube.

Pros: Being able to reach all places through this tool is great since I can show you what I am seeing, I can also use my camera and show what I do and how I do it or I can use two cameras that allow me to have the help of other colleagues at the time of giving the workshops to people who are far away and that learning is better.

Cons: In my personal experience with the updates of each time I use it, I renewed the experience, for example, with the possibility of doing to the people who are doing the workshops, as well as having the possibility to communicate through the chat, I can also share the screen and the feedback process is more complete.

Overall: One of the functions of my work is having to give the employees of the foundation workshops on use and updating both programs and technical support and in some cases I have to be traveling to remote places. That is why with this tool I can first communicate to the majority of the employees of the foundation as well as the facility at the moment of giving the workshops since by not traveling I can concentrate more on my workshop.

Pros: The best feature of OBS was one I didn't expect: High quality screen recording. You can save recordings locally and control the quality settings or other overlays/transitions in real time. In addition, OBS makes streaming from multiple sources a cinch. Easily superimpose multiple screens or feeds all at once, have multiple audio sources, and multiple "scenes" to transition between. It's professional software that entry level users will benefit from, too.

Cons: Besides a small learning curve, there's nothing negative about OBS--it is feature rich while maintaining a simple interface.

Overall: OBS allows us to live stream professional events, webinars, and screen recordings in the simplest ways possible via all the major streaming platforms. It has also enabled us to create quality tutorial videos by allows us to record our screens and save it on a local drive.

Pros: I use OBS twice a week to live stream our Sunday services. It has been a great addition for our media team! Now we are able (with the aid of some other gadgets) to import and show full slides and live transitions that we are able to pull up while live streaming. I enjoy this program's wide range of functions and capabilities, including putting up our MacBook feed on the corner while simultaneously streaming live video. Another great function is its ability to receive feed from two cameras and microphones and switch between them as we choose.

Cons: The only thing I don't like about the software is that sometimes there is a lag in the video output. However, this isn't necessary the OBS program itself, but rather the connections between all our technology. I also wish that the program itself was more user friendly so that anyone could use it, but as someone who uses it regularly, I've had no problem familiarizing myself with all its functions.

Pros: OBS has a wide variety of uses from streaming to websites such as Twitch and YouTube, but also has great recording capabilities. If you need to broadcast yourself but don't have the money, don't worry this program is completely free. Pros: I use this to stream to Twitch. It's easy to use right out of installing, but if you want to dive deeper and set bitrates and more to tweak your quality, it's easy to go through the options and tweak what's needed. There was a hiccup a year or two ago where updates would cause problems, but that was a while ago and I haven't had any troubles in a long time. Very easy to use to get streaming (or even just recording your screen to a local file). Highly recommended!

Cons: If you're not familiar with bitrates and resolution and knowing what works well with your connection speed, it can be a little daunting to get a reliable stream with good quality (more so the lower your internet speed is), But doing a quick search for the best settings for your speed is a good starting place to see what to set.

Pros: Cost = FREE

The software has so many features that i cannot believe this is open-sourced software and completely free.

It is easy to set up to record your display, or even set up a stream directly to Youtube, Twitch or Mixer.

Cons: Buggy

Its free so you get what you pay for. Their support is actually decent and they do try to patch bugs that are found reported and can be reproduced by their staff.

Overall: I haven't been using this software for a year yet, but I will be using it until it is not longer supported. It is great to record games from your console or pc to your computer edit the video and then post to your channel on 3 big social media streaming sites. The support is decent in resolving bugs that do sometimes become annoying but again you get what you get when its free and as long as their support is working on the program i will continue to enjoy it.

Pros: Easy to install. I use two cameras and the software saw both. I also use a separate microphone while going live.

You can add pre-roll video, graphics overlays, and transitions effects. Music during a still image (which I used before going live, to make sure the stream was stable)

Even if not streaming, you can record as if going live and upload when convenient.

The stream quality is good, and this depends as much on your system and camera as it does the software.

I use this to do Facebook lives to a group as well as Youtube live broadcasts.

After doing live TV back in the day, this reminds me of the old days of Live TV. Except this is in a small software package and not an expensive studio set-up with the need for microwave transmitters.

Cons: It has a pretty steep learning curve. There's plenty of help, but the documentation could be a bit more newbie friendly.

If you are a non-tech savvy person, you might need assistance in getting this up and running.

Overall: It allows me to go live in Facebook without having to PAY another company for the privilege of going live from my desktop or laptop .

Pros: Free no ads no scams just software like it should be. OBS or Open Broadcast software is a free software to encode and recording a variety of different things from a game and facecam to a presentation with effects

Cons: Its very technical you need some base knowledge to configure it to your likeing but overall it just works because of the community that supports and helps solve its problems

Overall: Obs is a technical and effective tool to make high quality content

Pros: I use OBS to record videos for my Facebook group. It 's free of charge which is a huge bonus. The quality of the recordings is the same as expensive screen recorders. It is fairly easy to get started as a beginner. I watched YouTube videos to get the right settings and made tweaks myself after becoming comfortable with the software. I like the fact that you can add text, your logo and different graphics to your videos. I probably haven't used half of the functions that OBS has to offer but I'm happy recording simple videos with call to actions at different times.

Cons: I tried to live stream to my Facebook page but for some reason it just didn't work. I don't know much about how streaming works so that's probably why it was difficult to figure out the right settings. I think you will need to have a good knowledge of streaming to make OBS work for you.

Overall: Makes recording videos simple and easy.

Pros: This is what everyone uses primarily for streaming on twitch and in youtube. The amount of consumer help you can expect to find is great, and being able to customize almost every aspect is without a doubt the biggest reason it is so widely used.

Cons: OBS is not as intuitive as other streaming platforms. This is not a bad thing necessarily, but it does have a learning curve.

Overall: I've used OBS for about a year and a half. It's been great to use and i really don't see myself switching platforms anytime soon. If your looking for a powerful program that can 'Do it all' this will definitely do the trick!

Pros: This software is the go-to software for anyone looking to do video capture/screen capture, stream or even multi-screen work.

Cons: Took some research to learn all the specific settings needed to run smoothly for streaming and video capture.

Overall: Overall experience would be a 10/10. Once learned on how to use easily the most functional program for video capture, and dual monitor capture work.

Pros: Its a life saver for me, I have online clases that require a lot of attention and constant labor, and since I cant take notes, I can record the class while I pay attention, and later on I can rewatch what we saw in case I have a doubt.

Cons: I dont think there is something I dont like about the software, I can do everything I want and I havent really faced an issue with it.

Overall: Its incredible, It is really intuitive and I love the window recording option, that way I dont have to worry about some app showing when I dont want it to.

Pros: I enjoy how much you can customize and manage your stream. You can control so much about your stream settings with things like bit rate, encoder, audio bit rate and so much more. It's reliable and I don't recall a time in which it's crashed or gave me any issues.

Cons: I've been using a fork of OBS called Streamlabs OBS and I have to say there are many features that I wish could be implemented in the base OBS program like the ability to title your stream for services like Twitch, the ability to use pre-made themes and switch them out on the fly and much more.

Overall: Overall, OBS does what it does best, stream. I've never had an real issue with it and it works reliability for me.

Pros: OBS has a large number of features and, when properly configured, works really well.

Cons: Getting OBS correctly configured for your setup can be difficult sometimes.

Overall: I've been using OBS for streaming to Twitch and creating YouTube videos for some time now. In the past, getting the correct settings to ensure decent quality videos was sometimes a little bit hit and miss... but with the newer versions, it is significantly easier. That said, if you don't know what you are doing with the configuration, it can take some experimentation to get it right. Once it is right, however, OBS is brilliant. Switching between scenes, sources or changing the audio can easily be mapped to keyboard shortcuts (or a break-out box)... I rarely need to look at OBS while streaming. There are alternatives but I've yet to find one that tempts me away.

Pros: I am not going to lie, the price was one of the greatest driving forces for my use of this software. I was simply making some how to videos for a class I was doing and then some more for work. I tried some other different free programs that either didn't work or didn't have features to really make it worthwhile.

This works great!

Cons: I guess this comes with more training - I tend to forget which selection to do to get the window I want for recording just that window. Again, that's just an issue with me. I did have once where it didn't save correctly but after making a couple of different choices I was able to get the video that I needed.

Overall: I was looking into a screen capture solution for a class I was having as well as trying to teach people how to use some of the programs that I was utilizing. I tried a handful of free programs for this and to be honest they all failed. I started hitting up the reviews and came across OBS. It is wonderful. It has done everything that I have needed so far and at a high quality. I have not been using the software as a higher broadcasting talent but as a screen capture program in order to make how to videos mostly. It works great for this! I had a friend that asked how to do this or that in Adobe Illustrator. I turned on OBS and had him a video in no time at all! Thank you

Pros: OBS is completely free and open source so anyone can have access to the source code and edit it to help improve the program. It's constantly having new updates and features added on to it. there is really no reason to use anything else for streaming. OBS should be everyone's first option if they are thinking about which broadcasting software they should use.

Cons: The only con with OBS is that there really isn't any customer support. Users have to really on the community and forms to solve problems with the software.

Overall: I've been using OBS everyday for the past 9 months and I can't imagine myself using anything else when it comes to streaming.

Pros: 1. Streaming was never been this easy. OBS being a free software nobody will expect it to be industry standard streaming software from streamers to professionals OBS has all the features anybody would need.

2. I like the OBS Studio the most as it gives me two screen which is pre-scene and the current to preview the next scene which will go live.

3. Ease of accessibility and various tools which you can use to suit your requirement.

4. One of the best features of OBS are multiple pre-setted scenes you can set up and change it via single click.

Cons: 1. At first any new user will find it intimidating to get used to all the tools and there's no proper guidance for using the software.

2. There's too much CPU usage which restricts low end systems.

3. There are occasional crashes which is very annoying.

Pros: It allows me to use my mobile device as a webcam. It has the studio feature which is very good for professional live video broadcast allow the channel owner to brand video with logo and wonderful special effects.

Cons: It warns about recording directly to Mp4 because it may not be able to save your videos to that format and suggests recording to flv which will mean converting to Mp4 for web and video hosting sites.

Overall: OBS is a great software with nice features but I had a challenge with some videos I recorded. I experienced a break in my videos after recording. I mean the voice moves faster and does not go in tandem with video.

Pros: OBS is an excellent program to get you started on streaming. It has a great feature set, complete with scenes, and various setups that you will need.

Cons: There are some limitations. Setup is slightly more complicated the paid solutions, and it may not be as turnkey. Switching from Scene to Scene did cause some live streams to need to reconnect (causing delays), but likely user issues (me).

Overall: If you want to get involved in live streaming of any kind, OBS is an excellent first place to look. If you cannot do it in OBS, you probably won't be able to with most other programs. It might not be the easiest to use, but the barrier of entry is so low, that you owe it to yourself to try it out.

Pros: The integration of OBS with NewTek NDI video over IP was a lifesaver, and has opened doorways for me. I'm also a fan of programs that are free, and available for both Windows and Mac OS.

Cons: When using OBS in my Mac OS X 10.14.2, I am unable to access the hardware encoding. I have a 2015 MacBook Pro with a dedicated AMD m290x, and I have good luck with this option when booted into Windows 10 on the same machine. I may be doing something wrong, but it results in very choppy unusable footage when streamed from my host PC and captured on the MacBook, and i'm thinking it's because I don't have the option to select hardware encoding.

Overall: It was super easy to jump in and get started with OBS. Maybe i'm biased because I have worked with other encoding software before, but it felt natural to integrate it with overlays and messages from external websites. It's not as visual or intuitive as SLOBS, but it's really really great and less of a performance hit from what I've experienced.

Pros: It is free, updated regularly and rarely does not work. I use this daily and for hours with very minimal disruptions. It is pretty user friendly too.

Cons: Takes up a lot of CPU but then again my computer may not be so good either.

Overall: I've learned to teach myself all the basics of video production with this program without education and only with youtube videos so it is pretty user friendly and is a solidly working program.

Pros: The program itself is useful for creating quick videos and screen captures. The integration of other third party programs seems to work flawlessly.

Cons: There are many updates and at times, I have had to uninstall and reinstall to get rid of the "no launch" hang up. I.E. the program states it is running and shows as an active process but never shows up until you end the process in the task manager and relaunch. A fresh install typically fixes this issue.

Overall: I can make videos for my YouTube channel quickly and easily with the same standard setup as OBS remembers my settings, so it becomes a good set and forget program.

Pros: I've primarily used for two purposes: streaming a high-production value video feed to Facebook (think webinar with multiple camera/screen cuts), and for creating screen capture tutorials without having to do heavy editing. Every time I use it, I'm impressed with how much you're able to do, and how stable it is. It's not pretty, but it's pretty intuitive. It was a little difficult to figure out how to connect it to the Facebook page I wanted to livestream to, but a quick Youtube search offered a solution.

Cons: Documentation isn't great, but Youtube is your friend. Also, I occasionally have trouble finding USB devices, but reboots/relaunches usually take care of that. Also, you'll probably want to download VLC to change the exported file type. Not sure why they won't let you export an mp4, but maybe they do, and I just haven't found that Youtube video yet. ;)

Overall: I've primarily used for two purposes: live-streaming a high-production value video feed to Facebook (think webinar with multiple camera/screen cuts), and for creating screen capture tutorials without having to do heavy editing.

Pros: As a teacher, I am frequently trying to update and make my classroom more exciting. This software enables me to do that. I can record video from online, as well as capturing my screen. It has a great selection of filters and audio mixing.

I think that the best part about this software is that it is 100% free to download and use!

Cons: There is honestly nothing that I can directly thing of that I feel is a con of this program. It is so easy to use and filled with ways to customize.

Overall: With how amazing it is, I would completely understand if the creators of this software decided to turn this in to a paid software. I would even say that it would be worth the money. I have been able to create so many useful videos for my classroom.

Pros: I love this is a free software to use and it has so many features for streaming and recording video. Not to mention you can really get the video to look however you want. I have used this in my business and in my church's Livestream which works great. Considering how much other services which comparable to this cost, this is a no-brainer tool to use for live streaming video.

I love how you can switch cameras or change scenes. I also use external cameras and microphones and it all works great!

Cons: I love using OBS but when I first started using it I was a little overwhelmed and confused. It's not that easy to learn and there are so many features it can be hard to get everything set up right. But what helped me was going on youtube and watching tutorial videos on how to set everything up for my situation.

Pros: It was very quick to get setup and start streaming on Twitch. Toying with the bitrate and other settings was likewise very easy and there is quick turnaround when you're able to first verify that local recordings look fine before diagnosing internet issues in your streaming setup.

Cons: This may be solved by plugins that I have yet to discover but not knowing what a scene I am about to switch to will look like ahead of time is annoying in some circumstances when I make a mistake in the broadcast and have to switch back emabrassingly.
