We have a production team that, may I say, are not the most technically advanced but are able to follow simple directions. OBS Studio allows us to easily record our Sunday services directly from the Google Meet streaming service presented on the OBS Studio laptop. Once Google took away the ability to record (this was removed for non-profit accounts), we switched over to OBS Studio, and have been happy ever since. Cons No Cons about the software. The only Con is that we have to use another piece of software to record our Service instead of a direct download from Google Meet. OBS has come through for the last 16 months. You can immediately start recording from multiple sources at once, with a fairly nice amount of customization in terms of the options you have. File formats, encoding, streaming, and so on. They have plenty of features and options to choose from. The broadcasting is great, and I will continue to use and recommend this product. Pros I love that OBS allows me to stream on twitch.tv. However I also love that OBS allows me to twitch on other platforms if I decide to leave twitch as well. I enjoy using the many features of OBS including the "Live" function as well as the "Record" function. This means while livestreaming I can also record for use of the footage later. The computer options for OBS are plentiful too. You can set your overall settings to either use more CPU or less, depending on the quality that you want to stream. Overall, for being a free software, I would highly recommend OBS for anyone trying to get into PC streaming. Cons OBS has its occasional crashes. These crashes don't often produce an error report and especially during the middle of a stream/recording can be a hassle. I can use picture-in-picture, various combinations of cameras and the option to include system sounds or not.I use it in combination with my StreamDeck to quickly change between scenes, though OBS Studio provides hotkeys to change scenes or pause - or nearly any other feature.In the end, I have professional looking video. Additionally, I've used OBS Studio to interface directly into YouTube's live streaming service. Even that setup was quick and easy. Pros OBS Studio is incredibly intuitive and easy to use. Pros obs studio is a really great software for both recording and streaming, I'm using it for a long time, and it has many valuable features, the most thing that i liked about it as a streamer and content creator, is that you can record with very high quality and fps can be up to 120fps which is good for me as an editor in the same time, on this software you can record your screen, take a screenshot and stream. The interface is consistent between platforms. Supports both streaming and recording, both individually and simultaneously. Embed picture in picture, picture in video, video in video. Overlay text, graphics or a number of sources controlling placement and visibility. Inputs support webcams, screen capture including window or selection based. Capture game output as well as software demonstrations useful for tutorials as well as demonstrations, all live.
