Pros

We really enjoy this product! It is very user friendly. Anyone could learn it.

Cons

It isn’t not best use for a small cafe but they are working on it. Some features we would like are gift card button without having to pay additional fees. It would be very helpful to have a tracking system for the gift cards as well.

### "Saved us from a poor experience with another software!"

The customer service has been incredible and personable. The installation at our newest location was efficient and the build out was thorough, which helped with the launch. Our team has taken to the layout and use of system rapidly and found payment processing and overall restaurant management to be of ease. The business management has been great on the enterprise dashboard, allowing for quick views of a portfolio.

Pros

\- Customer Service is easy to work with and knowledgeable - Equipment is easy to use - Back side of the program is easy and intuitive to maneuver - New iPad mini handhelds have been well received

Cons

Would love to have a manager app rather than logging in via the web on a phone. Hopeful for new reporting capabilities in next beta testing phase.

### "Union is a joke."

Failure to execute what they promised. We were warned that they have issues with their hardware and that it can affect capturing payments. We asked to go with a more reliable hardware, an iPad tablet over a handheld iPhone device with card reader. Then before installation they switched us back to handheld devices and told us it would only be temporary, and that we wouldn't see any of the issues that they had in the past. Months later we have handheld devices that fail to connect or take payment every night. Multiple bartenders trying to share one device like sitting at Family Sunday spaghetti dinner and only having one fork! It's so inefficient. They constantly blame the hardware that they specify and format, ask you to turn the device on and off with little to no solutions, and then send you a new device a week later so they can constantly remind you that you received a new device "free of charge" but fail to acknowledge that the previous device didn't function. They constantly talk about how the Dev Ops team is hard at work to roll out new developments but at the end of day your left with more headaches, frustrated staff, empty promises. Operators beware, Union's software might look nice, but as long as the hardware they use keeps failing, you'll end up with a bunch of expensive paperweights for your cash only bar. Union is a joke.

Pros

The UX is easy to learn, but most all POS are easy. They seem good at bundling your guest's data and consumption trends so they can sell it to liquor companies.

Cons

No accountability Empty promises They blame their hardware and they'll blame you and your staff and suggest that you don't know how to use an iPhone.

Thanks for your review. We’re disappointed when anyone isn’t satisfied. We have thousands of happy customers and industry-low churn, but even one unhappy customer isn’t our goal. When we learned about your service model, we recommended waiting for our card reader-less handheld POS terminals or allowing NFC tap payments. You asked us to install anyway and switch later. Unfortunately, high-volume transactions drain any handheld POS batteries quickly. We should have insisted on waiting - despite multiple visits and 4 free additional handhelds, you weren’t happy, which is our fault. Today we have card reader-less handheld POS systems that last all day regardless of volume, survive 20-foot drops, and handle water exposure. Guests simply tap their phone/card to pay and tip without card readers or constant charging. Best part: bring your own iOS device so you don’t wait for replacements when devices break or get wet. Any iPhone 12+ works. Thanks again for the feedback, it helps us improve.

### "Best POS system by far "

Customer service is amazing! I can understand what is being said and they understand me !!!! They are super helpful and help you fix the issue which is generally a user error lol.

Pros

Hands down the best POS system. We have 4 locations and so far we have Union at 2 and plan on moving the other locations over as soon as possible! Very very user friendly. The staff loves them . I still have a lot to . learn on the backend of stuff but so far the reports are user friendly also!

Cons

Only thing is the equipment is a bit costly however still worth it . Kitchen screen a bit small but still definitely make it work!

### "Best system I researched"

From sale to installation to support after they have been awesome. Instant response, constant communication and the ease of use is idiot proof.

Pros

Union has a unique relationship with distributors where they offer discounts based on promotional products. The customer uses the mobile Union app and selects the venue and offer - the customer scans a QR code at the table or bar and Union pays the discount to the customer through the app. In MA we cannot discount drinks so this is such a benefit to attract customers.

Cons

Honestly, nothing. I looked at all the POS systems and Union really stood out. For a number of reasons that I saw as benefits for ease of business. There are also a number of ways to reduce costs through incentives that they offer.

Reason for choosing UNION POS

Ease of use and ability to access promotional offers. The technology is in constant development - weekly there are functionality updates. They are far ahead of the curve compared to other systems. We were the second location in MA to onboard Union and it has grown to dozens in a short period of time.

### "Not Well Thought Out"

The system was cheap, but that may be due to the fact that it is not well thought out.

Pros

Its fast and simple, but then again, we only have 1 product.

Cons

It does not record sales accurately It does not have a feature to calculate how much cash you have at the end of the day It does not fund credit cards correctly New Icons appear randomly from UNION, without permission or notice. IT DOES NOT KEEP ACCURATE ACCOUNTING

### "Stay Away from Union"

awful & expensive lesson. Great until there was a problem, then we got tossed between the merchant services company and Union, each blaming the other. ZERO customer service. Company is shady. Save your money and your time and stay away from Union.

Pros

Reps seemed friendly at first. Was a bait and switch. Nothing ws what they said it was and no accountability to fix.

Cons

No Customer Service. Billed prices didn't match contract. Fees substantially more than we were promised. Cost us thousands of dollars and so much time.

We have 1000s of happy customers and the lowest churn rate in the industry but even one unhappy customer is not what we strive for. In looking at our database, we can't find a record of your first name, last initial associated with any of our former venues and you listed Squarespace as your former POS. To our knowledge Squarespace is solution that helps build websites. Additionally in searching our entire customer support logs which track every phone, text, email and chat we can not find any reference to a Joe A. ### "Do NOT get union outside of texas"

Pretty terrible service overall. Very unhappy

Pros

Simple to use back and front end. Terrible service

Cons

This company should NOT have expanded outside of Texas. I own a portland bar and if something goes wrong there is no one in the region that can come help. My system as been down for a week. Ive been pushed off to at least 10 people and nothings been resolved.

### "Bad Credit Card Processor"

Nightmare

Pros

User friendly and menu design. Fast bar menu option, Closing tabs. Credit card swiping to start a tab.

Cons

Installer showed up at 7am to start install, installed system, stated he would be back at 6pm and never showed. Lost multiple tabs and customers due customers receiving fraud emails and txts from their credit card company, international processing, and cards declining. We have had to comp multiple tabs tonight and lost couple thousands of dollars in business as well as customers due to Union's credit card processing notifications being sent to customers. No employee training login # to train employees They charged us a $1,000 for menu build: -Menu items had no prices at all or missing -Registers not properly directed to correct printers -

### "UNION POS Review"

Pros

Not only do I use the software for Back of House operations, I consistently use it along side our baristas and bartenders in Front of House. In both circumstances the software set up for our business is easy to understand, easy to navigate and easy to troubleshoot when resolving issues. With that said, the Union POS System is very approachable and easily teachable for all our staff members.

Cons

When trying to find the exact report I need and it's hidden under Legacy Reports.

Honestly, I love it! Every other POS seems to be super outdated and kind of ugly to look at... Union is by far my favorite! It’s easy to train new employees on, which minimizes our voids and mis-rings. Also thankful for how simple it is to delete / adjust payments! THANKS UNION

Pros

Union is user friendly and guides you through its simple navigation features as you use it. There are multiple ways to accomplish what you want to do on the system and it’s easy to understand intuitively how to find what you’re looking for. There aren’t a lot of hoops to jump through to get things done within the Union POS system. It’s easy to backtrack after making mistakes regarding payment and that creates a low-stress mentality when handling money in a restaurant.

Cons

Union updates their system regularly and that requires a degree of re-learning as they implement new features. The updates usually improve overall efficiency but require adjusting what you already know about the system.

Cost Structure per device is very nice POS Layout and simplicity Management Report are well designed and functional

Cons

Customer Service is slow and often don't know what to do. I understand that company is just starting, however, you did sell me a 24/7 support model, and that was a key selling point based on your competitors horrible support models. Thought they promised me an iPhone Version when I purchased system
