We are in one competitive market for reviews and our competition was miles ahead of us with 100+ reviews. We have gained significant ground because of Podium and the automations. They have worked diligently to help optimize our solution and train our staff on best practices.

Pros

As a multi-location business we needed a solution to cover our unique geographical needs and integrate directly with our CRM. Podium was one of the few that could handle those requirements. Their team handled the whole integration for us and now it is fully automated and harvesting reviews at a record pace. Fantastic support and dedicated account rep.

Cons

I wish it would integrate with Yelp, Angies List and a few other platforms. The cost is a premium.

There was a few Glitches every so often where we could not use for a couple hours but most cases it we could just refresh and it would go back to working again!

We've really enjoyed using Podium for communicating with our patients while remaining HIPAA compliant and for generating a higher volume of reviews.

Pros

The texting feature is really convenient for our patients and they like being able to get real-time responses without having to call and potentially wait on hold. Plus the chat interface is very easy for our staff to use and manage.

Cons

I wish the review request feature would offer more customization, not everyone has a Google address or Facebook account so it is somewhat limiting for our patients.

Reason for choosing Podium

The Podium interface is user friendly and delivers just what we need. Plus the customer support team have been great so far.

Pros

It is extremely easy to connect Podium to your POS system and request reviews immediately after service.

Cons

It's a bit pricey, and it does take time and dedication to reap the benefits of increased reviews.

We are able to stay in touch and contact our customers much faster and the ability to send pictures of the work needed as well.

Pros

The ability to contact our customer via text message is huge in todays world. They respond quicker than waiting for them to call you back on the phone. The ability to dispatch a call to our technician right from the Podium and they can see all the notes and talk to the customer as well. The ability to get reviews and watch your company grow is wonderful! I absolutely love this program.

Cons

I think it is a little more difficult to use on your cell phone compared to the computer but just takes a little longer to navigate.

Customer support is great. I know there are less expensive similar products out there at present. We have decided not to switch as this product is working well for us.

Pros

24/7 communication with customers. This has been especially important during the pandemic.

Cons

I think it could process faster. I'm sure there is room for improvement in the user experience.

Reason for choosing Podium

I think Podium was first to market with the idea. We stick with our business partners. Cheaper is not always best.

### "Let Podium Do the Heavy Lifting...."

Before Podium we struggled to get good reviews, not because our guests didn't like us, we just didn't have a way of asking for feedback. We use to get 3 or 4 reviews a month. Now we get 40 +. Having Podium consolidate everything for us makes managing our reputation easy all while getting significant volume, which helps in all aspects of our business.

Pros

We like that Podium is the hub for all online feedback and that we can manage our social reputation in one place.

Cons

It would be nice if Yelp would play nice with others.

Pros

Does a great job getting reviews and obtaining great information to build online reviews and reputation.

Cons

The cost is very high. You get what you pay for, and podium does a LOT! Love the program just is costly.

We used to ask our clients to leave us a review, and they all said they would. Very few ever did. Since we got Podium, our reviews are through the roof. It makes it very easy our our clients to leave us a review.

Pros

I found it very easy to use and implement and very easy to train the sales associate to use

Cons

some of the comments from Podium are not easily discernable by non techie sales associates. When a request is asked more than once the response from Podium is not easy to understand.

Great decision for our orthodontic office.

Pros

We have integrated Podium to improve our communications with our orthodontic patients by offering texting, to facilitate potential patients to communicate with us through our website plugin and encourage patients to leave us a review on their experience at our office. This has worked really well for us, and we have reached a high level of patient reviews.

Cons

There are other software that offer additional services including Podium's offerings included although they may be pricier and not work in Quebec. A few issues when Google review links give issues.

Overall it is a great product for communication and payment. The send a payment link works great and the live chat or texting feature just adds to it.

Pros

The best part of the product is the live chat that can be done from the phone or desktop which makes it mobile for the ones that are always on the go.

Cons

The downfall to me is that the text messages that are sent out or received can be seen be anyone on the account.

I have had occasional issues reaching customer service but nothing that would prevent me from using the software.

### "THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM"

BEWARE!!!! This company is awful. I started this position in September of 2019. When I came on, we were utilizing Podium to get reviews. The software itself was fine, but did not produce results. So when I let them know we wanted to cancel our services, they gave me the run around FOR MONTHS! There are very few phone numbers that exist to get in touch with anyone from their company, and the ones you do find will lead you right to a voicemail that is never checked and the calls are never returned. Emails go completely unanswered, and if you get a response, it 9 times out of 10 never addresses your actual question. Stay very very far away from this company. No morals, and very shady at best. THERE IS A REASON THEY HAVE A D- RATING FROM THE BBB!!

Pros

The only pro I have is that it was easy to use.

Cons

Lack of morals and integrity. Non-existent customer service. Shady business practices. Over-simplified platform.

I use Podium daily. It helps me organize customers, keep communication lines open, and allows me to communicate easily and effectively without the need to hand off my personal number. I've basically closed and completed deals using Podium! It's an invaluable tool.

Pros

I love using Podium for work texts! I don't have to hand out my personal phone number so I feel a lot safer. I also use this every day! Get out information, talk about appointments, arrange deals. I keep the app on my phone so I can take work home when I need to.

Cons

Learning some of the features, like "open" v "closed" conversations, and the minimalistic design used to mark a message as such, is small and not intuitive. Once I learned, however, it all made sense. Maybe a switch design or something similar would be more intuitive.

We have a hard time getting third party reviews because we have reviews we sent out internally to better understand where we may have fallen short throughout the customer buying life cycle. Through Podium, we are able to better leverage our crews to ask and facilitate the review process so that we can get feedback on these other platforms.

Pros

It's focused so much on user experience. Both internal users and those leaving reviews are welcomed with an experience that helps drive results. There are other offerings that do similar things, but Podium is by far the most refined and feature packed.

Cons

It's expensive for what it is. However, the number of reviews you'll get completely offsets these costs. Just be prepared for somewhat of a sticker shock. The actual product is great~

Pros

Managing a sizable car dealership's online reviews can be a daunting task, but Podium simplifies that process. Manage the reputation and communicate with customers in one simple platform.

Cons

If it were more (easily) segmented by user, that would help. It seems that they are moving in this direction, but as of today, it still needs individual customization.

Overall a great system that makes it easy to see what people think about our business

Pros

Podium makes it easy they ask for the review for you. They filter out the bad and post the good. You can also use them for mobile payments and communication for multiple parts of your business

Cons

The back end tool is a little weak. No real way to clear out items that maybe where not addressed right away. Hard to follow the task organizations

### "Lied about deal"

Pros

Did not use the service because I was lied to by the sales rep. Very disappointing to see a rep professing religious connections treat us this way.

Cons

During the sales process I explained to the executive I would feel more comfortable with a 6-month contract instead of the 12-month contract he was asking for; I would've liked no contract but was trying to be fair. After getting permission from his boss, I was assured by him; he had "never seen his manager do this," so I thanked him and signed up. Two days ago I met with a company that uses us and Podium for business; our mutual customer explained he had signed up for a 3-month deal with the same executive a just prior to me signing up. He had been disenchanted with the actual use of the service compared to what he was pitched. The service does not match the pitch. He plans to cancel as soon as his contract is over. I then emailed the account support rep I was assigned - who took over a week to contact me, after signing the contract and billing my credit card, and instructed her to cancel my contract. I was then asked why I was canceling my contract without using it. When I explained she said she'd talk to the executive and his superiors. A day later there's no rush to get to me or confirm cancellation, but there sure was rush for me to sign up and pay! Caveat emptor. Oh and the customer I spoke with is still waiting on his promised golf balls from the executive...

Pros

It was user friendly and targeted a different type of customer/patient. Texting is the new way of contacting or communicating with other people and responses were quicker and more accurate.

Cons

The program was easy to use but it was hard to pinpoint exact lists when need be

The ability to communicate with customers has been beneficial to bringing them in, and the ability to send payment requests has been crucial.

Pros

The ability to send money requests to customers is very important. The constant communication from customers asking questions we are ready to answer also helps draw customers into the shop.

Cons

The ability to mark a payment as checked and noted in our own accounting and pawn software would be very helpful. Due to many people accessing the app and making sure that payments are seen and only applied to customers accounts once is very important, but unavailable on the app. If the ability to archive a payment would be available like on paypal that would be very helpful.

Fantastic

Pros

This program has given an easy way for customers to contact us, which was very nice during the pandemic here. It has also provided for a fantastic way to communicate with customers using my cellphone but without giving them my phone number. Not only that, it allows us to easily gather google reviews when we remember to utilize that function.

Cons

If anything, the only thing I can think of is to improve the design a little more in terms of user friendliness. But I can’t think of anything specifically at the moment
