April 29, 2019 5.0 For a small business free plan is really what you need. Sharing 2 images per week is ok for me as a startup. The pricing is ok and affordable if you want more features like collaboration. Pros It really workes nice for an online image manipulation service. Editing photos are really simple and with the help of filters, image editing is very fast. I love the click to import and drag and drop function. Sometimes it takes the whole area instead of selected but still, I need to learn it more. Templates and icons are really attractive and they are really useful when supplied for free. Cons I don't like the template construction as in search template. It really needed some more option to be enabled or added a search box for user input. Cons There are some parts of the UI that are not intuitive. For example, there are no lines. You have to create your own lines out of shapes and then shape them to your preferences. Stencil has made it easy even for those with little graphic design experience to produce excellent images ready for me to use. Pros The ability to quickly build social images is amazingly helpful, but even more so the ocean of assets at your fingertips such as free images and searchable quotes. Pros I really like this tool. I was not expecting it so be so good. It has a very good pictures editor, with transparent logo backgrounds, many options to crop pictures on the forms that you desive and when ready it send an SMS with the picture so that is easy to publish with a few clicks on Instagram. And also on other social media . I am not used to social media, and less to instagram, and with this tool becomes natural and easy to publish everyday. Cons I think it is a very good tool. We're pretty heavy into social marketing and Stencil offers fast speedy ways to create our specified social materials ready to post. Use chrome extension to bring up stencil, choose the type of social posting (predefined dimension layout), plug in the images and text layer, post it. Pretty neat. Cons This request can be unfair to Stencil but if they really implement it, it could be a killer tip over the others. Ability to import vector formats like svg, eps, ai and photoshop format. Similar players are into content generation AI but to me Stencil is about graphic creation so they may like to look into this direction. Review Source sara S. As I have a lifetime plan, I don't have to pay for all the additional features that may not be available in the free version. I love that I can upload my own graphics/images, easily change the format of my creation with a single click and the preview functionality is awesome. Overall, I highly recommend Stencil as a premier tool in your creative toolbox. Pros Stencil is easy to use, intuitive, and provides a great number of templates for those of us that need a jumpstart in the creativity department. Cons I would like for there to be a way to preview images and icons before adding them to your canvas. Not a big deal as you can easily delete the image or icon if you don't want to use it. I always get an extremely fast response and whatever my issue it is resolved. Pros Its ease of use and library of photos! I even use the Chrome extension to pull photos directly from my website for my posts and when I need a photo they have plenty to choose from. They also have a ton of preset sizes to choose from and I can save my own sizes for future use. Overall intuitive to use, easy, fast and saves me a TON of time. Highly recommend. I like the ease at which I can change formats and I especially like the new cropping feature. I have several friends who use Canva and I have no desire to change. Cons None really. And posting to facebook right from their platform is one thing I like the most. Pros They have amazing templates, millions of quotes ready for a design and you can post it directly to your social account. Saves a lot of time skipping the process of downloading and posting it to your facebook. Pretty simple and clean UI makes it the best app to design social media posts. Their wordpress plugin works like a charm. Edit images directly from the post itself . Cons I thought they had the quotes designed already so that i can post them without any other work. I use Stencil on a daily basis to create imagery for all of our clients. I teach social media marketing at a university and show Stencil to all of my students and they love it as much as I do. Pros I bought this during the early years and have always found it much easier to use than the other two (popular) packages I have access to. Updates are always being added, which increase Stencil's usefulness in many ways. I like the ability to add my own fonts and photos, but the thing I like the most is the thousands of photos that are available for use at no additional cost. Cons Trying to size a font is based on a slider, so it's not as accurate as some other packages and takes a steady hand to master. I'd like to have the option of creating a poster using portrait mode. It might be available, but so far I haven't found that pre-sized template. Review Source SF Sally F. Before a designer had to resize all images and it was slow and frustrating. I LOVE Stencil ....thanks !! Pros It has made my life so much easier. The image size conversion is so easy and the image quality is outstanding. I recently did a TEDx talk and so contacted Representative directly to ensure images could be used. He was amazing and replied immediately. I am in LOVE with Stencil as it simply makes life simple and you can be creative at the click of a button! Cons No issues with it at all. Sometimes I do a word search and no images appear- maybe a function to let Stencil know as they could then source images ....but I usually rethink and type another word and BOOM! I considered myself a happy customer. Pros Stencil is a tool that help non-designer like myself creating beautiful graphics & easily share it to your social media. Some of the features that I like are: - there are tonnes of royalty free images that we can use - integration with Buffer - ability to upload my own image - preset sizes for different social media, and - collection of quotes that I can choose from. Cons Comparing to other similar tools in the market, I really do hope that - they can improve the designs of their templates - improve on their design editing features. April 18, 2019 5.0 Pros You only need to try Stencil once to see what I mean. Everyone who is trying promote any kind of product or service online is faced with the same problem. You want to be on all the social platforms, but the problem is there is only so much time in the day. You just don’t have time to post everywhere. That’s where Stencil comes in. Imagine writing a blog post and then creating an image for it. Then imagine quickly repurposing the same image to create the right size image, with the same colors and fonts, for all of your other social profiles. Within a matter of minutes you have a complete set of branded images! And you can even post them to your social profiles right from your Stencil dashboard. There are other popular graphic design softwares out there, but Stencil was the first one that allowed you to create several different sized images without needing to start over from scratch each time. If you're looking to make quick and easy graphics, Stencil is perfect! I have other graphics software, but when I want/need something fast, Stencil is what I open to work in. Pros Easy to use (especially for those with limited graphics skills) Access to a vast library of images (royalty free for personal or commercial use) Excellent value (I did get it via AppSumo, but their normal plans are great value, and they have a free plan) Free plan option Cons Somewhat limited in features (which is why it's so easy, so it's a balance!) As your graphic skills grow, you may want something more robust. I use it multiple times a day, as a Social Media Manager, creating content for clients. It is very easy and adaptable for every size of your graphic design needs. With tons of templates, photos, and fonts I can get in and get out and on to the next task. Cons I wish they had a tool for font spacing, not just line height and the only other thing I would really like to see is mulitple page design palate for IG Stories. As it is now you can only create one at a time unless I am just not seeing another option.
