Social media marketing requires great graphics, and Stencil is a good way to get there. Pros Very easy UI and easy-to-use. Very easy to put your own company's watermark on a graphic to make it more professional. Stencil is constantly evolving and improving. They just added a WordPress plugin that I can't wait to install. But I would suggest you to use it as a trial before making a long term decision. Pros Very Good app if you want to get a banner done immediately. The app is fairly easy to use and convenient. The sharing across multiple platforms is easy. I love that they do give us free images and the features are really good. We can create a clean and neat banner with this. Cons As easy it is, it does come with cons. Uploading images and accessing gallery is almost close to impossible. I had many a time where is stop responding when trying to upload. Pros Stencil keeps improving and adding new features to make the software more useful and easy to create pictures for my Social Media posts. It is important to have good pictures to capture people's attention. Stencil is a great tool that serves my needs. I can easily create graphics to share as part of my content and marketing strategy. I like how it resizes the images not all programs do a true resize so that to me is really important. You can upload your logo, watermarks, and images that represent your brand. Cons There isn't a branding element to it, unless you decide only to use specific templates to keep your look consistent. The other drawback is I can't use it on the go. We've made a bunch of updates in the last few weeks to make Stencil much more usable on tablets, and we also offer Chrome, Firefox extensions, along with a WordPress plugin. Pros Easy to use software to make professional-looking ads and social media graphics with just a few clicks. Templates, stock images and icons allow for promoting any product or offer, and layouts allow for generating proper ad sizes easily. Cons A better solution to cataloging completed work would be nice -as of now, everything goes to one folder. In the past, I'd struggle to get elements to work right in other image and graphic-making apps. It'd take HOURS! Stencil eliminates all the stress and hassle. With Stencil, I have everything I need to make my website and brand stand out professionally without spending thousands of dollars and hours. Pros I was looking for help creating images to include on my website and in my blog posts and social media posts. I've tried other design tools --- ones chock full of bells and whistles so far beyond what I'd ever use. I went back right back to Stencil afterward. I love Stencil for its simplicity. It's SO easy to use yet it still offers plenty of powerful features that allow me to create a variety of images perfect for every need. I'm not a designer and Stencil gets that about me ;) Cons Honestly, nothing. It keeps showing me the cut & paste tip over and over and over and over. I wish I could turn off suggestions and tips. I like how it allows us to position our brand logos and colors seamlessly. Also the application is decently responsive. We used it to create images for clients and brands and some of our own Pros Ability to resize quickly - it's easy with getstencil to change the various elements and repupose for another social media platform Also now you can even push designed images directly to some social networks like Facebook Cons Design templates. It is so easy to use - even for someone like me who is computer/technology challenged. There's so many options for fonts, templates, stock images that sometimes it's hard to choose. I start off with picking an image that resonates with my brand personality and then add copy/layout. My brand's social posts always get great feedback from our followers - so I will just say to Stencil what followers tell me "keep up the good work". It's been one of my go-to tools for years now, and I don't know what I'd do without them! (Other than go back to Photoshop... which would take a million years longer!) Pros It's super easy to use, and has lots of great copyright-free images, so I don't have to worry about doing the legwork to find "legal" images to use for my projects. Cons Hmm. This is actually a tough question! Sometimes I wish there were more filter presets, but I usually find exactly what I need, and they're improving the software all the time. Pros The best part of Stencil is how easy it is to select a background image or upload one, create a custom graphic, and then resize it for any purpose (Social media, ads, blog header, etc). Cons They have lots of font styles but I wish they had more layout style for text, such as text in black borders which you could select by default versus having to do it manually. The chrome extension is awesome and their recently introduced wordpress plugins made it easy to us this tool withing the worldpress website. Can easily find any inspiring quote and can use it. No bugs or difficulty making images. I just wish their designs were aesthetically better, or even more contemporary. Pros This is definitely easy to use. Lots of features that were easy to figure out. Intuitive. You have the ability to make images right away for all the different social media platforms. Cons While I think Stencil is easier to use compared to Canva, Stencil does not have templates or designs near as attractive as Canva. Because of only this I find myself often switching to Canva for either inspiration or just to make te image. If Stencil improved that I would whole-heartedly recommend this. Until then I say it may be better to just save your money. It's been well-supported and added new features over the years (such as uploading your own fonts). Pros Great alternative to Canva! Lets me upload my own fonts. Has generous built-in libraries for icons, quotes, and royalty-free stock photos. Instantly resizes your graphics to whatever size you need and includes lots of common templates for social media ads, banners, etc., plus the ability to generate custom sizes. Cons The selection of image filters is limited and most are not very good, but I rarely use even the good ones, so it's not a big deal to me. Stencil gave me a ton of stuff free and was an LTD one-time purchase, so it was a no-brainer to switch. December 31, 2019 4.0 For quick touchups and social media editing and creation, stencil is one of the viable tools. Just insert template and images from the library and its done, ready for sharing. Pros I like the online image editing option, it is so convenient. I now use my mobile and Chromebook to edit photos, as they are enough to edit on the stencil. The stencil gives me the flexibility to work when I don't have my main machine. I use mostly to share on social media. It is so much better to just upload edit layer wise. The stock image is so beautiful and royalty-free, which makes it more economically viable to me. I use stencil for a quick edit when I don't have my pc around and only have Chromebook to work with. It gives me the power to edit but need a good internet connection. Cons Stencil need a good internet connection. Using Stencil helps us create beautiful professional looking ads and content. Pros Stencil's ease of use is above what was expected. Often when using a design tool - there is usually a learning curve but with Stencil - it has been super easy to be able to implement new ads and create new social content.
