Pros It is easy and fast to create social media images, and blog post images. You can quickly re-size, save, and edit. Easy and intuitive to layer up images and texts. I login to Stencil every now and then, so that speaks volumes about how much I depend on this tool. Pros Ease of use, the ability to pick royalty free images quickly. And the fact that you can post on multiple platforms from within Stencil. Cons This is not a high-end graphic designer type of tool, which is understandable, but still there is room for adding some features that can help customize text in a more versatile manner. Pros I've used most of the common photo image programs -- photoshop, paint, gimp. Stencil makes it easy to create social media ready images to help with promotion. I use it to help encourage Kindness in the world for the Everyday Kindness challenge (www.everyday-kindness.com). Stencil's stock images are the backbone of this project. Pros There are a lot of things I like about Stencil: - Easy to find photos you can use - Easy to use platform that allows you to add text, change image size, etc. - Share to your social media channels with the click of a button Cons Sometimes I wish there were more pictures available. I can share the images without any difficulty. Pros I really liked that it supports Arabic fonts and shadows on the text. This makes it easy to read. I can easily send the images via a SMS message. The company focusses on ease of use, and it is easy learn. Also, it has a large selection of images and clip art. The predefined sizes makes my life easy. Cons It needs a zoom-in function. Some of the sizes come up very small and it is almost impossible to select elements in the preview. Pros What I like most about Stencil is the very large library of images included. It's really helpful to be able to search and use images all in one place when creating marketing and social media content. Cons I wish that re-sizing and cropping the images was a bit easier. I sometimes save the largest version to my desktop and then upload it again into another program where it's easier to edit. It has everything that you need to create social media posts, make coupons or specials, create unique and eye catching announcement or call to action images, and to personalize and write on your pictures. It's a great program for anyone that's just starting to learn how to create their own images, or for someone who wants to make something quick and attractive. I think it's great for personal and business use. Cons I wish there was an app. The most difficult thing for me is that I do not have a touch screen computer. I've done all of my creatives on various apps. It's hard for me to get used to making them on my laptop vs my tablet and phone. It's going to take some time for me to get used to it. I don't need Photoshop license to create simple ads, as long as what I want is covered in the templates. Pros Very easy to use, especially relative to desktop solutions (e.g. Photoshop). User interface is intuitive. Cons Since it's template-based, if what you want is covered, great. Otherwise, you're out of luck. Sometimes you still need to use Photoshop for radical design. I no longer needed to open up a clunky photo editing program! Pros I really like that I can make quick images to share on social media without needing to use any other programs. Also, access to so many icons! Cons I wish the artboard had things like other programs... Snapping images, grids, better layer management. Still a very usable product, it can just be improved. It also comes in handy for power point page production. Pros Not everything to everybody, but what is does it does well. I get to assemble output I can use without fear or shame. It is quickly put together, and downloaded for instant use. The large array of images is easily sorted for quickly getting started. The ability to get the words you want where you want, formatted like you want is supplied in an intuitive way. you can get pretty fancy, but just to get the basics under your belt requires an extremely short learning curve. targeted output formats is a big plus. Cons The most annoying thing about any software is if it does not do as advertised, or if it does not do what you want. I have found nothing in Stencil that falls in either category. It doesn't have a ton of options which is a double-edged sword. The lack of options makes it easy to use and not intimidating to learn. However, I can understand that if you have complex needs for graphic design that Stencil might not be the tool for you. Pros Ease of use. Pros I love how easy it is to create professional-looking graphics without firing up photoshop. The various sizes and the graphics that are available make it simple and fun. Cons It's not the most user-friendly software I've used but once you figure out where things are and what you need to do, you can create great looking graphics pretty fast. Cons There is so much choice (which is good) that you can spend a while scrolling to get what you want (not a bad thing, but the reality of finding exactly what you're looking for.). Also, I save time by posting my images directly to the social media networks I used without the need to download them first. Pros I like the ability to post to the top social media networks directly. I frequently pin images to Pinterest. Stencil enables me to pick the Pinterest board and pin directly. Cons I am on the Pro plan, which enables me to save up to 50 images a month. If I need a different size of a saved image, that will count as another image. So I need to be either careful of the number of images saved or upgrade to the Unlimited plan. Pros The template library is huge, and unlike others, you can completely modify any and all aspects of any template. Cons There's not much to dislike, I guess if I had to dislike something, it can be difficult to include your logo on things, sometimes it just bugs out and doesn't add the logo.
