November 19, 2019 5.0 Before we started using Built for Teams, our PTO was just managed through a Google spreadsheet. Having a service like Built to track people's hours and requests has been a load off of those team members that were previously responsible for handling that. When I first decided to find a service for us to use, I did a couple of trials and demos with different companies. I was impressed immediately by the customer service provided to me. The demo was great and all follow-up conversation was responsive and helpful. Pros I love how simple it was to set up and how easy it is to use. We only need it for the most basic PTO management services, so we don't need to be in there often, nor do we need to use a lot of the features, but it does everything we need it to do and our team had no problems understanding or adopting it. Cons There are a few kinks we run into here and there. Just some things that don't behave the way I expected them to, but it was always easy to get around them or figure them out with no issues. So it's not a huge con, that's for sure. The Slack integration could be a bit more intuitive, but I know it's in beta so I assume it'll advance more. There was one thing we really wanted or needed that was missing from each of the others. Or their interface just wasn't intuitive. But Built for Teams had everything we needed and it was easy to use. And having to hassle HR to make sure I'm accumulating correctly on a regular basis. Pros Ease of use, ability to see the addition of PTO hours, submitted hours, and pending hours is well laid out and easy to follow. Cons Would appreciate the ability to set up reminder emails for pto hours added, or total hours accumulated. Or a statement of activity on a quarterly basis so the possibility of hours not accruing once they've reached the maximum limit. Pros We were looking for something that could accomplish a few goals to manage the PTO for a distributed team in different countries and Built for Teams had everything we wanted at a great price. It's easy to use and from the first day forward their customer service has been stellar. Everyone on the team responds quickly, with useful information and in a kind, warm way. It's a delight. Cons Little glitches like not being able to enter 3 hours but instead having to enter a time-frame such as 8:30am-11:30am. It's less flexible and not very good for our purposes. Cons The only con we had found so far with this system dealt with the ability to track certifications and licenses. Built diligently worked on finding a solution for that and has recently released the a new feature that resolves that concern. August 30, 2018 5.0 Pros As a school, we struggled for years to accurately manage and track the many, many requests for personal, professional, or sick time. Built for Teams was game-changing for us--for the teachers making the requests, for the administrators approving the requests, and for the HR and accounts managers reconciling PTO at the end of each year. It's effortlessly effective. Cons I wish we could program BFT to automatically notify our HR manager upon each approval. It is equally as useful to see how much time I have PTO time I have remaining in a given year. Cons There's nothing I don't like about this software, but if anything, it would be nice to have additional features like having a place to view current HR policies. After using it for a few months, it is now second nature to use. Pros It replaces all of the manual calculations I used to do and I can rely on the calculations to be correct. Cons Not being able to select which request I wish to modify or delete for a staff member and that they have to go back and enter any request that came after the one that was deleted. Reason for choosing Built We felt it was more user friendly than some of the other things we looked at. July 25, 2019 4.0 We have better communications on people's PTO time usage between management and bookkeeping. That alone is worth the cost of what it can do. But it also prevents confusion amongst our staff and who is going to be taking time off when. Pros If you are lookingfor software that's easy to use and helps you to manage your people's time, builtforteams is a great product. We are currently using it to manage our people's PTO time and our hourly employees timesheets. Cons on occasion, it's hard to find the right location to change a little information. Secretary/Treasurer/Payroll Marketing and Advertising Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Built for Teams is the BEST PTO tracking website" September 5, 2018 5.0 We were searching for software/a website that would enable us to keep PTO updated and accurate (we do not have many hourly employees and most other websites/software include hours worked, not just PTO). Built for Teams has enabled us to do this with ease. Employees are able to login and request for time off and supervisors are then able to go in and either approve or deny the request. Payroll is then able to run reports based on date and have easy access to who used what PTO during a pay period and then enter it into our accounting software to double check that the remaining hours for each employee are accurate. Built for Teams has been a huge asset to tracking PTO in our company! Also, the team behind Built for Teams is VERY responsive to and questions that we have had. They are quick to respond and very helpful! Pros The best part of Built for Teams is the ease of use and that it ONLY tracks PTO, not hours worked by employees. Cons Nothing....it's great! I think we used to be able to pull a report on terminated employees but that's not an option anymore. It would be useful. Also we find it hard to keep track of employees rolling over PTO year after year (eligible for up to 3 days per year, up to 10 days) - it's just confusing and some kind of tool that could help us with tracking that would be amazing. We also have part time employees with different eligibility and it would be nice to be able to set the roll-over rate individually vs. the same number being applicable to all and then we have to go in and change it for the PT employees. January 16, 2020 5.0 My overall experience with Built for Teams has been very positive, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to create a seamless process for handling PTO company wide. Pros Built for Teams has been an amazing addition to our company! It's very easy to use and allows both employees and employers to keep track of all aspects of PTO, from requests and approvals to time left to use. It also has a master calendar that can be viewed by everyone in order to see PTO being used by themselves and other people, as well as job anniversaries. April 5, 2018 5.0 Pros The aggregated out-of-office calendar is very useful for providing visibility across multiple teams and ensuring that the necessary approvals are made. Cons Approvals can sometimes take awhile and it's not clear how to check the status of them. It's true that approvers don't always take immediate action when they receive the PTO request notifications (even though the notifications themselves are immediate). Because the notifications are primarily via email, there isn't a reliable way to know if the approver has "looked at" a PTO request but...would it help if the system sent reminder emails to the approvers, reminding them that they have PTO requests still awaiting their review? September 6, 2018 4.0 Very positive. Pros This is quick and easy to use. I like the company-wide calendar view which makes it easy for me as a project manager to see everyone's vacation calendars in one view. I like that I can see how much vacation I will have accrued at a future date in time. Cons I wish this integrated better with our time tracking system, our accounting system, and our outlook calendars.
