I am not sold on it. Pros Very simple product to track PTO and Sick Days. Decent Web Interface and small app to request time off. #1 Pro - Cheap Cons It is very restrictive. The ical feeds don't work well on Mac. The way they handle everything according to Org charts is very limiting. There are no notification rules (for instance notify 1 month out of employee annual review). It is very simplistic overall. Regarding the iCal feeds on Mac, we use them extensively on Macs as do many other customers and we've not experienced nor heard about any issues at all. Perhaps it would help to go over the functionality of the product with you; it's really quite powerful and flexible but perhaps there are features/capabilities you're as of yet unaware of? February 26, 2018 4.0 When I need to request PTO, I can just go to the simple portal and get it done in less than a minute. Pros I like being able to view coworkers' birthdays and one-year work dates on the calendar. It makes planning events easier. Cons The Org Chart is not well formatted for horizontal orgs. Regarding formatting the org chart, if you click the Options button on the org chart, you can change the formatting to the "condensed" format which is better for organizations where the structure is very flat. October 28, 2020 5.0 Pros I mainly use this software to manage my personal PTO and to manage my direct report's PTO. It is simple and easy to use. I like how I get email notifications and that I can clearly see the history of days taken off. Cons I wish Built for Teams would link to my outlook calendar so I can see when my direct report was off instead of manually writing it in. It has allowed us to better track and oversee PTO as an organization. I'd love to hear more about how you think the system should work when taking time off that isn't consecutive days, i.e. you take some days off, work a few days, then take more days off. It seems like those \*should\* be separate requests but I'd love to hear more about what you think. Account balances can be viewed in days or hours. When submitting a request, though, the system does calculate how many hours that request will use. This is critical to having a system that is both highly accurate and highly flexible. I think there are a few products on the market that do everything in days, but those systems are extremely inflexible in terms of what they can support. Four simple tabs that have everything you need. My favorite part is seeing the paid time off. Being able to see the current balance, scheduled to earn, scheduled to use, and remaining this year and having the option of having it in days or hours. The other nice part of the tool is you can submit a vacation on the calendar or under the paid time off tab. It’s been helpful with document compliance for our quarterly safety and HR topics as well. Pros PTO request and tracking and the ability to approve via email. Cons Counts hours for salaried PTO not days. Since our weekend hours are shortened it can cause overages in PTO. Just easy to track for us and our staff. Worth the small expense. Pros It's super simple. When we hire a new employee, I have them fill out their entire profile so not only is it easy to track PTO and sick days, but all the HR info is in one place. Simple. Cons This may be possible, but I have not figured out how to sync the built for teams calendar to our fast mail calendar (Apple calendar synced). Would love it if it were connected. I just did some research on FastMail and according to their online documentation, it appears that they don't support the industry-standard iCal protocol. That's unfortunate! It might be worth reaching out to them to suggest that they put that on their product roadmap. Pros It's extremely easy to see how much time off I've had in different areas (sick, vacation, work trips away from the office) and to request time off in those different categories. Cons I could be wrong about this and just missing it, but I don't believe I can see in each category, how many days I have requested but that have yet to be approved. So, sometimes I look at my balance and wonder if it includes pending requests. Its a simple and well laid out product but doesn't have many bells and whistles. It is a good product for the cost. Pros The Software is easy to use and visually appealing. It gives just the basics. Cons It does not provide much functionality for rolling over excess PTO to be used in another year or other more complex situations that may arise regarding benefits. Great question/comment regarding time off scheduled for the future. If you look at the "detail" view on your PTO account you'll see that we show several different calculations. Your current balance reflects what is in your account as of right now. You should also see a line that shows what is scheduled for the future, so that you can easily see how much you have now and how much you will have \*if\* you take off all of the time you have scheduled. At first it felt a bit overwhelming but once I started using more often, I no longer feel that way.
