The portfolio accounting covers every requirement and we have customized internal and client reports in accordance with our needs. We like the stress testing, scenario analysis and other research tools. We also use it as an effective marketing tool. Cons It provides a lot of in depth functionalities and requires time to make the best use of this tool. However, the training and client support help enormously! We initially used it for our research & analysis, due diligence and fund selection. We now use it for all asset types including funds, Private Equity, Real Estate, equities and other asset types. After looking at many other portfolio management tools, we also implemented the PackHedge portfolio construction, management and shadow accounting module and it meets all our needs with the broad range of functionalities it provides. Pros Very easy to customize to our needs with custom fields, custom time series, custom windows, custom instruments, custom categories, custom reports, etc. The data management functionalities are way ahead of other solutions. The portfolio management and shadow accounting functionalities for mixed assets, together with the workflow tools, the rules & alarms, the contribution analysis by segment, the risk analytics, the stress testing, the due diligence and the powerful reporting, cover all our needs and more. Cons With such a rich range of functionalities, it does require time to learn how to make the best use of PackHedge™. It took some time to implement since most of our funds had more than 5 years of data, input the whole past was a challenge from our side. They also developed our very detailed client report. Pros The system is flexible and customizable. We were able to implement shadow NAV calculation, we have more than 40 portfolios (FoF) with different performance fees, share classes, series and the system can handle everything, if not they can develop for you. The system can support capital calls, distributions, calculate IRR and etc. Cons The system interface is a bit old-fashioned so some people in the office complained in the beginning. We make extensive use of Pack Hegde's Shadow Accounting module and client reporting. In general it is an easy to use and flexible product which suits our needs well. When things become tricky the customer services usually provides quick and efficient solutions. I would definitely recommend it. Pros Provides the possibility to acquire and import data from different sources and databases. Can be used as a centralized database. Is an easy to use Shadow Accounting tool For Hedge Fund portfolios. Provides shadow accounting features for other securities as well including PE It is possiible to generate many types of custom made reports Excellent and very efficient Customer Service / Support. Cons Some features can be complex, in particular on the reporting side. Good SQL programming skills are rquired to fully use the potential of PackHedge. The scheduling of many tasks from report production to portfolio valuations and data synchronization are available with the Scheduler module.
