Pros: This software, like any CAD software has a pretty steep learning curve, but it allows you to view and design 3d models for use with 3d printing or laster/cutting

Cons: The software is limited in feature set, but it has more than enough features to get you off the ground and running making your cad models

Pros: The generation of an MCAD file which allows generating a sequence of steps that can be programmed for the simulation of the mechanical design made, in addition to its incursion in the electrical design.

Cons: That the electric design tool is not very developed, it should be interactive like the mechanics module, it should also offer different packages with different costs that adapt to the budgets of different users.

Overall: I have done programming and automation work through this software for interactive development in the classroom.

Creo is a great software

Pros: Creo, which is a software similar to SolidWorks, is a great software for Engineering students to learn to use before they enter the engineering industry.

Cons: If you use other CAD software, Creo may take some getting used to. There are some functions that are a bit different and may not be intuitive.

Pros: You can build assemblies and test them. Easy to use and fast to hang. Great models in 3D, and also in 2D.

Cons: If it had more functions it would be great, since the software itself is easy to use. Otherwise it is fine.

Pros: -Similar functionality when compared to other 3D modeling/viewing programs
-Animation and image rendering preferred over other software
-Object contact detection less glitchy than other 3D modeling software

Cons: -Steeper learning curve
-Requires (prefer) more input conditions before showing preview
-Creating parts for assemblies can be time consuming and does not always update assembly file

Pros: Ability to build assemblies and test them is invaluable and has saved me a lot of potential wastage

Overall: Although menu based, the software is not intuitive and can take a while to learn - it is worth finding someone familiar with it for tutelage.

Pros: It is easy to navigate while working on CAD work. The view is really easy to work with once you understand the concept.

Cons: References could be a nightmare when you have to update the geometry several layers after. Need some used to.

I use Creo View Express a couple days a week to help show what I am achieving.

Pros: I really like the ease of assembling parts together. I also like how parts can be labeled to help in presenting or explaining what certain things do.

Cons: The one thing that I have a hard time with is that there are so many features that it took a while find all of the ones that I think are useful and learn how to use them.

Overall: I thought it was great for making presentations to groups on projects I am currently working on.

I have been using PTC 3D modeling packages for about 11 years.

Pros: I love that with this software I can share my 3D models with other non-engineers easily and quickly. They don't need to be an engineer to understand or use it.

Overall: You can share 3D models with anyone quickly and easily!

Creo View Express is a great little viewing program for your 2D drawings and 3D solid models.

Pros: It's a great program for viewing 2D drawings and 3D models. It's free, so non-engineers can use it without having to have an expensive seat of Creo, and it also allows them to make notes for the engineers.

Cons: It would always be nice to have more features, but it's a free program, so you get what you pay for.

Overall: It's a nice, free tool that allows our non-engineers view drawings and models and make notes about them.

Comments: The usability of the software is very much engineering process based and applying features is very smooth and it gives the notifications every time you make something beyond the reality. The main reason i like this program is just because it seems it has its own brain that suggests you and prevents you to do as per the universal law. And that makes the design manufacturable.

The disadvantage i think is its not for kids to play like game. its only engineering design tool.
PTC should add the capability of mechanical animation like we work in MAYA and 3DMAX.
