Pros: ease of use and hands off management has been amazing for getting apps to teachers quickly. Getting to use managed licenses for apps has changed the game for special education

Cons: Cost has been hard to keep justifying. The few things I didn't like Jamf Pro 10 has covered those issues.

Pros: Easy to use, fantastic support, amazing community. Actually having a great amount of folks that truly know the Apple community is invaluable.

Cons: The only thing I can think of that is wrong in any way with Jamf is the price, because, despite it being worth it, it's still a bit high for some customers.

Pros: Jamf Pro can do whatever you can dream up or simply take care of the essential tasks related to device management and user experience. The Jamf platform has been powerful enough for a variety of workflows we have designed.

Cons: The design was getting outdated in the 9 series interface. I am looking forward to the new layout in Jamf Pro 10!

Pros: Extensibility, and customization, zero day support for the latest OS releases. The customer support is second to none-they are the most responsible of any of our vendors. The techs that handle our incidents are always the right people for the job!

Cons: Pricing needs to be more competitive and scalable based on installation base. There is little to not like!

Cons: Some features are lacking. However version is going to resolve a few of the things that I thought were missing. Like having to scroll all the way to bottom of the page to hit save or edit.

Pros: What I like most about the software is that it has allowed our IT and Innovation Specialists to get iPads in students hands quicker. We are then able to manage everything remotely with them.

Cons: The fix is coming, but I do not like having to scroll all the way down to find a button to complete an action.

Pros: Power it gives when it works. I like that I can push apps to iPads and it does work. I like being able to sync data from Infinite Campus through Apple School Manager and into JAMF for Apple Classroom.

Cons: Lack of Batch updating; lack of exporting data; not being able to perform functions on a selected group of items not in Smart Groups

Pros: How you keep up with all the new Apple features and make it easy to use the newest Apple tech, tools, and processes.

Cons: Jamf 9.x UI leaves a little bit to be desired as far as scaling with the window. Configuration profile push failures are hard to track down and re-push. I would love a "push all failed again" button for configuration profiles

Overall: it powers my business. I would not be able to have my business without JAMF

Pros: I like the clean and logical interface. I find it very intuitive. The interface is usually quite responsive as long as the server is scaled properly. Which ours is now. :-)

Cons: We encountered a small glitch our last update (9.101 I think) where some of the text under the icons were in all capital letters which made some things hard to find because the text would overlap.

Overall: One of the primary benefits I get from this software is that makes my job easier and more efficient in managing our fleet of iPads and soon we'll be adding Macs.

Pros: I like the ability to provide a front end store for the end user. This allows us to empower the user to install what they need when they need it.

Cons: Some of the triggers in policies are hard to use and a lot of times don't kick off well.
The policy trigger frequency should be able to have custom days - currently the shortest time is 1 day and the next up is 7 days. If we could do custom, then I could set it to 3 days or 4 days, etc.

Pros: Ease of use, support, and Self-Service. Prior to using JAMF setups took a long time. We started using Casper and had on on prem server. Moving to the cloud was a godsend and one less thing we had to manage.

Cons: Excited about the updates in the newest version of JAMF. Its funny, but I hate scrolling all the way down to perform actions.

Pros: I like the zero touch aspect. Getting a user up and running fast is perfect. I also like how to can apply software from self service so wherever the user is they can get the software they need to complete their job.

Cons: Our only issue is getting it to work with LDAP. We have to manually hand the user account info into the jss after zero touch. If we can get that working where it is all automated will be great.

Overall: Zero Touch, it is an easy way to manage all our Macs and it is great for setting up a Mac.

Pros: The ease of use for most people. It is very easy to show other people how to use it and easy to set privileges for those users.

Cons: We have to pay for support. When I had my own TAM I had great support. When I have to call into the 800 number, it takes much longer to get a problem solved and you end up speaking to numerous people who don't know your system as well as my TAM did.

Pros: Ability to scope add/remove software and configurations at will. Able to 'lock down' some student machines with higher restrictions without the need to touch the device.

Cons: Some of the support setup that goes beyond the software it self is lacking. Part of that is a limitation of my own knowledge, but at times it is nice to have support able to help with some of those items.

Pros: The most important things I need to do (for my users to be successful (with minimal manual intervention) to manage a macOS or iOS device are nearly all implemented as core functionality.

Cons: Practically everything I want to do takes a lot of clicks, and very little is intuitive or standardized in the Web interface. Some options don't exist for logic ("if not" or "like" is inconsistent), and the "Done" button is just one more click. Very few intuitive choices such as "Save and repeat" are available.

Pros: Intuitive GUI, fairly easy to understand how to setup policies and profiles. I think the version 10 GUI will be a big improvement on this, as well.

Pros: I like the ease of use and the pretty much immediate support that Jamf has towards Apple's releases.

Cons: The only thing that I kind of don't like is that it seems that the Jamf site does not play well with Chrome. But that may have changed with Jamf Pro v10. The same with managing on mobile devices previously on version 9, it was horrendous. But I believe v10 changes all of that.

Cons: It takes planning and training to integrate Jamf into the workflow to fully utilize the many features. Although the training is costly for new users, thankfully the JamfNation community is always helpful to bridge any gaps.

Pros: I love the intuitive Smart Grouping and Inventory collection. We've tried numerous tools for our Mac deployments and JAMF was the only one that gave us the information we needed in a clear and concise format. It is an essential tool for our day to day workflow.

Cons: While the Inventory and MDM offerings of JAMF Pro are unrivaled it would be beneficial to see better RMM functionality and MSP support. In our environment we have to rely and JAMF and other solutions (i.e. Addigy) for in-the-moment RMM support. I would love to see active client connections to run script remediations and Terminal commands directly and/or integration with a remote control solution like ScreenConnect or TeamViewer.

Overall: The best benefit is limiting time I have to spend with assisting my Helpdesk with issues by pointing them to pre-built packages and policies in our JSS. Also Self service has drastically reduced the amount of help desk tickets, clearing up the noise for us to focus on more essential tasks.

Pros: The best in class MDM management that allows us to get really creative with how we serve our user base.

The API is flexible and allows our developers to use Jamf in collaboration with a number of other tools.

Cons: Quality control around recent releases, where the push to meet new Apple functionality seems to come at the expense of function of existing features. A more robust test and release process is needed.

Feature requests can languish for a long time with seemingly no traction.

The Self Service app until the Jamf 10 preview wasn't a great user experience. Configuration profiles are clunky when they offer multiple options and can disable features accidentally.

Pros: It's easy to create specific profiles and smart groups to automate the distribution of content to our pediatric patients that meet their needs based on developmental age. We are so excited to begin implementing the healthcare listener in the hospitals we support now and that we will support in the future to continue automating our iPads for Kids Program further and ensure HIPAA compliancy.

Cons: Our team does not have an IT person, so we are relying on less technical people to implement our program. We are so thankful for an amazing Jamf support team because the program alone is a bit challenging to learn for people who don't have that IT/technical background.

Overall: Jamf has enabled us to transform our program from a fully manual operation to an automated and scalable model. We are now able to expand our program to hospitals across the country because of Jamf.

Pros: Excellent management software for Apple devices. Easy to use, easy to set up, great customer support, and effective user experience for end users.

Cons: Currently only allows MySQL for a backend. This can cause an issue if your company does not support MySQL.

Good product better support.

Pros: Cloud support for server and deploy management. great support team and great user base for support and help.

Cons: Needs more admin workflow support. Needs more cloud platform support. Better support for viewing scripts, packages and policy interaction. support for better view trigger policy fail.

Great support, somewhat simplistic UI, haven't had too many issues.

Pros: Smart groups are weirdly fun to use. Configuration profiles are really neat too. You have the option to build simple configuration profiles within the JSS but then you can also upload specific ones either made my other users or yourself.

Cons: The edit button underneath the inventory section seems in the wrong spot. If editing a computer's information, the edit button should be easier to get to. If that makes sense.

Overall: We can give the scientists applications and licensing in a much easier way!

There's nothing that comes close to this level of granular control.

Pros: The ability to centrally manage iOS and Mac devices with the sweeping abilities that it has. DEP, VPP, Configuration Profiles, Scripts...it's comprehensive.

Cons: Some of the auditing on what is applied to particular devices is very limited. Certain config profiles are buggy due to being originated in the JSS (Login Window in particular)

Overall: The ability to manage all aspects of the Mac ecosystem. As generic as it sounds being able to do it all in one place vs the Munki, puppet, plus, etc is not helpful in a large, face paced environment.

I use JAMF on a daily basis to manage over 8000+ iPads and 1500+ Macs in our K-12 School District.

Pros: I like the ability to see our entire fleet and manage them from my office. The integration with VPP and DEP is excellent for both ease of deployment and usability.

Cons: I don't like how the software doesn't limit you from doing something wrong - it basically enables you to go beyond the limits of the software and you only know you have gone too far when it breaks.

Overall: The benefits of the software are that you can control and manage thousands of devices from anywhere, anytime. What used to be done by visiting multiple schools is now managed from centralized IT.

Pros: The Ability to use the software and manage Macs. Macs used to be managed manually and it was a complete and total pain.

Cons: I don't have the ability to limit packages in the JSS to site admins. I want to limit site admins from seeing scripts and packages from other sites.

Overall: I don't have to manage Macs manually anymore.

I could not assist in managing AESD's computers without it!

Pros: This software allows me to manage over over 10,000 devices with a tech staff of 14 including 1 tech director, 1 lead tech facilitator, 3 tech facilitators, 1 network tech, 1 server tech, 1 windows support tech, 3 level 1 techs and myself. I managed the OS side.

Cons: If there is any delay in loading pages. Sometimes I have trouble building smartgroups in a smart way - like when to use "like" or "is". There is not a lot I have to say negatively about this product.

Overall: I could not do my job without it,.

Pros: How easy it is to manage settings and deploy software. We have tried with many other tools and this is the easiest. It saves so much time

Cons: I would like more management options.

Overall: We were able to centrally manage our Macs and it was easy and took less time than other products

Couldn't live without it!

Pros: We have been using jamf pro for over 2 years an we couldn't manage our Macs as easily as we do without jamf pro. jamf is flexible enough to support 1-thousands of Macs.

Cons: Unable to connect to Active Directory easily and remote in to Macs no matter their location. I have no more cons. I had to type more.

Used Jamf Pro to deploy 300 iPads at a school. Everything went great!

Pros: Ease of management. Making changes is simple and quick. User interface is intuitive and easy to navigate.

Cons: I don't like that I can't enforce iOS device names after the prestage enrollment. This may be an Apple thing and not Jamf though.

Pros: The best thing about Jamf Pro is being able to hire engineers that have been trained in the solution. When you work for large organizations, this helps.

Cons: Currently open source products like Munki and AutoPkg do a better job of handling routine software patching. Hopefully this changes soon in Jamf Pro v10.
