### "Great for Apple Device Management"

December 11, 2023

5.0

Deployment and setup was very quick and easy. We only use for iPads and Apple TV's and I am easily able to manage there without any major issues.

Pros

Exceptional ease of use. I think the interface is very user friendly. Device enrollment, app deployment and updates is very simple. If I encounter an issue, the customer service is also very exceptional.

Cons

Really the only two dislikes I have is the apps not updating with me forcing the update and the price. We are not a large company with under 300 iPads/Apple TV's deployed, but the price is a bit much. The cost/benefit ration is not there.

Reason for choosing Jamf Pro

The ease of setup and use was what we needed at the time of deployment. We needed something rather quickly and jamf fit the bill. Grant the cost was a bit more, but we do like the options we have.

### "Apple hardware management made easy"

January 8, 2026

5.0

Jamf Made Ipad/macbook management simple for deployment to classes and installing volume licenses. It also made tracking devices easy. we could locate ones still in the building or find ones that were stolen

Pros

I could make an install package based on what has changed. this means I could install apps, change settings, add or remove files and make a deplorable package file easy

Cons

We only used it for apple products. We had to use other product for windows and chromebooks. This isn't really a problem with Jamf, it just that we had to use several MDM suites

### "Pretty good but takes time to get used to"

April 18, 2026

5.0

I would say overall quality is good but not amazing. It does what it should most of the time, but sometimes things feel slower or more complicated than needed.

Pros

really strong when it comes to managing apple devices, thats probably the best part. once you get used to it you can automate a lot and save time. also pretty flexible, you can customize a lot of things how you need it. overall it works reliable most of the time

Cons

the interface is kinda confusing sometimes and not very intuitive. also pretty expensive for what it is. support can be slow at times which is a bit annoying. some features feel more complicated than they should be and take time to figure out

### "MSP Managers Honest Review"

January 12, 2026

3.0

Coming from Meraki MDM Jamf was a totally different experience. Its hard to use, complicated to understand and requires a lot of background in development to understand.

Pros

I like how easy it is to onboard a new computer through JAMF. We use HTML onboarding and with the click of a button a clients computer/tablet/phone is onboarded.

Cons

I dislike the interface, navigating the interface, and honestly finding anything. It makes it almost impossible to be an admin of the platform without a certification or some background in dev work.

Waste of time and money, get Iru/Kandji instead if you want to have a clean and easy setup without tons of scripts and unnecessary workarounds. Their migration tool is great.

Pros

I didn't really like it because standard functions that every company needs where a total pain to setup and the documentation is behind a paywall aka courses.

Cons

Standard functions like auto-updates, self-service, auto-download apps when an employee opens the laptop for the first time, the dock configuration needing an extra script, ALL needed a bunch of scripts, workarounds and it's just a waste of time. Customer support needs ages to answer and if they do they refer you to some random article.

### "Good MDM Option"

January 9, 2026

5.0

Overall it has been positive. It is a good service for us, and it has worked well. I was thrown into a project with having to use Jamf Pro and having zero knowledge of it. I was able to quickly pick it up and become successful with it.

Pros

Jamf Pro is easy to use and easy to implement. Their Customer Support is great. They have great Device Management, and seem to be a good value for money.

Cons

A bit of a learning curve at first. But after you get the basics down, it is easy to get familiar with all the other parts of it.

### "Jamf makes Apple device management easy"

December 13, 2024

5.0

Jamf is superb value for money and probably the best MDM solution we have tried over the years.

Pros

Jamf has enabled us to manage out fleet of staff and student Macs with ease, offering super support for day-1 features every year, and smoothing out all sorts of device restriction/interaction scenarios, along with app deployment

Cons

The interface was a little clunky at the start, and we had some teething issues with device connectivity, but these issues have all gone away in recent times.

### "Excellent Apple-centric MDM"

February 23, 2026

5.0

Overall, Jamf Pro is a great tool to manage Apple devices. There are a few zones where it could be improved and the team are hopefully working on them. Their support team is, however, always fast to answer and they provide great help.

Pros

Jamf Pro is a powerful tool when it comes to manage Apple devices, whether they are laptops of mobile phones/tablets. It offers all sorts of controls and streamlines deployment of Configuration Profiles or Policies. Their API, though a bit cumbersome as it's divided in two versions (Legacy and Pro) allows for automations of almost all aspects of the platform.

Cons

Some part of the interface are a bit dated and lacks flexibility. Feature requests around these issues are not always acknowledged despite them being sometimes opened for years.

Pros

We use Jamf at our company to help manage all of our Apple devices, specifically Macbooks. It helps our IT team streamline the laptop software and setting updates across all laptops.

Cons

Jamf is specific to Apple products only so you will need to find another solution if you have windows/PC.

### "Powerful Apple Device Management with a Learning Curve"

April 30, 2026

5.0

verall, my experience with Jamf Pro has been very positive, especially for managing Apple devices at scale. It stands out as one of the most reliable tools for handling macOS and iOS environments, making tasks like deployment, updates, and security much more efficient. Many users say it saves significant time and simplifies IT workflows once fully set up.

Pros

Its seamless Apple device management—especially zero-touch deployment and automation—makes managing Macs and iOS devices fast and efficient.

Cons

The biggest downside is the complexity and learning curve—it can be overwhelming at first and takes time to fully understand.

### "Highly recommend!"

June 16, 2025

5.0

Pros

The UI is very intuitive and clean. It is organized in a way that makes sense for any user and makes management of all the employees and their devices very simple. It has made the onboarding process so much easier as well as a better more clear control of security on hardware.

Cons

There is nothing that I can think of. It has all and more for possible integrations with all the applications we use.

### "Jamf Pro in a 10k+ company"

June 13, 2023

5.0

Pros

Easy to use and understand cloud management of corporate devices. Highly customisable to your own liking making zero touch deployment on all our devices possible. Distributing, updating and maintaining software packages (albeit with the help of 3rd party solutions) is easy and helps to keep your devices up-to-date and safe.

Cons

Patch management should be made easier. The app catalog area seems to be more of a beta instead of a polished product.

### "Solid iPad and Mac OS management platform"

August 4, 2020

5.0

We are using Jamf to deploy iPads user and device-based in a school setting. While, it can be tricky keeping those two deployments separated, the platform makes it easy and intuitive with the layout.

Pros

Jamf is a solid platform with an intuitive interface for managing your Mac and iOS devices. We use it for device and user-based app implementation and it is a smooth roll-out every time. They have a great support team to ensure that your Jamf instance is what you need it to be for your environment. The JNUC, user conference, is also a blast to attend.

Cons

What I have found is occasionally, there is an issue we will find that has no solution, or we change what we are doing in a way that it becomes a non-issue before it gets solved. There have been 4 occasions in 9 years. 2 went away as mysteriously as they came. 1 became a non-issue when we changed our workflow. The last one I am still working through, which is where the wonderful support people come in.

Reason for choosing Jamf Pro

Mosyle still required a lot of touching of devices for setup and application deployment, whereas Jamf has a "zero-touch" method that requires very little action on the part of our very small (2 person) IT department.

### "Jamf Pro Use In To Manage School Devices"

August 4, 2020

5.0

One big aspect of JAMF that we love and it is not software related, is their Tech Customer Service. Over the last 6 or 7 years, we have never had a bad call with JAMF's customer service. Every time we call their support or chat with them, we receive exceptional support. Even if we have a big problem, they stay on top of it and follow up until it is resolved.

Pros

The ease of use for users to have the ability to update or install software, at the click of the button. We love using Self Service, this allows us to install or update software and drivers without the user needing to bring the device to us. Jamf Pro also gives us control of what gets installed on devices and what settings get pushed automatically. You have the ability to create groups of devices and get as granular as you want with groups.

Cons

Not really a "Con", but it would be great if the reporting was a little bit easier to get. You can download several different reports, but I think JAMF still has room for improving their reporting.

Reason for choosing Jamf Pro

JAMF seemed to have the most experienced with Mac products. Since we are a Mac school, that was a big plus. JAMF also had the features that we needed at the time. We also checked with other schools that were using it and they gave us excellent reviews of the software.

### "Best in Class"

August 26, 2020

5.0

Excellent IT tools. The community Jamf have created around their products is second to none. Jamf Pro has helped my career immensely.

Pros

Jamf Pro is far and away the best product I have used to manage Apple computers in an enterprise environment. Its easy to use, the learning curve is short. Jamf Pro is reliable and powerful. There's a reason it has become the industry standard for Apple device management. Support from Jamf and from the Jamf Nation community is second to none. I know if I have a problem I can turn to Jamf Support or Jamf Nation for help finding a solution.

Cons

I would like to see a more customizable, dynamic GUI. I would like to be able to dynamically drag around items in the Dashboard. Clicking on items to remove them from view in the Dashboard would also be very helpful for cleanup and organization. I would also like to see better effort in improving Patch Management.

Reason for choosing Jamf Pro

Ivanti took over the LANrev product third hand. I had used the product as Absolute Manage & HEAT LANrev and the product had deprecated significantly.

### "Good all-in-one"

July 24, 2018

4.0

Inventory and asset tracking, single location to manage all macs, lots of community support

Pros

jamf has an advantage of having MDM and policy/self-service built-in to one, and it manages macOS and iOS in the same platform. There are a lot of things that jamf does really well, and being one of the larger platforms it has a great community around it.

Cons

jamf has a lot of limitations and does some things poorly. They have grown in their release cycle which has helped with Apple's quickly changing landscape, but there's still a lot that is customized. Often you don't know there's a limitation until you're in the weeds and realize that jamf doesn't do it at all or doesn't do it well. Our environment (and most) have a lot of customization in order for it to run smoothly

### "Efficient Device Management with Jamf Pro"

December 26, 2023

5.0

Pros

I appreciated Jamf Pro's user-friendly interface and robust features that streamlined device management. It made tasks efficient and offered great control over our Apple ecosystem.

Cons

Although generally satisfied, one drawback was the learning curve for some advanced features. Additionally, occasional updates caused minor disruptions in our workflow.

### "World Class Product- Gold Standard for Mac Management"

August 4, 2020

4.0

Extremely please with the product, the features, the support and the cost. I would definitely recommend to anyone who was planning to invest in a Mac management tool.

Pros

When we were evaluating management tools for our environment, we quickly came to the conclusion that there was not a one size fits all solution. Once we realized that, every other institution we contacted asked if we had looked at Jamf yet. Once we started looking at the product, the ease of use, the feature set, and the features that allowed us to customize the end user experience, we knew that this was the only product we could use. Jamf customer support has been great from the initial install, transition to cloud, upgrades and general support questions.

Cons

Local server upgrades. During the time we had our own on site server, we performed upgrade. Most of the time they went OK, but it was a complicated process with many pitfalls, and seemed, on some occasions, to require a fair amount of pure wizardry. This is was generated most of my support calls with Jamf.

Reason for choosing Jamf Pro

Gold standard, focused on macOS, cost.

### "One Stop Shop for Managing all Apple based Devices"

September 22, 2020

5.0

Very satisfied. Coming from a 100% windows experience myself I wasn't sure what to expect, but the remote Jump Start option (paid for seperately) is worth the $ if you want to get started on time and properly. The only thing is come prepared with questions, as the jumpstart is more of a "This is what a Jamf admin would do" and not "Here let me set this up for you". Otherwise this checks all the boxes from a compliance, security, and usability perspective and we are very happy to have replaced Intune with Jamf Pro for MacOS.

Pros

1\. The features are very robust, and development announcements are released very frequently 2. Some of the more straight forward features and policies are very easy to implement for even junior admins 3. Cloud based availability enables lean shops with no on-premise capabilities to get started 4. Custom scripting available for the more advanced admins 5. Decent reporting and auditability. Haven't investigated reporting/metrics with 3rd party solutions but simple reachs indicates this is possible or being worked on

Cons

1\. The UX is horrendous, and for someone that doesn't live and breathe the solution it becomes hard to find certain items when I need it 2. Flushing errors can be more intuitive, they did implement auto-rerun on failed policies just recently so hopefully that improves things

### "A must have for asset management for Mac Systems"

May 17, 2019

5.0

We needed a way to manage laptops for local and remote employees as well as push updates and software such as antivirus and Office. We had between 100-200 Apple laptops to manage and it was hard to do one by one. And the new hire process was slow to setup laptops without this software. After a few weeks of learning how to use JAMF we could order a laptop from Apple through our company e-commerce store and have it shipped to office or a remote employee and it would be setup, joined to AD, software installed, etc. right out of the shrink wrap. Can’t image using anything else now, but does have a steep learning curve.

Pros

Best way to ensure all Macs are up to date, ready to go with business required software installed. Works straight out of the shrink wrap.

Cons

Very steep learning curve. Lots of short scripts to install different software. They do have a good CS team to help onboard you and check back in if you need help. But expect to spend the first week or two learning how to get it to do what you want. Don’t expect to learn how to deploy this without designating a lot time on learning it.

### "Still best of breed - but might be overwhelming in funcionality for small and medium businesses"

April 17, 2023

4.0

Still my solution of choice - tried competitors but they fail the trial procedure in very early stage

Pros

Thorough training and certification programme, very responsive and helpful user community (Jamf Nation), still probably the most powerful mobile device management solution for macOS/iOS-fleets

Cons

sometimes not very responsive in the remediation of product issues, kinda pricy and feature-wise overloaded for average businesses without advanced requirements

Reason for choosing Jamf Pro

### "I've been a huge fan of Jamf since we started using it about five years ago!"

August 2, 2017

5.0

Ease of management for laptops and iPads, amazing product support when issues arise, and even though I'm not the money guy it appears to be well worth what we do pay and includes tiered levels so that as we increase the number of devices in our district we pay a little less per unit. I also love JNUC as an educational and networking resource.

Pros

It's terrifically easy to use. The absolute best thing about it, however, is that other people think I'm a wizard at how quickly they get results when they need something. They can literally request an app and in most cases have it assigned within less than 2 minutes of me getting notification.

Cons

The Java component. I know it's necessary for some reason or another, but java has been an absolute terror for us in the district for various reasons (not all related to Jamf). That said, yesterday our java version on the JSS server updated all by itself and things went south very quickly. A quick support chat session with Jamf and we were back up and running after reverting to the old java.
