September 19, 2017 5.0 There are no other products on the market that do what this product does. Nothing even comes close as far as Mac and iOS management are concerned. Pros Ease of use. I can quickly train my Windows centric team, as well as less technical people throughout the company, to get useful information from the web console. I like that even as you get to more complex configurations, things still seem easy and intuitive. Cons Sometimes we have some weird issues while running policies. We've attempted database cleanups, and other maintenance, without too much luck. That being said, our support has been fantastic. Review Source RM Richard M. August 2, 2017 5.0 Far more efficient and effective Apple device management and deployment. Pros There are numerous levels to manage Apple products at. Once you have a structure built it is easy to deploy Apps and manage devices with or without user restrictions. Providing access to network printers is easy. Tasks that formerly took a long time by hand now are accomplished by policies applied to the device. It is very easy to configure new or reconfigure devices as staff comes and goes, or new equipment is purchased. Cons There is a lot of navigating through the pages (web interface) to accomplish tasks that are managed with multiple policies and configurations. May 4, 2018 4.0 Pros Easily able to deploy apps and restrictions to our Apple devices in our district through the Self Service application. Cons Occasionally have database issues which require contacting support and rebuilding the database. I work in a Windows environment so having JAMF really keeps things organized and manageable for my mac and mac users. Pros Self Service. Having that available for users to download and manage their macs, helps a lot in managing hardware and software. Cons Cost. It is pricey for the amount of users that we have (30 or so) but I still think it is necessary. I am the mac admin and my office is in Seattle and 98% of the mac users are in Portland. Once done, we can very simply prove that status to any auditors that ask. Ensuring that every machine is secure helps our IT team sleep soundly. Cons There is a rather steep learning curve. A lot of that is the because of the power of the tool. Right after that event we jumped on the Jamf Pro train and really never looked back. The initial Jumpstart event lead by the support team was very helpfull. It only took us 2-3months of tinkering and testing before we went live without any major issues. In the last year we had some questions for the Jamf support and they we really helpfull and did a grear job. Pros Easy Mac management solution with a big and good support community. Zero Touch Deployment is clearly the best feature. Cons how policies are organized in general. It would be better to have somethings like folders along the categories that are already there. There are a handful of other tools that we had looked at and this one was far and away the best. Pros Full suite is everything I could have asked for in a management and configuration application. Being able to configure everything from a web browser with the addition of the casper admin tools makes management accessible and easy. Cons There is a bit of a learning curve when starting to use this software. Nothing that can't be overcome with some work but some things aren't the most easy to identify. Review Source Jeff R. It’s made a world of difference with having all apple devices managed through one software. Pros It is intuitive and easy to setup. Easy to move when upgrading servers. Having to make changes with software is easy, but support is always there to help. There is also jamfnation community which is an invaluable tool for finding help, scripts, documentation, etc. Cons The software can be slow without making some advanced setting changes. It makes the ease of use great for seasoned vets of the software to someone just using it for the first time. The community is wide spread and helpful with anything that you need. You can speak with a rep or someone across the globe and you will always find someone that wants to help you out. Cons The only issue that I would say would be the ease of getting to some of the training classes. I live in the Atlanta area and it would be great to have the 350 and the 400 courses in my area. Easy to use, easy to set up, great customer support, and effective user experience for end users. Cons Currently only allows MySQL for a backend. Pros I like the fact that this software has a ton of different features allowing me to customize it to my needs. I can easily access the software from anywhere meaning that I can work on the go which means I have more time to get things done. Jamf has easily made my role of being an admin so much easier. Cons I wish that customer support was more easily accessible. October 24, 2017 4.0 The benefits of the software are that you can control and manage thousands of devices from anywhere, anytime. What used to be done by visiting multiple schools is now managed from centralized IT. Pros I like the ability to see our entire fleet and manage them from my office. The integration with VPP and DEP is excellent for both ease of deployment and usability. Cons I don't like how the software doesn't limit you from doing something wrong - it basically enables you to go beyond the limits of the software and you only know you have gone too far when it breaks. We are now able to expand our program to hospitals across the country because of Jamf. Pros It's easy to create specific profiles and smart groups to automate the distribution of content to our pediatric patients that meet their needs based on developmental age. We are so excited to begin implementing the healthcare listener in the hospitals we support now and that we will support in the future to continue automating our iPads for Kids Program further and ensure HIPAA compliancy. Cons Our team does not have an IT person, so we are relying on less technical people to implement our program. We are so thankful for an amazing Jamf support team because the program alone is a bit challenging to learn for people who don't have that IT/technical background. We are assured that any Mac coming in the door will be managed and managed reliably. Pros Jamf Pro is great! It provides the most features for MacOS and iOS support. It provides everything any other MDM solution will provide but with day-zero support for new OS releases and a Self Service application for end users. I've used other MDMs (AirWatch and LanDesk), and this is, by far, the easiest one to use. It's quick to get up and running, the yearly costs are low (on-prem), and there are a lot of fun Cloud solutions that can be set up. If you manage Macs in any capacity-- this is the only product to consider. Cons Not in love with the training regimen (higher level certs require pre-reqs.), as the first two certs were basically reviews. I love the customer support that we receive! Cons Some features are lacking. However version is going to resolve a few of the things that I thought were missing. Like having to scroll all the way to bottom of the page to hit save or edit.
