I am so glad we made the leap into a board software and BoardPro has made it extremely easy. Pros BoardPro has been excellent for us automating our board minutes. Creating them directly from the agenda makes the process so easy. The customer support at BoardPro has been too-notch and I have been really impressed. The value you get with BoardPro for the money spent is extremely valuable. Cons To be honest, I don’t have anything I don’t like about BoardPro. I would recommend a more robust calendar view of board meeting events, and the ability to create other board related events (not board meetings) that can be viewed and filtered on the same calendar view. This way board members can see all events and board related activities that are important for them doing their job governing the body of their organization. Painstakingly slow, sometimes very hard to collate all information and really not easy to convene, I used to dread some of these meetings. Not any more, BoardPro kinda does it all... except speak!! Pros I really like how easy it is to use and how intuitively it supports a relatively non-technical user to produce agenda, complete minutes and process all committee requirements. When I've needed to reach out for help, support at BoardPro has been almost immediate and very effective with useful step-by-step instructions to complete the task at hand. Cons I don't think there is anything I don't like, I've now used BoardPro for two totally different organisations and it is awesome, despite their differences. The minute taking process is also very good, easy to produce and then easy to confirm in the next meeting pack. Pros Easy to use, easy to load up papers and share information with Board members. Well structured to identify decisions, noting, etc and easy to attach papers. Cons Having to move between agenda and board pack in the checking phase. When I've finished a draft version of the pack being able to download and review the entire pack is not entirely intuitive. Cons The search function is generally good - it searches within document titles for the whole site, or for keywords within a particular board pack. However I would also love the master search function to search for keywords within documents. The automated reminders and action-item tracking ensure nothing ever slips through the cracks. Pros BoardPro is easy to use on a centralised platform and is paperless. It sets agendas, creates board packs, votes, takes minutes in real time, assigns & sends reminders of actions, and stores files. People who are assigned to an action can update their action as they progress before the meeting. March 11, 2026 5.0 I'm now using BoardPro with two of the boards I'm involved with - both are NFPs and BoardPro has been a game changer for both. One is an older more established charity; the other more in a start up phase and BoardPro has served both organisations really well. My experience has been so good, I'm trying to get a third onto the platform. Fingers crossed! I've used two other platforms and BoardPro is definitely my preference. Pros Meeting management and sharing of documents is simple. It's super easy to use - even for novices. My colleagues think similarly and it seems to find a fit even cross very diverse organisations at different maturity stages. Truly intuitive. Cons The only Con that I can think of is that there is no Built-In Chat Feature The platform lacks a chat functionality, which means board correspondence cannot be centralised within the tool. The search function is also extremely helpful to see historical records. Cons We have had some anecdotal issues for our trustees that belong to several trusts and struggling to log in to the right company. We are a small not-for-profit whose committee unfortunately tends to have people elected to it from an AGM who don't understand governance and who too easily delve into trivia wasting a lot of time. BoardPro assists greatly in structuring agendas which helps the chair keep people on message. Pros It's simplicity and well structured layout. The generation of documents such as agendas and minutes are just a matter of adding text where needed, the layout template works well. The automatic cross referencing of 'decisions' 'action' & 'notes' makes it easy to do follow ups and have them stored in the appropriate places. We now have our meeting documentation on a screen, no need to print out screeds of paper to take to the meeting. The ability to search on a topic to see previous occurrences of an issue. Cons It's not a matter of not liking something but there are some areas where I would like to see improvements. We use 'Documents' as an archiving or filing system for our key documents, but if you want to edit a document you have to download it back to say word and then upload it again when done. Would be nice to be able to edit a document inside BoardPro. Meeting attendees at say an AGM can't be listed easily, there can be dozens at an AGM. This could be a category labeled 'member' or something similar, with no access rights but can be listed as attendees. You can't go straight to 'documents' upon opening BoardPro, you need to open a meeting first. May have this wrong, but we have a committee chair, but he doesn't always chair the meeting. Can't see how who chaired the meeting can be noted. We usually note this in the Introduction section. Review Source MR Marianne R. It certainly beats a word doc that is cumbersome and huge to manage. Pros The automatic restructuring of the board pack when changes and the order of things when they are changed. Cons The inability to "unpublish" the board pack. The constant messages or emails that Board Members get with the slightest changes. Appreciated that heaps. Pros So easy to do minutes live and then edit later. So easy to track everything even if board doesnt use it fully. Easy to centralise communications. Minutes look really nicely laid out. Board pack is excellent - wasn't sure if it had contents, love that it did. Cons When I use a set template to create an agenda, I can't edit parts of that template that don't work for me. I have to delete the whole thing and start again building my own. I have found it easy to earn and it considerably reduces the time it takes me to put together the agenda and to record meeting minutes and actions. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to simplify their meeting records and maintain consistency. Pros I love how easy it is to plan meetings and record minutes. I also love how BoardPro records who is responsible for actions, then emails them reminders about completing these actions. The layout is easy to edit to suit our needs and easy for the team to read. Cons We are a charity and get the nonprofit rate. It is still of largest subscription expense so it would be nice if the discount was greater. Pros The time savings from start to finish. Setting up BoardPro is user friendly and simple. The setting of the agenda is simple. Allocating who is talking to the item is simple. Board Members can look back on previous hui's and docs at their leisure. The task allocations during the hui is amazing along with the follow up reminders. The minutes are taken during the hui which saves a lot of time. The approval of the minutes are seamless. The cost of the app plays for itself with the time savings and accuracy of the minutes.
