Pros It is efficient and ensure all members to a meeting are informed on changes in the agenda and the meeting pack by a simple click of the publish button. Cons There is nothing that I don't like. The platform is great. Maybe you can add a video conferencing software like MS Teams to be able to join remotely or record a meeting. Review Source TH Trevor H. We are a small not-for-profit whose committee unfortunately tends to have people elected to it from an AGM who don't understand governance and who too easily delve into trivia wasting a lot of time. BoardPro assists greatly in structuring agendas which helps the chair keep people on message. Pros It's simplicity and well structured layout. The generation of documents such as agendas and minutes are just a matter of adding text where needed, the layout template works well. The automatic cross referencing of 'decisions' 'action' & 'notes' makes it easy to do follow ups and have them stored in the appropriate places. We now have our meeting documentation on a screen, no need to print out screeds of paper to take to the meeting. The ability to search on a topic to see previous occurrences of an issue. Cons It's not a matter of not liking something but there are some areas where I would like to see improvements. We use 'Documents' as an archiving or filing system for our key documents, but if you want to edit a document you have to download it back to say word and then upload it again when done. Would be nice to be able to edit a document inside BoardPro. Meeting attendees at say an AGM can't be listed easily, there can be dozens at an AGM. This could be a category labeled 'member' or something similar, with no access rights but can be listed as attendees. You can't go straight to 'documents' upon opening BoardPro, you need to open a meeting first. May have this wrong, but we have a committee chair, but he doesn't always chair the meeting. Can't see how who chaired the meeting can be noted. We usually note this in the Introduction section. Review Source SW Samantha W. A good structure helps to minimise duplication of papers and documents. Pros Helpful to have all boards in one portal. When in the board meeting they are able to access the meeting and documents on their laptops, and follow the discussion in real-time. It allows for deeper board engagement, their eyes are no longer glossing over from an abundance of paper packets and content. Pros Ability to organize board meetings with supporting documents for each committee's report. Cons Would like to be able to create a MASTER board meeting or committees' meeting, and then enter a recurring date range, or enter custom dates and have the software duplicate and repeat for the entire calendar year. It is so easy to use, streamlined, and a huge time-saver. I honestly wish we had started years ago. Totally recommend it! Pros 1\. So easy to use! The interface is intuitive and user-friendly, which made it simple for us to get started without a steep learning curve. 2. Built-in reminders ensure nothing gets missed, helping me stay organised and on track. 3. Post-meeting follow-ups are straightforward, with clear options for assigning tasks and tracking progress. Cons The only Con that I can think of is that there is no Built-In Chat Feature The platform lacks a chat functionality, which means board correspondence cannot be centralised within the tool. Pros The time savings from start to finish. Setting up BoardPro is user friendly and simple. The setting of the agenda is simple. Allocating who is talking to the item is simple. Board Members can look back on previous hui's and docs at their leisure. The task allocations during the hui is amazing along with the follow up reminders. The minutes are taken during the hui which saves a lot of time. The approval of the minutes are seamless. The cost of the app plays for itself with the time savings and accuracy of the minutes. Cons I haven't found anything that I don't like about BoardPro at this stage of our journey. The ability to circulate reports and make decisions outside of scheduled board meetings leads to timely decision making and greater knowledge shared between operations and board level. The search function is also extremely helpful to see historical records. Cons We have had some anecdotal issues for our trustees that belong to several trusts and struggling to log in to the right company. December 10, 2024 5.0 Efficiency plus - As President and a board member I am informed and able to get my reports and photographs added through our GM. It makes for a very efficient well-informed Board meeting, and it cuts out endless sheets of paper copies to wade through that had to be sent out well before the meeting. It is simply awesome!!! Pros The Board pro is excellent for our Board - we are an amateur New Zealand Heartland Rugby Union. The system allows us to easily connect all reports/photographs and deliver them easily before the meeting to all members to read. The system ensures that we have a swift but informed meeting every time. It is incredibly user friendly and very efficient. It allows us to be organized and systematic - ensures we stick to the meeting agenda as it is all set out for us to consider systematically. Cons With Boardpro being technical platform, not everyone has the same level of technical expertise and so access has sometimes been challenging. The ease of setup and the user-friendly nature make it a good product. However, I would like to see some enhancements, such as the ability to write and change reports attached to agendas without having to reload them. Pros Ease of use, clean dashboard, offers of mini training sessions, ease of customer service Cons The inability to amend Word documents, like in Sharepoint, and having to reload changed versions. This is something Harbour Software, with their DocAssembler product, offers. Also, I would like to use it more widely, but the cost of each separate committee is prohibitive for a not-for-profit. I have found it easy to earn and it considerably reduces the time it takes me to put together the agenda and to record meeting minutes and actions. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to simplify their meeting records and maintain consistency. Pros I love how easy it is to plan meetings and record minutes. I also love how BoardPro records who is responsible for actions, then emails them reminders about completing these actions. The layout is easy to edit to suit our needs and easy for the team to read. Cons We are a charity and get the nonprofit rate. It is still of largest subscription expense so it would be nice if the discount was greater. Suggestions I have made are well received by help and support. Pros It is very easy to use and makes the admin part of board hui very easy. Love the reduction in manual formatting mahi when doing manual board packs. Also the auto reminders and reduction in emails required to follow up as it is automated. Cons One thing that comes to mind is the inability to take minutes inside the action point section. We quite often spend a bit of time discussing actions and I have to go in and out to find a place to make those notes i.e. general business. I’m secretary of the board and it makes my life so much easier (and board members love it) Pros The cloud capabilities to work on agendas and minutes from any device at any time. Also the ease of scheduling next meetings and connecting to each other Cons Cloning agendas is a great feature but would be nice if I could see the status and notes of cloned items so I don’t have to open another screen to compare prior results. Also it’s frustrating I cannot switch an agenda item from discussion-type to voting-type. The training Boardpro provide too is relevant, excellent very skilled and knowable presenters, that i can relate to, even though i am NFP organization. I also appreciate their proactive customer support. Cons scheduling can be a little confusing and buggy with different calendars (google, outlook, ical etc) but it isn't a major. Pros I am a Boardpro administrator and I find it very easy to load papers into the platform and organise them in a format specific to our companies and the type of meeting we are having, whether it be a board, strategy, or review meeting. I have used other platforms and this is by far the easiest and most efficient to use. Cons The approval process for a decision seems to be a bit repetitive, entering in what we are approving a couple of times. Also it would be great if there was a button to indicate of the decision was approved unanimously or by majority vote. Pros This is a fully automated system that saves time and costs in preparing, running and following up on Board Meetings Cons There can be some duplication with reminders, which tend to be repetitive.
