### "Customer Support No Longer Tries"

Pros

There are currently no pros to using Plivo as their customer support is incapable of supporting their product at even the most basic levels.

Cons

I've been a Plivo customer since 2014 with two other companies. I tried to sign up for a new account and my mobile number was already associated with one of my old accounts at a previous company. No problem, I just need them to delete my number from my old account so I can sign up for a new account. It's been TWO WEEKS of asking support for help on this and it's always "what was your old account?" followed by "we're looking into it" followed by silence. Their support team no longer seems to have the capacity (or maybe they just don't care) to help customers new or old. I strongly suggest everyone avoid Plivo until they can figure out how to provide even basic support to their customers.

### "Empowering with Plivo's Advanced Communication Features"

Pros

Plivo provides APIs and SDKs for various programming languages, making it easy to integrate communication functionality into my web applications. and allows me to scale communication services as my business grows, without having to worry about infrastructure and maintenance.

Cons

voice call forwarding, it does not provide advanced call center functionality, such as IVR or call routing, making it unsuitable for businesses that require these services.

### "Disappointing. Better to stay with Twilio."

My experience with Plivo has been extremely disappointing. As the owner of a tech company, I relied on Plivo's services for a significant part of my business operations. Unfortunately, our account was suspended without clear explanations, even though we had been completely transparent about our usage from the start.During this issue, I found their customer service to be lacking. Our requests for clarity and temporary access to resolve ongoing disruptions were met with delayed and unsatisfactory responses. This has caused considerable inconvenience to us and our clients.If you're considering a cloud communication platform, I would recommend looking at alternatives like Twilio. Twilio offers not only a robust network, but they also have a clear policy and a more helpful and responsive support team.In conclusion, it's critical to have a reliable service provider for your business. Regrettably, Plivo failed to meet this standard in my experience. Your business deserves better. Choose wisely.

Pros

The initial attraction to Plivo was the cost-effectiveness and simplicity of their interface. Their services were supposed to make our operations more efficient, but almost created a damage. We went back to Twilio.

Cons

The reliability of Plivo's services and their customer support were significant drawbacks. We experienced an unexpected account suspension, without any clear explanation. Our attempts to resolve the issue with their support team were met with delayed responses and a lack of helpfulness. It disrupted our operations and impacted our clients negatively. We were fully transparent about our usage, and yet, this issue arose, making Plivo no reliable choice for our business needs.

### "Jeopardized our customer experience with false advertising"

Very disappointing - extremely. After reaching out to them multiple times and asking to speak to someone over the phone we found ourselves unheard and our customers Ireland and Australia stranded - our text notification feature was not working. We had to scramble over the course of 2-3 days once we realized Plivo was ignoring us - we switched to Twilio. Incredible support (chat, email, phone) and a much more robust platform - well worth the extra cost. I am so utterly disappointed from Plivo.

Pros

We initially liked their pricing (most appealing) and then once we logged in we found that they had a very nice layout!

Cons

The customer service was and is very bad. I've never written a review like this but I had to after experiencing it for myself - I'd rather have other companies/users be warned. There is no way to contact Plivo other than opening up a ticket - no phone number and no chat. We stopped receiving responses on our tickets that have been open for more than a week after 2 canned responses were sent in response to our question/issue. They just simply stopped responding (we've reached out and followed up many times). The reason we were contacting support is because their phone numbers for Ireland and Australia- despite it being clear throughout their website that they support those countries. We offer text message capabilities for free to our customers and our switch from 1 provider to them caused an outage for our Ireland and Australian customers. This sort of false advertising and customer service is completely unacceptable and I felt like others need to be aware.

Reason for choosing Plivo

Their pricing was more appealing.

### "Nailed the basics and are starting to emerge into awesome."

We communicate on regular intervals and one off texting communications. i.e. reminders about things at recurring times or this event happened so send the text. They're platform hasn't ever given us problems. Highly recommended.

Pros

Honestly the cost! They beat everyone else (for most counties). Their documentation is pretty good for the most part, and they've done a great job staying up-to-date with their SDKs and optimizations.

Cons

Lacking MMS has bitten me several times and I've had to look elsewhere for those projects. Otherwise they've been sufficient. Syntax for sending multiple messages at once is a unique one, but manageable.

Plivo has been a good solution for our SMS messaging needs and coupled with good customer support I can't complaint at all. I hope they continue giving as much personal attention to all their customers as they have been giving even when they grow.

Pros

Easy setup Neat API doc Good logs are always welcome You can export reports and stats really intuitively You can easily discover the reason of failure or any other problems which are hampering the overall functioning

Cons

The service especially for SMS delivery can be a bit iffy at times, happened maybe once or twice only over a period of 2 years.

### "Great product but poor customer support"

Plivo and the ability to send out SMS messages has played a big role in our product. We are thinking of integrating the Plivo's SMS into many other verticals we have. Being able to send out bulk SMS is critical for our business but it's not been working.

Pros

Easy to implement, we have been using the SMS feature since many years now. Works well for sending out a single SMS, customization of message and exceptional pricing.

Cons

Bulk SMS doesn't work right now and our customers are not happy. Trying to contact Plivo but the only means of contact is through a ticket. No phone or email to contact and we are at their mercy even after raising a critical outage ticket and not receiving any response. Overall, the customer support is really a grey area.

We are providing customers with custom IVR's and outbound test/calls. Plivo is able to give us the basics of what we provide for our customers and has been improving their downtime.

Pros

\- Plivo is fairly inexpensive compared to some of its competitors - Plivo is constantly growing and seeking to improve

Cons

\- The turnaround time for a support ticket takes too long - Most of the employees are overseas and have a hard time communicating during normal business hours (PST)

1\. We pay about 50% less for the SMS provider services 2. With free inbound SMS we were able to automate our SMS surveys 3. Faster development and debugging with clear API and helper libraries

Pros

We used Plivo for an online SMS chat. 1. Good performance. We've only seen downtime happen once, and we barely noticed it: a few text messages got delayed for about 10 seconds, and that was about it. 2. Low prices. We started with Plivo and a few other, more expensive, SMS providers. No difference in performance at all. Bottom line: low cost doesn't mean bad service. 3. Wide selection of phone numbers. Sometimes people want a specific combination of digits in their phone number (for example, when they want to spell a word). You can use regex in Plivo's phone number search, which make it faster, and in most cases we do find a phone number our client is likes. 4. Easy to use API. It took us a total of 2 hours to fully integrate Plivo into our application. From scratch. And, like any startup, we add new features all the time. Documentation is well-written, error codes make sense, delivery reports help debugging.

Cons

They blocked our account once - we were running a test script that was sending about 50 000 requests/hour. Never happened again since they called us, and verified the account.

Pros

With extensive SDK's available in a variety of languages, this is definitely one of the most flexible products available today for virtual phone service. Customer service is very responsive and professional.

Cons

Virtual numbers in Belgium present a few quirks such as not showing the caller id on SMS text messages, but this is a minor issue.

My overall experience with Plivo is great. The only issue I had was there is somewhat of a language barrier in technical support. It should be noted this seemed to improve over time so I'm not sure if they added new people or the existing staff just got better at communicating.

Pros

I can't speak alot about the API itself. The client wanted to generate the Raw XML and this limited our ability to fully utilize all of Plivo's capabilities. However, within the scope of our project we found the Plivo system easy and reliable. The documentation was accurate and it was nice to see it in several different language contexts. We had no problem with lag or failed requests during our testing period. As I understand it, the production environment is running very smoothly.

Cons

I have no complaints about the Plivo software.

### "Great API and quick customer support, easy to use and build"

We are building our own little call center where the end user would call us on a 1x800 number and the call would be then placed on hold until one of the Agents can pick it up sitting on a web portal (SIP endpoint). We have used PLIVO's restful APIs and love the user friendly documentation and the quick customer support that is provided. Recently we have started using PHLO which is a drag and drop sort of stuff to get your things done really quickly with less amount of code to write. This is a hot cake and I would assume would be feature loaded in near future. And all that for a very affordable amount of money. How good is that?

Pros

Great and user friendly API documentation Very quick customer support Value for money And last but not the least PHLO

Cons

I can't think of much but I would assume more features would be added in the near future.

Pleasure and to use and easy to use.

Pros

Great software and easy to use. Using PHLO its possible to build an enterprise IVR system with logic and no programming skill. This saved me some time.

Cons

Nothing. But would be very useful to add time constraint object to PHLO to give a little more flexibility and control to IVR systems.

Pros

So easy to use with our Jackrabbit class program and so inexpensive! Reply from customer comes up in our emails, you don't have to go looking for the responses.

Cons

I wish when the customer replied I wouldn't have to go back into my jackrabbit program to reply to them.

At the time was the only one available to us, but I love it!

As a backup server, that we use rarely l, it's more than adequate and fine!

Pros

We use Plivo as our backup server. It performs that particular duty admirably.

Cons

This might be a feature that IT could disable, but when the call center switches to Plivo, calls have random, unexplained beeps on them. As one of key metrics is tracking the voicemail disposition l, that creates havoc for us, as it confuses our reps, and causes them to incorrectly disposition calls. It's also difficult to monitor calls for the same reason. But it's our backup server, so its not something we deal with often.

Easy to integrate APIs for sending users messages on you platform. Just add the money in your account, and, u are ready to send messages using the developer APIs made available by Plivo.

Cons

I contacted this team back in early 2021 to speak with sales about signing up and to understand more about 10DLC at the time and how they were going to handle it. I also contacted them again in late 2022 when they mentioned they would freeze my account for non-use (what company wants to use a service who has no team behind it?). In both cases I was ignored. I would urge everyone to do some resiliency testing on their support, I don't think they can support any size business at this point until they get enough people to actually respond to emails. I can't imagine what it would be like if there was an outage and you wanted to contact someone while you losing millions per minute.

Pros

Easy to setup without input from the support team. When I did require assistance, response was fast & pointed me quickly in the right direction. Billing is automated too.

Cons

Doesn't have volume based reporting - need to export everything to Excel and run it from there.

Buying numbers and managing 1-1 end user conversations for our clients. It has been simple, reliable, and effective.

Pros

The reality is that it's the Twilio alternative. But because it's cheaper, we do most of our flow through Plivo. So what I like most is that their API matched Twilio's exactly. This made switching and saving money a breeze.

Cons

The dashboard is slightly oversimplified. It's cut down to the bare bones which has benefits, but some views that I find useful are not present.

We use this as the SMS sending service for our online platform. The API is easy to set up and use, and the prices are very competitive.

Pros

Plivo does everything we need from an SMS API service. Given their prices are so low, we are very satisfied with this service.

Cons

Their user-interface isn't as clear as other services. There's a bit of a learning curve involved. For example, there's a "PHLO" tab, that invites users to create a new "PHLO". I have no idea what a "PHLO" is.
