### "Simple to use but with all the features you need"

February 19, 2026

5.0

Pros

Drip is simple to use and billing makes sense and is reasonable. You can do almost all the things that the bigger CRMs do without all the bloated extras that cost money. It's easy to load up and send an email quickly and tagging and automations are simple to set up.

Cons

There's not too much I don't like about Drip which is why I've used it consistently for my marketing business despite competitors getting trendy over time.

### "Drip: Moving our Email Strategy"

November 12, 2024

4.0

Our email marketing is completely transformed through our work with Drip. Specifically, our team loves the automatic lead scoring system, which allows us to sort through the high volume of leads quite easily and determine high potential prospects right away. Since we are using it as part of our marketing stack, its reliability and steady execution make it quite invaluable.

Pros

The distinctive features of Drip is its visual workflow builder and its long name, but the fact is that Drip has an intuitive interface for its visual workflow builder that lets our marketing team create complicated automation sequences without code. Since the implementation of this granular targeting, our email open rates have improved 35%.

Cons

We think the reporting dashboard is missing a bit more flexibility in visualization of metrics. The A/B testing currently doesn't let you test multiple email subject lines simultaneously. Especially, workflow management is particularly limited on the mobile app compared to the desktop version.

Switched from

[Mailchimp](https://www.capterra.com/p/110228/MailChimp/)

The first one was Mailchimp, by the way, which was great for the small amount of subscribers we used to have, but we eventually outgrew them. Mailchimp's automation capabilities were only limited and lacked basic segmentation capabilities.

### "Drip works for companies just starting out but not a keeper if you want to scale."

June 1, 2025

3.0

I did love it until I discovered the problem described above and then eventually left having to stack all of my tech for an all in one CRM. I do with I could have kept it as it is much lower cost and the email functions much better than what I migrated to, but now I'm stuck...can't go back.

Pros

It was easily integrated with Thrivecart and recommended by that CRM as a preferred email delivery service. It was easy to set up and has great templates and builder.

Cons

Whan searching for a client, you could not search by name! How ridiculous is that. You can only searcn via their email address. This is actually why I left Drip, for this one reason alone. At first I though it was a component I just couldn't figure out then after working with their support team, accessible via email only, another issue, they confirmed that at this time this was the case.

### "So many possibilities with Shopify"

July 29, 2019

5.0

Drip solved problems we didn't even know we had. For example, we are able to automate a lot of our social and email marketing through Drip before a team member takes leave of absence so things aren't going to hurt as bad for the team as a result. We could not do that previously and would have had to leave money on the table while they were gone (we are a small company.) Currently we have really just focused on our brick and mortar business with Drip but I anticipate when we ramp it up for our ecomm store we will see some really interesting results there too. Our overall experience has been very positive.

Pros

If you sell a lot of different types of products and customers, Drip's ability to help you segment people automatically is amazing. We switched from MailChimp to Drip when Shopify broke and MC broke up but we also needed something more robust for our click and brick as our ecomm started to take off. I love that you can trigger events based on actions like when a subscriber clicks on a certain page on your website and the Facebook custom audience integration is very useful and has upped our targeting strategy on social too. Looking back on what we were doing with MailChimp vs. Drip, I kind of just laugh. They're hard to even compare. This is a full blown marketing and CRM suite and Mailchimp just sends emails. I still feel like I have more I can learn and do with Drip which is exciting. Support is very helpful and quick.

Cons

The email builder is improving but needs work still-you need to really inbox test because it will not save you from yourself. Images are skewed in some email clients if you check the "constrain image" box for example, so don't check that box! There are some other weird bugs in it but they just came out with a new version which is for sure an improvement. You can now select your products from your Shopify store which is HUGE but I would love more flexibility on integrating products and collections dynamically. The alt text doesn't work in the builder which seems weird to me and I don't have a big enough team to hand code the amount of eblasts we send. I want to add I don't think this is for the casual marketer. In other words, you could get overwhelmed very easily by the bells and whistles so while this is awesome for marketing automation geeks, I would make sure it isn't too complicated for your business goals.

Alternatives considered

[Klaviyo](https://www.capterra.com/p/156699/Klaviyo/)

Reason for choosing Drip

We looked at Klaviyo which I really liked but ultimately it was a lot more money and lacked some of the cool event triggers and automation functionality for campaigns and segmentation that Drip provided. I did like Kalviyo's Shopify integration options for building emails slightly better but not for the extra money and loss of other features that Drip had. It was kind of a tough decision actually!

Switched from

[Mailchimp](https://www.capterra.com/p/110228/MailChimp/)

Shopify and Mailchimp ended their integration and I used that as a good time to make the switch to something more robust - which I was planning to do this year anyway. We basically outgrew Mailchimp's functionality and while I also respect Mailchimp's decision to protect people's privacy (in a nutshell, why they broke up with Shopify), we as marketers need that data if our competitors have it. We needed the targeting and data of something like Drip.

### "Great UI but lacks some advanced features"

Pros

### "A good ecommerce email system, but not without some flaws"

August 23, 2020

4.0

Drip was not an easy switch from MailChimp. I will probably go back to MailChimp pretty soon.

Pros

Drip is a good ecommerce email system, particularly for Magento. It's relatively easy to set up automations and manage ecommerce contacts, purchases, and other data. It's similar to other email platforms in terms of set up, templates, and flexibility.

Cons

The demo made it seem like the integration with Magento was the easiest thing in the world, but there were several hiccups at launch. The reporting leaves a lot to be desired, and the automations don't work as seamlessly as I'd like.

Reason for choosing Drip

The demo was really good.

### "The best email and marketing automation software EXCEPT…."

May 5, 2021

5.0

It really is an outstanding piece of software at a great price with a super power none other (that I know of) offer and that is the ability to run multiple domains as separate entities.

Pros

It is one of the easiest pieces of software to work with. I have always enjoyed setting up automations and it is very clear how to do things. I don’t like getting bogged down with technicalities and this lets you create.

Cons

This ONE con is why I have pivoted to another software. There are less integrations with the program. The big ones are there, ClickFunnels, Google, Microsoft, but too often I found other programs I wanted to integrate and Drip was not a default integration. Really not their fault but it is enough of an issue for me.

### "Drip is the bees knees for Email Marketing "

April 24, 2019

5.0

We have had an amazing experience with Drip and Email Automation. It has taken us far beyond what we thought we could do in just a short amount of time. Highly recommend Drip!

Pros

Drip took us to the next level with Email Marketing. We have been able to create funnels, campaigns, email series, and blasts that have boosted our business. We had just barely dipped our toe in Email Marketing 2 years ago when we started with Drip, and now we use it on a daily basis. We have been able to automate an almost entirely manual process. Highly recommend Drip as an easy to learn and awesome tool to grow your business.

Cons

Learning to set up funnels is not the easiest process at first. Especially if you are new to Email Marketing, however, Drips support team and chat is so easy to use and they will walk you through every step. They also offer video training and training webinars.

### "Elevate Your Engagement Through Automated Emails with Drip"

January 14, 2023

5.0

Drip email marketing is a great way for businesses to maintain relationships with their customers. Drip campaigns are automated emails that are sent to customers over a period of time. The goal of drip email campaigns is to provide customers with valuable content that will help build trust and loyalty in the business in a fast and easy way.

Pros

There are some key qualities that make them stand out from the competition: workflows, rules, and campaigns. Workflows allow marketers to set up automated sequences of emails that are sent when triggered by an event or user action. This helps ensure that customers receive targeted messages at the right times, driving engagement and sales. With easy-to-use visual workflow builders, it’s simple to get started with creating powerful automation sequences in no time. Rules provide businesses with greater control over how they interact with their customers. They can be used to trigger events based on customer behavior such as abandoning a cart or signing up for a newsletter subscription. Campaigns are beneficial because they can be personalized, allowing businesses to tailor emails to best fit the needs of their customer segment. They also enable businesses to nurture leads by sending out timely and relevant emails, allowing them to convert more leads into sales.

Cons

Despite its widespread appeal, it isn’t designed for everyone. Instead, Drip has a steep learning curve and is tailored toward an expert audience.

### "A day to learn. A lifetime to master."

October 28, 2018

5.0

Overall, the whole thing has been great: cost, customer support, and the general system.

Pros

I love that Drip is simple enough for someone with no marketing automation experience to pick up and use pretty easily. But that, once that initial hurdle is conquered, there are incredibly advanced features, as well. I have barely scratched the surface of what it can do, but I know that it'll be quite a long time until I figure it out all. However, along the way, I'll have exactly what I need to do the basics, and don't need to hire someone to do it for me.

Cons

The analytics take a bit to dig into, sometimes. They're on so many screens, so it's hard to decipher some of the more insightful information. Also, the workflows aren't always the most intuitive things, but simple tutorials are helping with that. It's better than most other systems.

Overall I am super happy with Drip and would recommend it to others, even those who are NOT tech savvy!

Pros

Cons

It takes a while to learn how to use all the features, specifically the rules, workflows, tags and custom fields. However, once you learn the basics, it's simple to maintain.

February 14, 2019

3.0

We have used the Drip service for approximately 3 years. From one day to the next they have increased (too much) the prices without respecting the original price. This company is not recommended.

Pros

Cons

### "Full-featured product with excellent customer support"

October 30, 2018

5.0

I tried Drip as a way to launch an onboarding campaign for new customers for a software as a service product that I manage. It took me about an hour to get a feel for how to use the app and configure the various settings, but all the config was straightforward and I remember the help text being well-placed and well-written. I thought the documentation and tutorials I found usually answered my questions, and when I contacted support I had an excellent and helpful interaction with the support team via email.

Pros

I think what I enjoyed most about Drip was that any time I had an idea of what I'd like to \*try\* to do with the product, I was able to do it. I also didn't have to involve our developer in order to implement the Drip snippet or to import my subscribers. The workflows and automation tools worked really well (too well, actually, as I accidentally imported way too many old customers and ended up paying too much, but that mistake was easy to correct later). The emails looked slick and I loved the reporting features.

Cons

I started using Drip around the same time they were rolling out a redesigned interface for creating messages, and the software seemed to have trouble remembering which interface I had chosen. This was a little while ago so I don't recall which design I preferred, but it was a little confusing to switch back and forth between the two input options. I'm sure all of that has been resolved by now though.

With the use of Drip I have been able to create targeted marketing campaigns with smart features. This has helped me a lot in my daily work.

Pros

The most positive aspect is that the free plan offers comprehensive functions for companies with 100 subscribers, the creator of visual workflow is very intuitive and easy to handle, also has new integration with Facebook Custom Audiences.

Cons

### "WOW! So far it's amazing!"

May 8, 2018

5.0

Replacing MailChimp, Emma, and hopefully SalesForce IQ but that remains to be seen. It will also save us money and give us more data. Did I say it supports Tagging!

Pros

Super easy to use, small learning curve even for the novice, great knowledge base. The company I work for decided to use this software and I was importing and adding our lists the same day. So much easier to use and more features than MailChimp. It goes way beyond a simple email platform. It's interface is super clean. It replaces many of our Zaps because it directly integrates with Drift. You can copy & paste your email templates from MailChimp or Emma too for easy migration. It supports tags. And I think best of all - all your contacts are in ONE list. Hard to imagine I know but once you wrap your head around it, it's fabulous.

Cons

So far, nothing! I've only used it for 3 weeks. I also haven't had to use Customer Support for anything yet so I can't comment on that.

### "Good for our targeted email cadences"

October 22, 2018

5.0

Drip helps me to send targeted email cadences to our prospects and customers and measure if they are ready to buy/engaged with our product/content. For us as a rather small company with a limited number of subscribers Drip is a solid solution for our email marketing needs.

Pros

I like the workflow and rules capability. Also the unlimited tags and the easy integration with Salesforce and Zapier is important for me. Support is usually fast, friendly and competent.

Cons

Sometimes, the app could be faster. Also, there is not a preview function for one-off emails. Sometimes, it takes too long until an immediate broadcast is sent out.
