" March 17, 2020 1.0 Pros No idea - it has basically functionality Cons They have a subscription model so that you are basically locked in for next year. You sign up. Then Coronavirus hits - you'd think a company founded to support self-employed people would be there in their time of need. But no, they increase their price by 53%! Our help centre (https://support.gosimpletax.com/portal/kb/gosimpletax/general) also provides information on how users can unsubscribe without the need to contact us. Unfortunately we have had to increase prices at this difficult time, a decision taken prior to the Coronavirus outbreak, and not taken easily. This is not to profiteer but to make the business sustainable, allowing us to keep the product current/compliant, invest in new features to make it better and continue providing a high level of UK based support. Frequent outages and malfunctions. Customer service will make you want to cry or worse - you get the distinct feeling that "we don't give a care" is the company's moto. However I thought I'd give this a go. The most time consuming part is getting together the required info, but I would have had to do this for the Tax Advisor anyway! the software is intuitive and I found the whole process refreshingly simple. It also saves money on accountancy Pros You can use as many or as few of the features as you need for your purposes, and it is easy to adapt them to your own way of recording information ('clients' can become projects, for instance, so you can effectively create cost centres) Cons It would be great if you could automatically feed information through from income to expenditure rather than input everything twice to create new (clients/suppliers/projects) - sometimes you want to track income and expenditure for the same things Review Source jF james F. Pros The support team are very knowledgeable & respond with a few hours of a query, not just on how to use the software but on some items regarding what HMRC expect to receive. Cons When completed the downloaded return didn't show that the attachment I submitted had been included. Also, although I entered my country as Spain this didn't show up on the downloaded return. It's changed the pain of my annual tax return to feel more organized and planned. Pros The software is user-friendly, intuitive and has helped me to be more organized when it comes to my company finances. It produces really good reports, such as P&L and Balance sheet. It has a full audit trail. The ETB for accountants is excellent. Pros It is easy to use for customers and the price is fantastic value. The support is excellent. The fact that we, as accountants can log on and use all facilities is very useful. Cons It has a few quirks, but it seems the new version will iron these out. I searched online and found GoSimpleTax which did the job for a reasonable price. Pros Simple to use. Simple to use. Simple to use. Cons I couldn't submit my return due to an undefined error that suggested the problem was with HMRC. I raised this with support and they spotted an error I had made due to the software requiring an NIC number for a limited company partner.
