" January 27, 2020 3.0 The reality is that I still need to do a lot of the work compiling expenses outside of the app, and therefore - apart from the ability to complete a tax return on a computer, lots of the functions open to a self employed person do not help me as a Minister of Religion. Pros Ability to automatically fill in tax return. Self checking so it is easier not to make mistakes. Cons The receipt capture feature is good, but does not work when receipts are for Minister of Religion allowable expenses. GoSimpleTax made the figures very easy to calculate. I had quite a few problems with my UTR and the customer service team were amazing and very patient with me. All the figures on the system were saved and ready to go so when my new UTR was activated with HMRC , it only took minutes to complete my return. Thank you GoSimpleTax! Pros The team have been amazing at problem solving for me. It wasn't clear whether I should include my clergy stipend on an employment sheet or on the minister of religion form. Some fuller explanations on the different applications would be useful, and a quicker response time when making queries would be advantageous. It is logically presented. Pros The page gives you every facility of moving around the whole programme. If there is a problem with the page you are on down the right hand side there are easily understood directions of how to use that particular page. The user interface is very friendly and gives you all the information in a way that's easy to understand. It also gives you hints when you may have missed something. Completed a tax return with all details in less than an hour and this was my first time. This saved me the accountant's fees. Cons Some of help comments can be made easier to understand. October 12, 2018 5.0 I had a few glitches to begin with, but that was because I was in too big a hurry. I failed to pick up the 'transfer of allowance' bit, and I really think the package should be remodelled to have a note about that, before you go to the 'Validate my Return' bit. I think the Validate Return should perhaps have a note saying that after you enter this section you will still have an opportunity to make changes. Pros It is just so easy to use. Takes all the hassle out of filling in a form and doing calculations etc. Once you get familiar with it, it is just SIMPLE. Cons The fear about pressing Validate Return! Review Source AT Alan T.
