Pros

  • Really like Ubeya, the support team are friendly and helpful. Its great to have a better overview of everything that is happening.

  • I like the fact that I also have my admin app. As an event manager you can't always open your computer, so an app is a great solution.I got great feedback from my employees about their app.

  • Overall, we are pleased with how simply it has made staffing for our business. We are excited to continue helping to refine the app.

  • The ease of use, thus, the amount of time it saved me. Really has been such a blessing not just for me as the Booker, but to our staff.

Cons

  • Lack of payroll services - We currently have to use an additional piece of software to execute payroll. If this could be incorporated into Ubeya we would utilise the service.

  • Sometimes they will roll out a change without consultation and it will interrupt our processes.

  • UI for staff is a bit confusing (i.e. clocking out for break vs out of the shift). The messaging feature is still not refined so we have to use another program for the time being.

  • Can’t create multi-day events without creating a new shift per day. My bookings are for full weekend availability so I don’t even need the shift feature -biggest complaint with the software for me ).

"Fantastic for Staffing & Recordkeeping"

Overall: Highly recommend it for a business where you need consistent event/program staffing. Very easy to have new individuals sign up and join your group, as well. No jumping through any hoops.

Pros: Ease of use- simple for both the company and the user. We have the ability to enter ALL necessary information regarding an event, and no longer have to continuously chase after people who want to work with us. Very practical when we are looking for extra help.

Cons: The color scheme can get a bit confusing, lots of different colors for different reasons (not enough staff requested, etc.). Also, the date layout starts on Monday rather than Sunday, so it gets confusing when using other programs with a calendar. I've tended to put an event on the wrong day by accident.

"dineDK Private Dining"

Overall: We have had a positive experience with Ubeya and the team over the years. Its a great product that just needs a bit of refining in areas to be perfect.

Pros: Ease of scheduling and communication with our contractors. Organizing payroll by event.

Cons: the small fields for notes on each shift. The inability to create fields on shifts that are functional prior to the close of the event. The lack of integration access from Zapier - would like to be able to see the fields within events and shifts so we can automate budgets and pay better for our management roles.

Switched From: Nowsta
Reasons for Switching to Ubeya: at the time they lacked interval comms features and the system was very rigid and didn't support our unique workflow.

"Event operation revieww"

Overall: I like the platform overal. Maybe it would make things easier if we had an option when crew is booked to let everyone know that the shift is filled.

Pros: The event overview is good. Vissualy it looks great.

Cons: Setting up an event takes a lot of steps. Also reviewing real time tracker and planning schedule are not great.

Just a heads up: you can pause the availability check once a shift is fully booked, which means that the shift won’t be open to apply to. "Support at Michael Wisher"

Overall: Very easy to use and the constant updates from the Ubeya team are useful

Pros: Its so easy to get people booked in for shifts

Cons: Sometimes it can be a bit glitchy and the business app is not great

Switched From: Horizon
Reasons for Switching to Ubeya: It was old and outdates whereas Ubeya allowed us to move into a new way of booking people

"excellent and seemless"

Overall: very good quick and easy to use great for allocating staff into correct areas

Pros: Very quick and easy to use makes the event enjoyable

Cons: a few changes they changed from being able to type in area for transfers but cant do this no longer and it now takes a lot longer to allocate an event
