Pros: MaxGalaxy is a helpful tool that we use to manage our multi-venue event space. In our building, we host more events than days we are open, and MaxGalaxy helps us organize those reservations into an easy-to-read interface that can be utilized by administrators and part-time workers alike.

Max gives us the opportunity to schedule individual event spaces within one building. Aside from our larger event spaces that could host ~500 people, we also host 15 "advertising tables" in our main lobby. This lets us program our 500 person events AND our two-person advertising tables, making sure we don't miss the mini-details when we're more focused on the big picture.

I like that MaxGalaxy offers multiple options when it comes to "users." As an administrator, I often need to open reservation information quickly and edit specific details while on the phone... MaxGalaxy offers me the opportunity to do that with a few clicks of the mouse. I also like that I can offer my part-time staff a non-admin option, where they can view the details of our reservation system without being able to edit or schedule anything themselves.

MaxGalaxy will help us keep our reservations straight for years to come... Literally. We have events booked out for the next few years.

Cons: MaxGalaxy only runs on Internet Explorer, which is not the most intuitive browser... We're often prompted to update Microsoft Silverlight when we try to log into the program. This wouldn't be an issue other than the fact that our computers must be remotely accessed and updated by our IT department.

The nature of higher education makes it so that the contact people change from semester to semester as they graduate/drop out/etc. It's difficult to stay up on who is the correct contact for each particular organization. I wish it was easier to update Max's contact information without gathering a brand new email/phone number/address per each new contact.

Because we deal with literally hundreds of organizations/individuals, we make our clients sign up for an account with us online. While this saves us the leg work of inputting each organization individually, it has also stuck us with a lot of individuals signing up under their own name. It's hard to know if a reservation under "John Smith" is for the Math Department or a Student Organization.

Overall: MaxGalaxy is an easy way to tell what is going on in your life within the day, week, month, and year. It's cloud-based so it can be accessed from anywhere, assuming it's via internet explorer or via the iPhone app. It's a good way to make sure all of your team members are on the same page, whether an administrator is there or not. Peace of mind for you and your staff.
