Cons The application is somewhat outdated when it comes to accessibility. The database could use some updating, as well, to match current electrical trends. I wish there were fewer updates and changes, because it seems like they create more glitches and problems trying to come out with updates all the time. Pros The ability to have multiple users working on the same job for takeoff. Cons There seems to be some glitches in the bid summary section that we have to double-check to make sure that tax gets applied. Pros The training that comes along with the software is great and very informative. The training was on my own time and was spaced out so I could take some time to work with it and apply the information that I was learning about. They even recorded each session and sent me the recordings me to be able to review at any time. May 23, 2015 5.0 Pros Best product for my business, the WIN 1000 software has been nothing but an asset to my business. I have never had so much confidence in bidding on projects until I've used this product. I've won more projects using this software than I did bidding off drawings, most of all I've saved a lot of time in completing a bid and i know exactly what my profit will be. Since the latest major update they system is almost unusable. Pros I like most of the features and the ease of use when things are working properly. If everything worked as intended I would love it. Cons The system does not work as designed. Most features do not work properly all the time. Random numbers and multiplier will be inserted, and it is very difficult to catch them all when time is of the essence. I have been very disappointed in the overall performance of the software. If it were my decision to make, I would migrate to a different estimating platform. You did the things I wanted in V16 and unless you updated the DEP I don't have any more wants or needs. I will be updating to V16 soon and I am very excited. Pros The extensive details I can customize and change. Being able to be 100% accurate to the screw while also being able to extremely granular in breaking out bids. Cons The DEP features and customization are not only underwhelming but are really buggy or broken. The symbol editor is atrocious, and I have gotten the favorites box stuck off screen. I previously used Accubid for 10 years, and ConEst and Estimation for a few years before that. McCormick is the best by far in my opinion. I love how they are constantly improving the platform. Pros There are so many thing to like about McCormick. The biggest one for me is the onscreen take-off (PRO-DEP). With this tool, I can save reprographic costs, and complete my take-off in a fraction of the time is would take without the tool. Cons Sometimes the user interface is clunky. It can be a little bit of a chore to edit assemblies. It would be nice to travel to an item based on database line item (for the most common items). Stable platform, I do really like the new options for "breaking out" jobs". The "online" sales pitches are useful as well. Pros Mostly very intuitive to use. Auto count for takeoff and the wiring saves a lot of time on estimating. Cons I do wish on the jobs list, you could search. The Landing has helped a little bit with the most recent jobs on the list. Many jobs go a month or ore out, or even longer. The only way to find them is to sort by name, and hope you named it properly. I think I've got a good base knowledge of the system but still have alot to learn. Cons Every now and then it freezes on my computer, and I have to restart my computer to continue. I also think there's so much it can do that I don't know about yet. So they are great to work with! Pros Well laid out, 5 steps not a lot of redundant tasks and highly confogurable. I am able to group assemblies and redundant tasks, duplicate a common package and save different versions. The plan counting is super clean and easy to use. Saves tons of time. Cons Invest in this software wisely. Don’t over spend on seats if you are new to estimating. No cons, but be advised that you should look into a cloud system for deployment over thin client or Mac. Their support was responsive and helpful. Trade based tutorials were not specific enough. There was no training manual available, only online tutorials and help videos. I have been awarded several contracts since the implementation of the McCormick System and applaud their efforts to continue to improve the software. Pros The software was very beneficial to my estimations.Support was always there. With the proper equipment in place, an estimator can perform a digital takeoff from the online drawings and create a proposal for the project Cons No manual available. Price intergration with Traser X is not accurate. Some items in database are irrelevant .
