Prior to this Receipts got lost so unable to verify correct amounts for accounting purposes, on that line being able to link directly into the accounting programme used means less margin of error. The ease of sharing documents with a few steps makes life so easy and timely. Pros Ease of Use, document management and file sharing, lessens the need to keep paper receipts. Makes keeping track of documents easier. Cons Sometimes customer service unavailable, but that is more to do with time zones than a fault of Hub Doc. Review Source DJ Daniel J. Pros The data extraction and setting up rules to push the bills through to Xero automatically. Included in the price of Xero. Automatic storage of documents by name of suppliers. Notes added by the client attached to bills is also very useful. Cons Adding new accounts requires a dummy email address, which is strange. More complex bills need quite a lot of manual input, especially with CIS and multicurrency. Quite an outdated layout and feel. It would be better if it go back to the way it was. Pros It creates the folders for your documents and it extracts statements to csv files. The simplicity of the platform. Cons Hubdoc has changed since it stopped the fetching. Originally it was able to fetch bank statements. Searches are complex and do not always find the document. I also love the reposting feature if there was an error when the item was posted originally. Cons Sometimes the AI is off significantly on the data extraction. May 18, 2021 5.0 Overall I was very happy with the software and when I was working as an online accountant, all my clients were subscribed to it for receipt submittal. I still use it for my personal businesses. I would highly recommend it for all small businesses that accumulate a lot of receipts. Cuts down on the paperwork. Pros I really like how the setup is easy and the integration with QuickBooks Online is smooth. I really like the mobile app and that you can upload receipts on the fly. Cons I was disappointed that the program does not allow us to setup suppliers on the fly that are in a currency other than our native one (other than the one setup as the "main" one in QBO). I also would get a bit frustrated when the syncing would randomly stop for the banks (but this may not be their fault). Pros Amazing concept, documents in one place makes reconciliations and audits a breeze. Affordable partner pricing makes recommending Hubdoc to clients a no brainer. Cons Receipt management for company paid cards and reimbursable employee expenses is lacking. Hubdoc doesn't read the receipts to determine which card was used and automatically allocate that receipt to X employee. Employees should be able to setup Hubdoc inboxes with their own email address to send receipts to. Feeds break often so if that could be improved that would be great as well. Pros We implicated this solution for our document storage problem. This was out first document storage solution. Is easy to drop files into software or email into hubdoc. Cons Organizing documents into folders is a bit tricky, buy can easily search for and find what you are looking for. It streamlines my workflow and saves me time, and makes it easier to create a digital copy of invoices/receipts and then get them reconciled in Xero. Pros Hubdoc saves a lot of time with scanning receipts and invoices and getting them into Xero. It also means I have a digital copy of all my paperwork as a backup. Cons Occasionally, an email sent to Hubdoc doesn't make it or doesn't load correctly. Usually this seems to be how the email was formatted by the original sender. Pros Ease of data extraction when processing receipts and invoices, removed the tedium of data entry for dates/addresses or references and amounts. Cons I find adding new contact or suplier inneffiecient. Firstly by adding new rather than just inputting, and then doing again when publishing, ideally this could be extracted from the receipt or invoice. And I user has to input it manually, then it should be able to be done without the extra step of having to select the the add new button. Review Source LR Lisa R. We use Hubdoc with the Xero app for accounting. Saves time and money when it comes to the data entry. Pros I love the ease of use and time that it saves me in entering receipts, bills and invoices. Cons I noticed when I downloaded a receipt and saved it into files on my computer the system would reload to a page and I wouldn't be able to figure out how to get back to the the regular menu without having to log out and back in. It's a frustrating app that thinks it's better than your own judgement to calculate the sale taxes! Pros The app is easy to use. You can start using it right away with few lessons. Cons The sale taxes feature is broken for Quebec users. The half-tax rule for meals and entertainment simply does NOT work. It's so frustration because at the end you need to download the invoice and do it yourself because the app won't allow to push your invoice if it thinks the sale taxes don't match. As Xero include it with their standard subscriptions it is very cost effective Pros The software integrates with Xero cloud accounting making it easy to get your invoices and receipts entered into your accounting records. Cons The setup is a little clunky when adding more users but once you have got your head around how to carry out the task it is fairly straight forward. Has the capability to be fed into accounting software which streamlines processes. Cons Maintenance of the feeds. It seems that the feeds are constantly going down and the majority of the battle (rather than collecting documentation manually) is ensure the feeds with whichever institution is functioning properly. I like that we can pull statements and docs easily from Hubdoc if needed. Cons I wish all the banks and software were setup to use Hubdoc. When I put out a software or bank sync request, I don't usually hear back from anyone on the Hubdoc team. When I have an issue using Hubdoc, I don't ever hear back from the customer service team. April 26, 2019 2.0 In the beginning all was fine. Everything worked like it should. (Over a year ago.) Within six months of using the product all auto fetch connections started to break causing us to have to continually re-enter credentials. Now it is to the point where several accounts are not working at all. Pros Great concept of all documents, statements etc.. in one location. Able to share with accountant and others Cons Connections ALWAYS break and seldom work for long periods of time. Support is slow to respond with a fix. It also offers a free partner account for accountants. Cons Sometimes it fails to recognize the receipts and shows an error message even though the receipt is from an existing supplier. Their free training programs are great. Pros I liked that it was able to fetch the documents and statements I needed. Online cloud and customizable document storage was great. Integration with QuickBooks Online is a must. Cons It may seem silly, but my only real issue with this program was how I felt using it. CPA Accounting Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Bank login connection is extremely difficult to establish" May 16, 2019 1.0 I tried to set up accounts in Hubdoc with three different banks, BofA, PNC and TD. So much of my time has been invested into just trying to log in through Hubdoc. It only works with BofA and with the other two it just keeps giving me nonsense error messages. I even passed security verification through Hubdoc with PNC but the message just says "having problem communicating..." With TD, I entered the verification code that the bank sent me and Hubdoc keeps asking for it over and over again. I don't know how many times I am supposed to enter it??? 10000000000 times? Pros I like the images and PDFs auto fetched Cons Bank login does not work for a lot of banks Review Source AS Andrew S. Pros I like the fact that the program had an app which made it easy to upload documents from anywhere. Cons There was a learning curve for the software and it did not properly capture or record receipts all the time.
