Creative Content Writer Internet Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Postcron vs Others" September 30, 2019 4.0 Overall, I liked postcron and we still use occasionally for scheduling stories and creating graphics since it is so easy to use and does the job. Pros My team and I liked Postcron more than Hootsuite. It was relatively inexpensive compared and easy to use. Plus we could schedule on Instagram directly for a time (more on that below). I love the instagram poster and the story scheduler. They even have an app where you can edit your own graphics! Cons The postcron people were not transparent with their methodologies. Example: they promised instagram direct posting, but since they are not an instagram partner, their system at some point was blocked by the official API. My posts were not getting posted for about a month or 2 and they never wrote to apologize, nor explain. Also, there is no "calendar" view. So when you created 20 posts for the next 6 months, it was hard to locate the one you have to edit or cancel. August 24, 2017 2.0 Pros When I started out on the professional side of social media, oh so many moons ago, the options for posting to social networks, outside of their native platforms was limited. In the early days, you had Hootsuite and a few other options, and that was it. In past five years, many tools and apps have popped up on the scene to offer alternatives for professional social media management. One of this alternative applications is PostCrong. PostCron offers social media scheduling for a variety of social networks, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Google+. The price is reasonable, some of the expected features are there (content recommendations, time zone based scheduling, etc.) and you can add a decent number of profiles. But the praise ends there. Cons Initially I thought I would love PostCron. Unfortunately, that was not the case. In order to provide effective consulting on a social media project, or in the handling of social postings in my day to day work, I require constant access to my clients' accounts both at home and on the go. One hallmark of a great social media tool, one that I will love and sing its praise, is a great mobile version. Few apps are equally good on both Android and iOS platforms, but the best really excel at one or the other. I use both mobile operating systems and I can say that while PostCron does offer extensions and mobile apps, they are not up to par. The Chrome extension is decent and allows for easy sharing across sites, however the iOS and Android apps are abysmal. The iOS app being the worst, and seemingly full of bugs - unexpected, random closing of the app in the middle of one's work. Similarly the Android app is buggy and difficult to rely upon on a daily (or even weekly) basis. The UX/UI design is clunky and not as intuitive as one might expect if you've used social media tools for more than a minute. The Instagram offering is limited at best (of course due to the restrictions on posting to the IG api, this is true of most social media applications). The biggest drawback is the customer support is not up to par for a mainstream software in the social media marketplace. Be forewarned - billing issues are not resolved easily or quickly. The ability to upload posts by CSV import is excellent. Cons It is easy to learn how it works but I made mistakes early on which made some published posts look wrong. In particular you need to understand the rules relating to the inclusion of links and images. I don't use Postcron for scheduling Instagram posts mainly because links don't work in Instagram posts and you need to refer to the link in your profile. Pros This tool has made scheduling post on various social media platforms like FB, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+ , Instagram and LinkedIn an easy task. You just need to provide the content and the date and it will automatically post your content on the said date and time. It definitely is not worth the price I paid. Pros There weren’t features that made posting easier, you still have to manually copy and post daily. Cons The customer service is robot like, there is no number or live person to talk to. The marketing for the free trial is confusing and they make no exceptions for refunds after the free trial, even if their was an error in a customer purchase. I purchased one month, however I was charged a whole year up front. The site and billing is deceptive. I asked for a refund 5 times. I never head back from a service rep until I threatened to make fraud complaint. Do not use this service. They are fraudulant! Pros nothing, I hated this product. I could not tell you one thing I like Cons it does not work. Everything about this product sucks. It is full of bugs, And worst of is the customer service. Director Design Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Competing social sharing apps work better" March 15, 2019 2.0 A couple years ago I would have recommended social media marketers and hobbyists who need to schedule posts and social-share quickly to take a look at Postcron. Now, there are better solutions. For me, SEMRush Poster is at the top in this field, followed by the venerable Buffer. I can't think of any advantage that Postcron has over those two. Pros I've used Postcron off and on for years, whenever one of my other social sharing apps disappointed me or removed features from early adopters (looking at you dlvr.it) and for the most part, it's done the job, reliably grabbing images from posts when other apps didn't. Instagram is now supported, so that's a plus, and not with the wonky workarounds some other apps require. Bulking uploading of post is a real time saver but not an important feature for small businesses and hobbyists. Postcron allows more social media account in the free plan than other apps do. The recommendation engine isn't bad but by no means best in class. Cons Chrome extension hasn't been updated since 2017 and is broken. I don't have the patience to use the web interface for only a handful of posts and I imagine this is a deal breaker for many pros. " December 18, 2019 2.0 I am a spoiled Indian with a great customer support from companies. I have always got a solution where I have invested in money and never felt scammed before. I was using the software as trial and other softwares too and because of some issue with their website I couldn't connect my instagram, thinking that it might be just one of a case. I tried other available softwares and figured out that the most common way to post multiple posts is by paying a premium amount. I found out that this one was the most economical one and purchased it. Realised soon enough that they are not partnered with Instagram firstly and that they do not support multiple posts anyway! It's been a troubling process for me to speak to their representative - \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\]. We have exchanged over 20 emails and there's still no result. My money is dumped into waste of theirs! Pros No PROS! WORST CUSTOMER SUPPORT EVER! There should be a case study presented on "How not to Email Customers" for them. Cons Read description below. Pros This used to save me time as I was managing several social media accounts. You can add images, hashtags and schedule them so you can have some peace of mind that your social channels are active while you're away. Cons I've always had UX problems with this software and I don't believe it's the best you can get. As for customer support, they did absolutely nothing to help me and just left me on "seen" when I asked if they could follow up. Pros Scheduling social posts is very easy. I really like the ability to schedule posts for Instagram, which I hadn't found available on other software. Cons I don't know if its a flaw of Postcron or due to Instagram's policies, but I don't like having to manually post on IG, even though a post is scheduled with Postcron. I also am not a big fan of the base plan that doesn't allow for a second person to access the account. I don't need to have a full agency access but also don't want to share my account log in details with another person. I had a marginal to difficult experience using the service and didn't want to renew. I had no use for it after the first year, either. Unbeknownst to me, because I had used the service for one year, they considered me a "subscriber." Because I missed their self-appointed renewal date, they automatically billed me with NO advance notice or courtesy email. (Professional companies do notify you.) When I contacted them to tell them I hadn't been aware it was an auto-renewal and had no need to renew, they refused to cancel the subscription. My impression is that the money is all they cared about. I won't ever trust them again. Pros Not feeling very pro anything now, after they charged me for services I didn't want. Cons Clunky website, difficult interface, unresponsive customer service, questionable billing practices. Reason for choosing Postcron I hadn't considered alternatives. Postcron should clearly specify this daily limit in the "Plans and Pricing" section. Finding this problem AFTER taking a lot of time to setup the product is really frustrating Pros Bulk Load feature seems promising but there is a limit of 18 Instagram posts per day ! Cons With the daily limit, the Bulk Load is useless. I can easily post 18 images manually. I wanted to use Bulk Load to post much more than that. I have been using "Later.com" for months without any daily limitation. They also become very expensive after a few years as they become popular. Then PostCron came along and wow they really got it on the mark. An impressive array of features that hits around 85% of everything I need, it has become my new go to for managing multiple streams of social media all in one dashboard. Pros Really easy to use. A nice dashboard that makes it simple to add/schedule content, new channels, etc. Cons Very few faults with this one . I'm sure it has faults although the positives far outway the negatives.
