Shapediver provides a lot of resources (blog posts, explanatory videos, webinar) to help explain how to use and optimize your definitions to work smoother as an online configurator. They seem to actively work on new and improved features and listen to user requests on the forum. The platform grew a lot over the last few years. Cons Creating newer versions of the same configurator is currently a bit of a pain. There's currently no way to replace the previous version, hence you need to upload the updated version and replace the ticket from the previous version on the web development part of the project. There's also no built-in way to control the order or visibility of the parameters from within Grasshopper itself. So every time you upload a new version you need to change this again. Shapediver has acknowledged these shortcomings and claim solving these problems is on their roadmap. Also, every definition containing a script is manually being checked before approval, which can slow down development. I can only imagine the countless possible models /applications that you can create with it. It can be easily connected with your website. The greatest thing is that you can apply it for just about any product. Another great thing is the free account and access to the platform so both computational designers and manufacturers should try it. Cons I am looking forward to improved plugin and scripts support. The platform has already had great improvements and there are new features with each update. Working with Shapediver allowed me to have new perspectives on working with applications in different types of markets. Pros Allows you to configure different types of products very quickly and with low development cost and little complexity. It is the best 3D configurator for customizable products, especially if your product changes dimensions. By hosting grasshopper files we can parameterize products very quickly and create different types of interactions through the API. With the API it becomes an amazing playground and frontend for projects. Currently, I have a couple of projects running with Shapediver which wouldn't have been as good without it. Pros Shapediver is one of the most promising platforms in our industry. The covers a wide range of necessities and brings my work (computational models and algorithms) to the next level. Customer support and alacrity is top notch. Happy to have become a user of Shapediver. Cons I found only one technical issue with Armenian language fonts which was quickly addressed by their team. Cons Technical documentation is a bit lacking in some parts, but their team are always glad to help.
