It is possible to make great videos with just a few hours of exploring the website. Pros It's a very versatile program for creating all kinds of animations, especially 2D style. I used it a lot during my school days and it was very easy to learn because of how intuitive it is. Cons In the past, the program used to freeze a lot. At the beginning, it wasn't designed for low-performance computers, especially those in public schools, so I always had to use my personal PC to create the animations with minimal lag. Switched from [Powtoon](https://www.capterra.com/p/140321/PowToon/) Unlike Powtoon, creating animated presentations quickly and easily with Animaker is far superior. It was easy to figure out what each section was for. Pros Gives me full control over how I want my scenes to look, on other animation sites, you can't even edit the colors. I also get creative points using this instead of recording myself for projects. Support team is very responsive and helpful. Shout out to Giftson Cons The time limit 😑. Please increase it to 5 minutes. April 9, 2025 3.0 I really wanted to fall in love with this tool but it's super glitchy and I kept having to pay to upgrade. Their chat and tech support is very responsive but I think this tool has a long way to go. Pros It's fun and easy to use. It creates something cool and unique and they have a lot of good and free features that you can incorporate. Cons It's super glitchy and scenes just start disappearing all of a sudden. I had to contact their tech support to get some deleted scenes back and it took them a day and a half to do so. I also didn't like not being able to add links into my video. Even if the features seem promising on paper, they’re overshadowed by constant lagging and crashes. It's hard to appreciate anything when you're stuck refreshing the app and losing progress repeatedly. Cons I had high hopes for Animaker, but it’s been nothing short of a frustrating experience. The app constantly lags, making it almost impossible to get anything done. Every time I try to create or edit something, it freezes, forcing me to refresh the page and start all over again. It’s incredibly time-consuming and unproductive, especially when you’re in the middle of a project. The lagging issue has been persistent, and it seems like there’s no fix in sight. For an app that's supposed to make animation easier, it’s doing the complete opposite. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you enjoy wasting time and pulling your hair out. I think they have made it super easy and user friendly and my kiddos love the simplicity of the videos they’re not overly stimulating in the free and basic version and they honestly didn’t take very much time to put together because Lord knows as a teacher of 24 first graders. I do not have a ton of time to get everything done while my kids are at special. Pros I love that when I use Animaker in the free version I can make three 2 minutes (or less) videos each month to share with my kids and students. I love to do this for whatever our topic or virtue of the month is. You can choose to pay the $20 a month and get the basic plan and that has a lot more features available and you can make way more customized videos that are longer to cover each of your class rules, new concepts, and just fun ideas for the month. Thanks to Animaker, I had the freedom to fully explore my thoughts without the limitation of having to explain it to someone else to execute. Oh, and it saved our budget as well. Pros As a first-time animator, I really didn't know what to expect. I figured it would take me stitching together a thousand micro actions to create just one motion or scene. To my surprise, the library had countless well thought out pre-made micro scenes that allowed me to develop all my story portions with extreme ease and in the shortest possible time. I love using it. Cons Editing pre-made templates can be a little exhaustive. I wish there was a way you only had to replace a character once and have it replicated in all other subsequent scenes. Cons $1500 AUD on special for 1 year subscription.. They did not tell me that I wasn't given access to anything with the diamond on it in the images and video's. I told the girl \[sensitive content hidden\], that I want to use the video's for my ministry. she said Enterprise is the best plan. Load of rubbish!!!Also once you try and search for an image, you literally have to scroll through 1000's of pictures you CAN'T use to try and find one that you're able to use. Although I am a college student and unfortunately just had surgery on my foot so I am off work, the prices were high at this time of my life, and I could not afford the upgrade. Can be limited and youtube has helped me able to use it. Once you get the hang of it it is very simple to use not unlike powerpoint. Pros Having a character do all the talking for you to explain long winded processes is excellent. I then go into the detail and explain them in more detail. Being able to animate these situations is such a bonus. Learning by observing is the best learning process. Cons A one time fee for as many downloads that you want is much better than the tiered pricing that is available.
