It is possible to make great videos with just a few hours of exploring the website. Pros It's a very versatile program for creating all kinds of animations, especially 2D style. I used it a lot during my school days and it was very easy to learn because of how intuitive it is. Cons In the past, the program used to freeze a lot. At the beginning, it wasn't designed for low-performance computers, especially those in public schools, so I always had to use my personal PC to create the animations with minimal lag. Please increase it to 5 minutes. Even if the features seem promising on paper, they’re overshadowed by constant lagging and crashes. It's hard to appreciate anything when you're stuck refreshing the app and losing progress repeatedly. Cons I had high hopes for Animaker, but it’s been nothing short of a frustrating experience. The app constantly lags, making it almost impossible to get anything done. Every time I try to create or edit something, it freezes, forcing me to refresh the page and start all over again. It’s incredibly time-consuming and unproductive, especially when you’re in the middle of a project. The lagging issue has been persistent, and it seems like there’s no fix in sight. For an app that's supposed to make animation easier, it’s doing the complete opposite. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you enjoy wasting time and pulling your hair out. I think they have made it super easy and user friendly and my kiddos love the simplicity of the videos they’re not overly stimulating in the free and basic version and they honestly didn’t take very much time to put together because Lord knows as a teacher of 24 first graders. I do not have a ton of time to get everything done while my kids are at special. Pros I love that when I use Animaker in the free version I can make three 2 minutes (or less) videos each month to share with my kids and students. I love to do this for whatever our topic or virtue of the month is. You can choose to pay the $20 a month and get the basic plan and that has a lot more features available and you can make way more customized videos that are longer to cover each of your class rules, new concepts, and just fun ideas for the month. It creates something cool and unique and they have a lot of good and free features that you can incorporate. Cons It's super glitchy and scenes just start disappearing all of a sudden. I had to contact their tech support to get some deleted scenes back and it took them a day and a half to do so. I also didn't like not being able to add links into my video. Thanks to Animaker, I had the freedom to fully explore my thoughts without the limitation of having to explain it to someone else to execute. Oh, and it saved our budget as well. Pros As a first-time animator, I really didn't know what to expect. I figured it would take me stitching together a thousand micro actions to create just one motion or scene. To my surprise, the library had countless well thought out pre-made micro scenes that allowed me to develop all my story portions with extreme ease and in the shortest possible time. I love using it. Cons Editing pre-made templates can be a little exhaustive. I wish there was a way you only had to replace a character once and have it replicated in all other subsequent scenes. February 24, 2021 5.0 I am a foreign language educator and while we are doing quite a bit of distance learning this is coming in very handy to help students understand the short stories and vocabulary I need them to learn/comprehend. Overall I am much happier with this software than the others I have used mostly because it is much easier to have my characters do exactly what I want them to do without having to rewrite my script to match what is available. There are still a few adjustments that need to be made but it is much easier than before. I am anxious to finally have the paid version so I have even more options. Pros I really like that the characters have LOTS of different movement options. I love that I can create my own characters as well with all kinds of options. I also like that some of the extra images also have some default movements. I found it to be very fast in exporting and you don't have to wait while it exports. You can do other things. Having the text to speech built right in is a plus. Other software packages that I have used don't offer nearly the amount of options. Cons The tutorials could be a little more clear. It has a bit of a learning curve. I wish the animal characters were available on the regular version. I also wish it had an offline version so I could continue to work while away from internet. I wish the text to speech had more voice options and that they sounded a little more human. I am still operating on the free version. Perhaps they are better after paying. The organization was overall my favorite. Pros I love how Animaker was very easy to use. I created a lesson plan with many objectives with no problem. The images were clear, and the voiceovers are amazing! Overall, the presentation was neatly laid out and made everything so much easier. Cons I do not have much to say that was bad. Although I am a college student and unfortunately just had surgery on my foot so I am off work, the prices were high at this time of my life, and I could not afford the upgrade. Can be limited and youtube has helped me able to use it. Once you get the hang of it it is very simple to use not unlike powerpoint. Pros Having a character do all the talking for you to explain long winded processes is excellent. I then go into the detail and explain them in more detail. Being able to animate these situations is such a bonus. Learning by observing is the best learning process. Cons A one time fee for as many downloads that you want is much better than the tiered pricing that is available. I got my question answered ind depth, but a few minutes later I had another question, which he answered as promptly as the first time. He included links to make sure I got all my questions answered and he even went out of the way and created a video showing me on his screen how to do exactly what I needed help understanding how to do. Honestly, I have never had this level of customer service from a software company, EVER. I use several subscription services for my work and I am just so pleasantly surprised about the level of care that this company provides its users. So happy and thankful! Aminaker made it possible to internally create content we thought we would have needed to outsorce saving us a signficant amount in operation costs. Pros I have been using animaker to create whiteboard explainer videos for marketing and internal presentations. What I like the most about it so far is its ease of use. It is fairly easy to create animation videos in animaker without prior experience in the field. As such, its integration to our organisation was smooth and seamless. Cons What I liked the least about animaker is the fact is is only available online. Making it hard or impossible to use when/if their are interuptions to the internet connection.
