Customer support for Tracked is outstanding - very timely and helpful for whatever questions arise. Pros Tracked is simple (near-instant) to setup and supports a basic Kanban interface for your existing projects and teams inside of Basecamp. There are only a few supported features, but they are just the ones you need which keeps this add-on light and avoids interferences with the core Basecamp functionality. Cons There is a small problem with bookmarking URLs to the Kanban views of project and teams: some views don't have distinct URL paths so you occasionally have to visit the page, and then interact with UI to load the proper view setting. This is mildly annoying but tiny compared to overall value of the plugin. Pros This software is elegant and effective. Setup is quick, and rollout through your organization is as easy as installing a Chrome plugin. Additionally, the team is a pleasure to chat with through various support and feature requests. Cons My qualms with Tracked are based on it not meeting my (personal and organization) needs specifically. For starters, I don't like to use Google Chrome (at all) but Tracked only works with a Chrome extension. Secondly, our departments have different needs for a Kanban board, and Tracked wasn't flexible enough for our needs. For instance, you could choose to have the cards be either individual to-dos or entire to-do lists, but we needed both in different circumstances. Additionally, we needed a solution where someone could see one, some, or all to-dos assigned to them, but not the entire project. Though, this may have been related to our setup of Basecamp. It's already allowing for great work flow and MUCH better tracking of things and where our workflow is being held up. Pros I love the integration into basecamp, specifically with Kanban boards. I run our RMA/Repair system through todos which are associated to SupportBee tickets. With Kanban boards I can quickly see where a problem in my workflow is happening and who I need to action for it to continue moving. Great Tool. We do meetings where everything is based around Kanban board. Labels!!!! I love labels get for sorting. Cons Customization options for fields is a miss between the two. Right now I'm using label but would prefer to be able to make these into fields. At the moment I create to-dos with about 25 fields for our repair team so it would be great if I could create my own fields like labels and be able to sort. The labels never stay on my to-dos if I put them on while creating the todo. I have to create the to do and then add labels. I would love to do RMA Number of Serial Number of Product / Type. Pros The navigation between different interfaces is easy and organized. Everything I need to move my tasks from "to-do" to "done" is at my fingertips. I can communicate easily with everyone on my team and let them know all statuses and updates and move between all the different tasks without hassle. Its impeccable design optimizes my workflow and productivity across the board. Cons I would like to see an increased design personalization feature. Something to make the website feel a bit more like home (color choice or areas for updating an inspirational quote on the home page would be awesome). Overall, amazing, but it could be a bit more personalized. Pros This is a great integration that gives Basecamp a whole new aspect. Having a Kanban board optionally available within projects is a huge leap forward. Also, the inability to copy labels from one project to another (or put them into templates) and lack of any real reporting or exporting and sorting capability was disappointing. Overall, I thought it would be more useful than it actually is for our needs. Pros I like the virtual Kanban Board, and that you can customize and save a standard setup for your team to use over and again for future projects. The drag and drop makes it easy to use, and it is nice to have individual Kanban Boards within each project as well. Cons A few things: I didn't like that labels don't copy from one project to another, and that you can't set labels in project templates. It would be nice to be able to export the to-dos with labels so you can report on them and sort the data, but that doesn't seem to be possible. Also, you only have two options to display cards, and neither of them are quite good enough. One is to display every item on every to-do list (including the lists itself, which is confusing) as a card, and this takes a really long time to sync if you have a lot of projects. The other is just to display the projects as cards, which is too broad when a project has multiple To-do lists and several features being worked on at once. August 28, 2018 4.0 As a coordinator for a busy training company, I have a million details to keep track of every day. I was very reluctant to use this software but now that I have started I will not go without it. The software is flexible, fairly intuitive and never fails (where my memory often does). I really like being able to move the cards around from column to column, the ability to add documents, links and comments right in the To Do list, the labels so you can view like things together and so much more! Pros Ease of use, flexibility (it works for coordinating a training, projects, home, work), ability to comment and have those comments go to the person's email, LOVE being able to move the cards from list to list, labels and the notifications. Pros I am a Basecamp superuser and generally have over 45 project cards going at one time. It was helpful to be able to customize where those projects are in their flow and move them along as we make progress. Cons It's been great actually, I haven't had any issues. The only thing I will say is that it shows up in my google chrome as an add-on and I often click it thinking it will give me notifications or link me somewhere, but really it only shows me which basecamps I have connected to Tracked and when I click on the basecamp it doesn't take me anywhere. It isn't an issue at all, it's just a weird thing that I don't find to be necessary or intuitive. Review Source MT Michael T. I am looking forward for it to integrate with Harvest as well if possible. since our setup is Basecamp as PM tool, Harvest as time tracker, and Tracked as Kanban/Agile tool. Pros I don't know how others manage their team priorities with Basecamp. Being the IT director using basecamp alone wasn't sufficient. Once Tracked was introduced by the developers, a world of different for me. I needed two vectors project management to adapt to the complexities and demand of the projects. This tool allows me to focus my team priorities and continuously drive scrum and agile efforts without fail. Cons Instant Report/Statistics. Since the tool can see completed items, it doesn't hurt to see how fast tasks are completed. Definitely a dashboard of some kind to tabulate existing tasks say, Pie Chart 1 shows how many newly created task. How many is assigned but not actively using. The dashboard can also include pie charts for all status. What is our majority task type? onholds, inprogress, backlog or new-to-do(unassigned tasks)? It gave us a really quick reality check, and has forced us to look at projects and prioritise better. Pros It is great to be able to quickly address and view my teams workload, and in real time, the way the individual Kanban boards interact with overall project boards is great and saves a lot of time giving status updates manually. Cons There is not a company wide - all projects - kanban. It would be great to have a view of what everyone is working on across multiple projects. Pros I love the functionality. While it has it's occasional glitches, the overall use of it is amazing. Our company has benefited from it so much. Even though we are a smaller team we all work together, sometimes remote, and we juggle a lot of different things for an ever-growing client list. Tracked has helped us communicate better because we could hop in and see what projects were being worked on and who has been working on them. It has allowed us to break out bigger projects into smaller bit size pieces that make more sense to the team. Cons The glitches are pretty common. We also had some issues for a while trying to figure out labels to where we did not have to recreate the same ones every new task we made. But support was always there to help. Though I feel it is slightly expensive for being just a plugin, Its worth is in a way justified by how important that features are to implement agile development. However, Tracked may lose its value, if these obvious features are implemented by basecamp or another plugin, at lower or no-cost. Pros I like the fact that Tracked team continuously innovates and is incorporating more agile features into the kanban board, so scrum masters can implement the agile process in a much more organized and easy fashion on Basecamp. At a glance you can see what to-dos need doing, which ones are in QA, what is completed, etc. Cons There are some issues when working on larger projects. It tends not to stay synced and will drop connection with Basecamp, so we are constantly logging back into Tracked. The kanban board is an all or none kind of deal. It should have the ability to track both by project and to-do and not just one way of tracking for everyone. Pros What I like the most about Tracked is the easy and clear visualization of the to-do's of the whole team. Also, installing it is very easy and the integration with BaseCamp is smooth. Cons It doesn't work with the BaseCamp app, so if I want to use it, I have to open my browser and go to BaseCamp's website. Also, when I first installed it, it was confusing and din't really know where to find the Kanban board. After your figure it out though, it works great. April 19, 2018 4.0 Adds functionalities that are not native to basecamp and are quite important, especially for software developers. Pros It's simple and straightforward. Adds kanban style cards and other functionalities that software developers in particular miss about basecamp. Cons Because it's so targeted and simple, sometimes there are important functionalities that are missing. It is also a bit buggy at times. When first integrating, we had trouble getting it to work properly, and it wouldn't show for every account. Pros My office recently made the switch from another project management software to Basecamp, and the biggest things we were missing was the ability to flag tasks, and the utilization of Kanban boards. Tracked solved both of those huge gaps. Cons Sometimes the interface gets a little clunky, when trying to manage labels. You can power through, but it is a point of annoyance. Pros Adopting Trello style kanban boards instead of static to-do lists inside Basecamp is excellent, and helps us keep things in one place. Cons Because it relies on a browser extension, it can't be used in either the official Desktop or mobile applications, leading to an inconsistent user experience across platforms. Pros I liked the ability to see all of our to-dos across projects in one board. Our company struggles with the holisitc overview of all projects . Cons My main complaint is the difference in views - when you view a project folder's kanban board you see the names of the to-do lists, but when you view all of a person's to-dos or all of the company's to-dos you see each individual to do rather the names of lists. This made the naming difficult because we had to develop a naming system that was specific whether you were viewing the to-do lists or each individual to do. The updating was also weird sometimes. In the "view all of \_\_\_\_'s to dos" it would show to-dos from projects that were archived. But it wouldn't show those on the individual projects board.
