IT Construction Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Lots of Tools to mold your process to a paperless one" April 1, 2019 4.0 We are a subcontractor that performs concrete work like curbs and sidewalks. We needed a paperless system that would allow our foreman to fill out daily logs and site information, as well as time sheets. We looked at many programs but none of them had the straightforward basic style of form filling that we needed, and if they did, those programs were $400-$1k per month! is, essentially, a construction / contractor management software that streamlines daily tasks. The good part about this program is that it has so many features that any business can mold their current workflow or process to the one in Contractor Foreman by finding the right tools in the application. In my research, NO software does it all, and if you need a program that directly correlates to your current process, then good luck! You're better of designing software yourself. However, if you have some flexibility and want to eliminate all those costly miscommunications and loss of notes, then definitely give CF a try! In addition, the scheduling feature empowered us to transition to digital schedules seamlessly. Cons I recommend enabling the option to edit a pdf multiple times and save changes. Its a great tool that has a ton of uses, I don't know how we did things without it! Pros I like the compatibility with this software and QuickBooks. We were looking for a software mostly for bidding and invoicing and being seamless with our Quickbooks process. This makes our lives easier with keeping everything in one location. Cons There was some glitches when information relayed from CF to QB. We learned it was best to just invoice through QB because for some reason it was a better transition from QB to CF for invoice tracking and payments. Some of the Lead tracking is pretty decent, but overall its been good. Cons I've had a hard time with the scheduling/dispatch part of the software, but that could be me not putting in the time to figure it out. I've only poked around a bit, and haven't fully reached out for help or searched youtube videos about it yet. I can use the mobile version to directly upload contacts onto the dashboard. My contractors can also use the mobile version to provide project status updates and upload photos. Additionally, whenever I have issues or questions, it's easy to get in touch with customer support. Cons CF has an option to provide suggestions on how to improve their system (which is great), but it would be nice if they followed up to let me know if they are actually working on implementing the suggestion. It ended up not being the solution to our unique situation, but it had nothing to do with the quality of the software. Pros The customer service is the best thing about this service. They are always responsive, polite, and helpful. They are always available and willing to help and will make any changes possible to ensure their software is meeting customers needs. Cons Document management was my least favorite. Uploading was clunky, organizing was impossible, and there was no option to batch delete. It's not that CF was the cheapest, but I believe it's the best value for our needs. And it doesn't hurt that it looks good. Some DB people work on the backend but forget about the UX and UI. CF has the feel of Mac people having designed it. UI and UX matter. December 12, 2021 5.0 Completely happy with this software as the more we use it, I feel that it helps us back better. Pros I liked the part where the predecessors in the Gantt chart are linked to each other task and saves a lot of our time in modifying the schedule. Cons We missed the feature where we wanted to color the trades to track them for each project. This feature could help us see if that particular trade overlaps on the same date on a different project. A bigger picture of the schedule is something that we would suggest to view them easily and avoid scrolling sideways. From each item, click on the Action dropdown and then click View/Email PDF. That will open a popup where you can select the template you want to use and type the message, select recipients, and add the subject. If you are not sending an item, you can click on Menu > Send Email. We track the Sent/Delivered/Open/Clicked stats as well.
