Pros

  • Its visual test automation simplifies testing, boosting our speed and website quality. It's browser-friendly and integrates seamlessly with tools like Jenkins and Jira.

  • Many great features that simplify the day to day like of an automation engineer, from test design, to implementation, reporting and root cause analysis.

  • UI and API testing made very easy for non-IT people. Availability and professionalism of the Boozang support team: big thank you to Mats and Wensheng, keep up the good job.

Cons

  • Since I don't know how to code much, I was a little scared to use Boozang at first. The thing that helped me a lot was the documentation and the videos available, mostly the Udemy course.

  • No, because if any features that are missing, Mats and his team at boozang are quick to implement them into very quickly.

  • Its hard to think of a feature that is not likely in the product.

"Boozang Codeless Automation (In My Opinion)"

Overall: It was quite a steep learning curve but it was worth it in the end.

Pros: All recordings, validations and testing can be done through the web browser. Boozang also has an automatic reporting feature for any bugs you may come across while testing. The software also comes with great Cucumber support for any pre-existing plugins you may want to implement.

Cons: It is rather technical and not as easy to use as I would've liked with many glitches happening frequently so you always have to pay close attention to where you may have gone wrong but eventually, you do get used to the way the software performs.

Reasons for Choosing Boozang: Boozang has a free trial that allows you to learn the ropes before deciding on making the purchase.

Pros: Great product to automatize test without code (but you are still able to use JavaScript code for more specific actions)

Cons: The interface is a little complicated to understand at first

"Boozang early user"

Overall: The team is extremely reactive and added on-demand feature. The advantage of being an early customer. It really secures us by running automated smoke tests on all our critical flows.

Pros: Boozang is data-oriented, and test scenarios are chunk into small reusable test suites. It has a recording function to bootstrap test scenarios fastly. It's way easier to write a scenario than with Postman or Cypress, especially when having to handle authentication. Plus Boozang added load testing elements that allow us to evaluate our app reaction to an heavy load with real life scenarios.

Cons: There are a lot of features that seem complex at the beginning, or that are a bit hidden. We started with the tool at its early stage, so we encountered many bugs that have since been solved. Keeping execution times reasonable is an art and resorts on structuring the tests properly.

Reasons for Choosing Boozang: A lot faster to write test suites, support of Cucumber
Reasons for Switching to Boozang: It covers all our needs in a more integrated way

Yeah, keeping execution times down is indeed one of the key challenges of doing end-to-end testing. Besides general test optimization, allowing tests to be run in parallel has been our best remedy for long execution times. Right now, we are also adding better support for mixing API and UI tests, which should reduce execution times significantly, where applicable.
