It keeps improving, new features are added. Has everything I need in a guitar practice/composing tool Pros It is easy to use and so popular because it allows users to transcribe and compose in tabulature format with playback capability (you may playback in various tempi for practice). You can write multitrack projects and play them back (eg. guitars, bass and drums). This feature worked well over a dozen years ago (nearing two dozens in a few years) and got polished over the years. Cons One thing I wish was better designed is the official tab portal (MySongbook). I remember it was quite alive early in this century, when they allowed users to share and upload their tabs. Now there is Ultimate Guitar, where you may find and share everything you need and MySongbook seem to be quite dead in comparison. Also, it has benifited me in easily being able to find the chords or tabs of the songs i need. I would highly recommend this software for beginners as well as for pros. Pros The best thing i like about this software is that it has a library of thousands of both popular and unpopular songs. I always use Guitar pro to look into chords when i'm playing the guitar in parties and get togethers with my friends. It is easier and more accurate than googling for tabs and chords. Furthermore, it is also very easy to use as it can even edit music notations in many instruments such as the keyboard which is another instrument I use. Cons One issue that i have faced when using Guitar Pro is when tuning my guitar. sometimes it doesn't give accurate readings. However, this does not happen all the time. Manager Accounting Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Has been a gamechanger for me" August 27, 2018 5.0 Guitar pro is just amazing, it has really been a gamechanger for me, it has been as helpful as my music teacher and ever since I started using it my skills have been improving at an amazing pace, it is just unbelievable. Pros For someone just starting to learn how to play the guitar it is such a helpful tool, ever since my teacher recommended it my skills started improving, specially by playing with back tracks (something that allows you to practice keeping the rythm and keeping with the beat). Practicing on your own with a sheet of music paper is nothing compared to practicing along beats from this software, it has been a gamechanger. Cons I have nothing bad to say about guitar pro, it is without a doubt such a helpful software for me and my music teacher, I made an incredible jump on my skills ever since I started using it. Pros Guitar Pro makes it fun and easy to learn how to play a new instrument. With this software, I learned how to play guitar and the electric bass fluently. It is perfect for first time learners as well as continuing musicians. Guitar Pro comes loaded with features to help you transcribe your music into paper, backtracks/playback to help improve rhythm, and interface which is essential for recording guitar tracks. Cons Many would argue that Guitar Pro is costly, considering that their are other guitar apps which are free of charge on Google Playstore. Pros This software is one of the best things that happened to me when I was learning how to play bass, mostly for working on my rhythm skills, practicing on your own without a good track is a big handicap and this software gets rid of this issue. It is also amazing for writing your own music, which is something that halps you develop your musician ear. Cons This software is a bit overwhelming when you first start using it. Cons Guitar Pro is totally great, but i think it could improve the sound of some instruments to make them look more real, like for example the sound of the metals (wind instruments), this is one of the most difficult to emulate. I did invest time in learning to master the program. It gets better with the time. I highly recommend Pros When I started to learn to play guitar my teacher recommended me Guitar Pro and I was really amazed at that moment on how complete was the program. You can hear real-time melodies and also hear your own recording plus compose with it. With all the updates it has become even better since when I started using it you could not hear real music samples but even without this feature it helped me a lot with my process. Pros It has a ver accurate and simple guitar execution engine wich allows you to visualize the tablature or partiture of a particular song. Cons Since the 7th version the speed trainer can't be personalized as previous versions, so when you want to practice incrementally, it only has a fixed set of speed from 70% to 100%, this is so limited when you are practicing metal solos... Pros I have been playing string instruments my whole life, cuatro (latin instrument), acoustic and electric guitar, mandolin and bandola, and guitar pro has been with me for a long time. It has helped me in perfecting my guitar skills and to write down music for all of my string instruments. We used tab and chart and has a nice store of musical instruments to choose from. I thing as far as musical programs you can buy you can't go wrong with this one. You can export your music and lay down multiple tracks. The software just really is fantastic for learning to play, learning to compose and as a teaching tool. The fact that they improve it so much as the updates keep coming is just another testament to how great it truly is. Pros I bought this program years ago and it just grew as I progressed in the music field. I was easily able to open and set up the program and get started right away. I like that it continued to add more options and selections in sound as the years went by. Cons I struggled at first finding things and found it lacked a nice easy interface in the beginning.
