December 10, 2018 5.0 Guitar Pro is great for creating and editing sheet music of all kinds. I used it specifically for piano, which didn't pose much of a problem despite the name of the software. Pros I picked up a free trial of Guitar Pro a while back when I considered writing my own music. I play the piano, so I was worried that the software would have its limits, but it functioned quite well for me! Guitar Pro lets you create and edit sheet music to your hearts content, and contains all of the necessary symbols, clefts, beats, and notes you might need. I'm a casual musician, so I don't have a burning desire to use any over-the-top mechanics, but the fact that they are available is nice. Cons I used the free trial, so I didn't get to utilize all of the software before said trial ended. But I enjoyed what I saw. Review Source MC Matias C. It now features a depiction for virtually anything one can do on a stringed instrument, and its sound banks make it sound pretty much like the real thing. Guitar Pro is not only an application to help you play along an existing work, it is now also a compositional tool. Cons With all that being said, I have to say Guitar Pro is not the tool I personally need anymore. It helped me evolve to the point I do not need it anymore, and this is the reason I have stopped using it. I now use a certain open-source alternative that I do not have to pay for, which just shows me the tabs and plays along for me to practice. Perhaps they should replace their time-limited trial with a lite version. All that being said, Guitar Pro is still the best high-end score writer for guitarists. Review Source IF Igor F. Hoje vendo a versão 7 o app está infinitamente melhor. A qualidade do áudio, a precisão ao executar o que é escrito é surreal. Pros É super simples de usar, qualquer músico iniciante consegue fazer uso e aprender conceitos mais técnicos dentro do software. Cons Usei a versão 6 por muitos anos. I also use it when I give private lessons and so far it has been very useful for students. Pros The application works as a knowledge broker and at the same time encourages the user to create and develop alone. Until today it was the best I found, because it is useful for music teachers to use with their students in the classroom, as well as for any user to go after learning alone. You can work rhythms, sheet music, tablature, etc. Apart from the practicality of saving your score or printing. Pros I use guitar pro mostly to write music for my church group, we make arrangements for several players either guitar or bass players. It is extremely helpful even for practicing with it's back tracks so anyone learning guitar would benefit enormily from this software. Cons I have no complaint about guitar pro, perhaps at first it's interface is a little bit confusing, but after a while this wont be a problem. It certainly has the capabilities to use professionally, and I have several friends who have created outstanding compositions using the software. Pros I really like the intricate effects you can put on each individual track. As a recreational musician who likes to compose in his spare time, this program has been so much fun. It's also really easy to create samples of effects you like for future use. Cons I don't have anything negative to say about it. Occasionally, when I'm working on a project with more than a dozen tracks, the program has slowed down on me. Try the free trial and decide for yourself. Pros Guitar Pro has a very nice and easy to understand interface. You cannot go wrong with it. I am using Guitar pro since version 5.0. I love the huge database of song files available online for free. Being a busy professional I go not have time to sit down and figure out a song by ear. So this software is a must. Cons Guitar Pro could be a bit chipper for the 1st time users. Say around $40. It would love more friendly external instrument integration to this software. It boasts so many neat features and allows users to customize guitar tabs/sheet music down to the smallest detail. It's simply a fabulous practice tool. Pros Guitar Pro is simply phenomenal for its ability to generate sheet music and tabs for guitar that are completely customizable to the smallest detail. You can hear the sounds played back and use it as a practice tool by slowing down the music. Guitar Pro has been around for a long time, and it helped me figure out numerous songs I wouldn't have otherwise been able to learn. Cons It's slightly intimidating to new users because of the high amount of buttons and options. I don't see this as a negative, but it creates a learning curve. Review Source Sophie W. You can write your own stuff, throw it in, test it out in different sounds, instruments, and tunings. Pros Lots of features. Great resources. Plug in a instrument and play, it will record your notes and show you the sheet music. Also shows tabs for those who can't read music. Cons A little overwhelming to get the hang of, as there is so much to try and use. Reason for choosing Guitar Pro Guitar Pro is a little better with testing out my various sounds, I like to go for certain styles of music. Pros I love how easy it is to learn the tabs for beginners, most young learns work better with a hands on teacher but this software bridges tee gap and is very easy to understand. Any level of guitar player can really benefit from this software because it reminds the learner to master the basics. If you master the basics any genre of music you can step into with confidence and if your unsure you know how to speak the language of music theory. Cons The only con is that it helps to have hands on teaching because that helps with fine tuning mistakes and helps the learner not to develop bad habits. Reason for choosing Guitar Pro Just like the name implies you can really become a pro very fast but you have to put the time in but this product is set up in such a way you will see results very fast.
