Pros It's easy to write pieces of music and export them to a MIDI file that you can use it in any DAW such as pro tools, reaper or cubase. Cons Sometimes the software may crash when you have a lot of channels but it has an auto save feature so its not a big deal, also, I find the guitar pro 5 version to be the most intuitive of them all. Being able to edit scores digitally is the best, it is cleaner, tidier and I spend less paper. I use it mostly for practice, but I have taken some bass lessons - I'm a guitarist - and they have been very easy to understand. 100% recommended Cons It's a bit expensive. Not that it's not worth it, but for the price maybe I would go to private lessons, instead of having interactions with a software. With this of the pandemic it is an excellent option, but when I can go back to practicing live with other musicians, i'll probably not pay the subscription because the price is not so accessible. Pros This is a must for every guitarist that wants to learn their fav solo or even play along with the band. tabs, music, tabs and standard notation, the means to repaet any given bar or phrase, slow down, loop. the ultimate way to see and practise with a huge library of ready made sonds and popular bands. It also has a useful tool to build chords and others that allow you to practice and develop as an interpreter, such as the metronome and the "speed coach". Cons the previous versions to the (like the 5.2), had some details like the changes of octave in some instruments and the excessive consumption of the resources of the computer. It's always been easy to use and is generally extremely accurate. Cons The odd song is tabbed slightly different to how the band play it to account for different guitar tunings. Need to change a chord and then highlight it red? Boom. Done. Need to add chords that have a different bass note and don't want to make the page messy? Yeah they got that too. Everything from a smoothly operating software interface to their easy-to-input note selector - AND at a cheap price - makes this my favorite app to recommend to my students. I have been playing guitar for 21 years and have been teaching for close to 10 years for reference. Cons Sometimes the software will glitch out unexpectedly. You have a large array of tools for writing you own sheets, despite being a novice or a professional musician, Cons Learning curve is too steep for beginners, that's granted -I even had problems with the setup at first-. Specially with the latest version that changed the entire GP layout, making it harder to use to veterans aswell.
